Chapter 1332 - Missing One Person
Chapter 1331 – Missing One Person
Old Hei smiled awkwardly but didn’t say anything. After the men were all assembled, he walked into the tomb right away, leading to a long hallway that went left and right. Old Hei went left.
Lin Yi wasn’t too certain regarding the situation inside the tomb since the couple didn’t mention too much of it in their journal. Bojia did give some theories and instructions regarding some traps and mechanisms but forgot about the simple safety stage of entering the tomb.
Lin Yi didn’t say anything since he didn’t know anything, following behind Old Hei and the others in the dark tomb. Old Hei had light, but there wasn’t any other source of light in here- it was especially eerie.
At first, it was alright, but after a couple of dozens meters, the cold started hitting them, along with a smell of rot and mold. It didn’t feel comfortable.
Luckily, the surface of the tombs seemed complete with no debris or obstruction. They moved quickly.
Sometime later, they heard a sudden clicking, and everything turned black!
The group was made up of veteran tomb robbers, and naturally, they didn’t believe in ghosts or anything- but they still stopped dead in their tracks.
“Shit, the searchlights out of battery? I charged it yesterday!” Old Hei cussed. “Who was the one who charged it?”
“Hei Bro, I checked it just now. I checked the remaining power too, and there weren’t any problems…” A big man said carefully.
“God damn it, who has a torchlight? Give me one!” Hei Bro shook his head. The chances of the searchlight suddenly breaking down was less than one percent, but here it happened! It was too late to go get a new light now, but they only had one searchlight this time!
This was big equipment with a big battery, and it wasn’t convenient to bring it.
Someone passed him a flashlight, but it was a lot weaker than the searchlight. Even the searchlight couldn’t shine far, after all.
But it was better than nothing- they couldn’t see clearly, but it worked a little.
“The ones behind me, hold hands! Don’t get left behind!” Old Hei shouted. He turned to one of his men. “Mister Qiu, please go at the back and put some stone dust as markers, we can’t get lost!”
“Yes, Hei Bro!” The man nodded and ran to the back.
Lin Yi looked at this Mister Qiu- he was a Golden Class early phase peak- Old Hei actually had practitioners with him!
After that was done, Old Hei walked forward with his flashlight for a hundred meters- they couldn’t see the end. Lin Yi frowned but didn’t say anything since the other guys were quiet.
A couple of hundred meters later, Old Hei stopped all of a sudden, bringing everyone to a halt.
“No, This isn’t right! Wrong-way!” Old Hei suddenly said a worried look on his face as he turned around. “We only walked for more than ten minutes last time before arriving at the entrance of the underground palace, but now it’s been half an hour!”
“Seriously? How did that happen?” James said, shocked. “What kind of guide are you?”
“Shit, I knew something was up, we’ve been walking so long! My legs are all wobbly!” Keng Bro complained.
“Stop arguing, Old Hei, what happened?” Old Hao spoke up, interrupting everyone. He was the only one who hadn’t been in here before, so naturally, he didn’t know.
“Old Hao, we seemed to have gone the wrong way- this path doesn’t end, we need to go back right now!” Old Hei said.
“We? It’s you who went the wrong way!” Keng Bro said.
“Alright, this isn’t the time to be pushing blame- Old Hei didn’t mean it, let’s go back first!” Old Hao kept his composure, not panicking.
“That’s all we can do! Mister Qiu, lead us back with the stone markings!” Old Hei said to the back of the team.
But no one replied.
“Mister Qiu?” Old Hei asked again.
No reply.
“Mister Qiu? You there?” Old Hei started to look worried.
“Ah-!!” A call came from behind them, a shriek of horror!
Old Hei subconsciously ran to the back of the team, with everyone looking there as well- one of the men was holding to a severed arm, crying out!
There was some clothing on that arm, too- from Mister Qiu!
“Mister Qiu!” Old Hei said, shocked as he looked at that arm, speechless! “Where is Mister Qiu? Why is there only an arm left?”
“I… I don’t know…” The man was pale and shocked as well. “When you were calling Mister Qiu, I didn’t hear him reply, so I looked back, and I saw nothing… in my hand was his arm..!”
Everyone was already worried that they’d gone the wrong way, so something happening like this shook them to the core!
Old Hei didn’t look good at all- if he didn’t know Mister Qiu’s strength, he would assume that this man had done something, but he was a Golden class early phase peak! Getting instant killed without a sound? Just how strong was the enemy?
“Who is it? Who did that?” Old Hei was starting to panic- Mister Qiu was his biggest card, and now he got killed all of a sudden. They couldn’t even know who did it! Was someone in this team capable of that?
Lin Yi was shocked as well as he looked at the arm! He was confident that he could do the same thing to MIster Qiu without a sound, but this was also based on his assassin’s skills- if it were just a Mystic practitioner, doing this with absolutely no sound to alert Lin Yi at all was very difficult to do!
