Chapter 162 - New Player Hints
There were plenty of spaces left on the computers in Chen Mo’s experience store, but the massage chairs were all occupied. There were also many who were hanging out on the sofa or in the meeting room, and even some who sat at the computers playing Onmyoji.
“Hurry, I started a hunt, come join!” said Wen Lingwei.
“Senior, what’s that name? Thunderbolt ghost hunting team?” exclaimed Chang Xiuya.
“I refuse to join!” asserted Qian Kun.
“It’s fine isn’t it? Isn’t it better than ‘the bugger team'[1]?”
Qian Kun shook his head, “I’d rather join the bugger team!”
Chen Mo was speechless, “How could you visit the experience store everyday, playing games, instead of searching for a job even though you’ve graduated?”
Wen Lingwei glanced at Chen Mo, “Find a job? I’m not taking any of those garbage jobs. I charge five thousand RMB per drawing anyways, it makes no difference if I have an actual job or not.”
Some players will try and grind a first draw account, some will even make many accounts and try and sell them.
There wasn’t a point for other mobile card games to try and limit this. This was a combination of the low value of cards, low player base, and inflexible drawing probability, and wouldn’t do much harm to the game.
But Onmyoji was different. Because of the huge player base and the probability of drawing cards, the cost of SSR cards are incredibly high. This created a huge first draw account problem in the game, which was bad for both the players and the developers.
Therefore, Chen Mo decided to limit creation of accounts as much as possible, increasing the cost of creating first draw accounts to prevent abuse.
This also solved a huge problem Onmyoji had when it was first released.
It didn’t take long before everyone was immersed into Onmyoji.
Chen Mo wasn’t playing as he had his eyes in the reviews. Onmyoji’s reviews were really high so far, maintaining around 8.8. Most of them were five star reviews with a few one star reviews.
There were a lot of bots among the bot reviews. Although some were better hidden than others, some were really obvious, overstating the flaws of the games.
There was feedback and insults, but the players who liked the game were in the majority.
But many of the players expressed that they are finding it can’t to understand the game because of how different it was compared to other mobile card games.
There were many tagging Chen Mo on Weibo, asking for some tips.
Chen Mo decided to post a Weibo.
