Young Master Gu, Please Be Gentle

Chapter 831 - Don’t Worry, I’m Not Dead Yet

Lu Yan had clutched onto her wrist.

An’an stopped walking, she turned around and her cold gaze riveted on the man’s handsome face. Her lips were raised into a cold smirk as she said, “Uncle Lu, you’ve heard those mens’ words. There are rumors of me being forsaken by you right after you got sick of me, my reputation has been completely ruined by you just like that. No decent man would ever want me in the future, are you satisfied now?”

Lu Yan’s eyes were hidden away by the hat he wore over his head. He pursed his lips before apologizing, “I’m sorry.”

 Sorry…

He had so many other words that he could say, but all he chose to say was ‘sorry’.

“Ha,” An’an snorted, “Take your apology and shove it, Lu Yan. I hate you!”

She then tried to retract her wrist and attempted to leave. But Lu Yan held onto her tightly, refusing to let her go.

The night breeze blew her hair around, tears welled up in her eyes as she continued walking. But she quickly lifted her head to look at the skies. It doesn’t matter, she just had to look at the skies if she was going to cry.

The tears would flow right back.

Screech! There was a shrieking sound resulting from the car brakes. An’an glanced with the tail of her eye, two beams of white light was in her direction. A truck was about to knock into her.

 Her eyelashes fluttered nervously.

 “Be careful!”

Lu Yan ran over in the nick of the time and pushed her away.

An’an fell right on the ground, she didn’t feel any pain but the truck knocked into someone.

“There’s an accident! Let’s go check it out!” Many passers-by walked over to check out the scene.

An’an turned back to look. Lu Yan had been knocked down by the truck and his prosthetic leg had been detached. The right pant was empty.

An’an’s pupils contracted and her mind went blank, although her body had already run over to his side.

She crouched down beside him, all the color drained from her face. She looked at the man horridly. Why? Why did he even save her?

Lu Yan had collapsed on the ground, his movements were still agile and he had ran forward while he pushed An’an away, it was just that the truck was too fast and knocked into his right leg.

He couldn’t do anything about it, his prosthetic leg just fell out like that.

His hat also flew away, revealing his suave looks. The overlord of the Capital had his hair covering his eyes while he held onto his right leg with one hand, looking at her with the tail of his eye. An’an was aghast at the entire scene.

He stretched out his hand, ruffling her silky hair while speaking with a husky voice, “Don’t worry, I’m not dead yet.”

 Don’t worry, I’m not dead yet…

He sounded like he was comforting and placating her.

An’an looked at him, he was holding onto the amputated part of his leg. There was blood gushing out of the wound, staining even the ground. He had suffered some abrasions on his elbows while his lips were pale. He didn’t seem like he suffered from any pain, despite sustaining all of those injuries. He just looked at her, smiling at her lovingly.

An’an’s eyes turned red and tears started streaming down her face.

It only took one moment for her to start sobbing.

 She cried.

Lu Yan listened to her sob, her shoulders moving while she was sobbing so sadly.

His heart wrenched in pain, stretching out one large palm to hold her face. “An’an, what’s the matter?”

An’an bit down on her lower lip with her teeth while looking at him with teary eyes. “Just leave, don’t ever come back.”

Lu Yan froze, then his fingers seemed to hesitate before he let go of her face.

An’an began to laugh and cry at the same time, just like a fool. “I’d slowly forget about you, even if it really hurts, I’d get you out of my mind, whatever it takes. I’ve been having the same dream every single night, for the past three years. I’d be crying while congratulating you on your marriage…

“Lu Yan, if I really am able to congratulate you while smiling one day, it would mean that I really don’t love you anymore. The naive An’an, who used to believe that she was the only one who could provide you with happiness, is gone. She’s dead.”
