Chapter 910 - Cannon on the Monsters

Cannon Master Willey was a sad character; he had already turned Undead at this point.

However, he had no clue what he had become. He still believed that he was alive and was fighting for his own beliefs. When he appeared in front of the players, his lines revolved around how all evil would eventually perish.

It was strange for an Undead to talk like this, but he was so serious that it was hard to find it funny.

As such, players felt sorry for him, but soon, they would begin to pity themselves.

Balzannar was thrilled to discover that Cannon Master Willey was still capable of using his superhuman strength after he had become an Undead. As such,he gave his useful servant a new name – Willey Hopebreaker. Balnazzar twisted the souls of Willey and the other Scarlet Crusaders, turning them into his minions.

The Hopebreaker was an appropriate name for the Boss. This became apparent when he began to cast his skills.

Summon Reincarnated Cannon Master: Every five seconds, Willey Hopebreaker summons three reincarnated cannon masters to help him in battle.

This meant that a monster would appear every two seconds. Besides the insane damage that they dealt, they were also harder to kill because they had more Health and Defense.

It was impossible for them to kill a monster within two seconds. At first, Lonesome Flower used his AoE skills, then Sesame Rice Ball began to do the same. In the end, everyone was following suit,

They hadn’t taken down much of Cannon Master Willey’s health, but were flooded by monsters instead.

This was how one of the wipes occurred.

“This is too hard,” Wandering complained. After performing a few calculations, his expression didn’t look promising. He felt like they had run into an unsolvable problem.

Lu Li sat on the floor to eat his bread and shook his head as soon as he heard it.

“An unsolvable boss wouldn’t exist in a dungeon. There has to be something that we haven’t discovered. We’ll save the boss for later; we should have an investigation first.”

Dungeons were designed for players to complete, so there was no way that an unbeatable Boss would exist.

Wild Bosses or cities were a different story. Did the System really have to give players a chance to take down NPCs like Medivh and Thrall too?

There were also Strategists that were investigating the situation outside the Dungeon.

They would obtain video footage in real-time from Wandering, so they understood as much about the dungeon as those who were actually inside. All guilds took the opinion of their Strategists to heart.

Their wipe didn’t make them upset or surprised. Instead, they were relieved.

Previously, when Lu Li and the others had killed Baron Rivendare, they were astonished.

Players like them who were in charge of crafting guides didn’t have high-levels, and their techniques were most likely average as well. However, those of them who were asked to join had a good general game sense.

They had studied Stratholme extensively, so they knew that Baron Rivendare was a major Boss. Based on their estimations, it would have already been a victory for them to take down Baron Rivendare at the end of the day.

What surprised them was that Lu Li and the others had passed the Boss in one go. The guide they had come up with didn’t even involve anything that was too technical.

Now that Lu Li and the others had wiped, they finally felt like he was a normal human as well.

Lu Li said that there had to be something left uncovered, so everyone began to look for clues.

“A wipe right at the start, and this guy is a cannon master. Aren’t we going to die even more later?” Azure Sea Breeze sighed. He didn’t mind being in the thick of the battle, but it was a big ask for him to find clues.

“Cannons, cannon!”

Someone in the strategy team had something click in their minds. Lu Li was also relieved to hear this. This was the downside to employing Strategists, but they definitely needed a team in the long run.

The cannons were definitely a key point; it took talent for someone to discover this so quickly.

Of course, Azure Sea Breeze’s complaint had probably helped too. Since these monsters were too strong for the players, that meant that they would have to rely on other items in the scene.

There was a cannon place right in front of these players and it wasn’t too hard for them to spot.

However, just finding the cannon was not enough, because everyone discovered that it contained no artillery shells. What were they supposed to do – lift the whole thing and ram it into the Boss?

“There have to be some artillery shells hidden somewhere. We should look around,” Lu Li suggested. He felt like he was a God looking down on mere mortals; it was a special experience.

However, they still had not found anything, even after half an hour. If it wasn’t for the fact that they couldn’t beat Cannon Master Willey, they probably would have already given up trying to find the shells.

“Here! This place can be opened!”

A scarlet colored painting on the wall had been pushed open by Hachi Chan, revealing a deep, black space full of artillery shells.

“There’s a total of 24. We’ll need someone to use the cannon – anyone want to be in charge?” Lu Li asked as he looked at everyone.

Azure Sea Breeze: “Me!”

Lu Li: “Get out!”

“I’ll do it,” Sakura Memories offered. She was a buff Shaman, and at this stage, had a slightly awkward role in a team. They couldn’t out-damage Thieves and Warriors, and also didn’t have any AoE spells. At the very most, they could only place down some totems.

“Alright. Pass all the artillery shells to Memories. There’s only 24 of them, so use them when the monsters are more packed,” Lu Li instructed.

After this, they entered battle again. Wandering went out to gather the summoned monsters while the others dealt as much damage as they could to the Boss.

When Willey began to summon monsters, Wandering gathered them in groups of 30, then shouted, “Memories, you can start now! I can’t hold on any longer!”

Sakura Memories aimed her cannon and fired away.

With one loud bang, the entire group fell to the ground.

Fortunately, Wandering was a part of the team and couldn’t take damage from the blast.

Nineteen of the twenty-seven monsters had died, while the rest had about half of their health remaining. A few hammer-strikes from Wandering managed to strike a couple of them down. The remainders were nothing to be worried about; he just had to wait for next round cannon-fire.

Seeing that the situation was under control, those who were fighting the Boss were finally able to focus on their task.
