Chapter 939 - Champion Boots
Lu Li looked at the special effects and the stats and couldn’t help but admit that Dawn was doing a really good job at balancing the game. If he wore the boots right now at his current level, he would become overpowered beyond belief.
The Armor was almost double compared to the Lv35 boots that he were currently wearing, as expected for a Lv60 piece of equipment.
The stats alone were shocking to Lu Li; +150 points of useful stats would be a great boost to his damage and survivability.
The 25% movement speed made it difficult for Lu Li to wipe off the smile on his face. Comparatively, his current boots only provided 15% movement speed.
However, all these Attributes were nothing compared to the three special effects that they provided. The first effect gave him a free skill point on his Kick skill, which was the ultimate counter to Mages. It also provided a chance to silence the enemy, meaning that they would be completely useless.
The second effect, Shadow Step, was one of his favorite skills. Up until now, his most coveted piece of equipment was the Shadow Cloak because it allowed him to use this skill.
The third effect was why this piece of equipment was Legendary grade. No one would doubt the quality of these boots based on this effect alone.
Li Lu had another piece of equipment with the special effect Sudden Thrust in the past, but it didn’t go as far as 15 yards. This skill dealt 200% damage to all targets along the path, which made it both a very powerful attack and repositioning option.
If he casted it at the right time, it could also be used as a powerful multi-target skill.
However, if that was all there was to the special effect, all the players who competed for this item would have died in vain.
What made these Legendary boots so insanely overpowered was the phrase “the user is invincible while moving.”
Invincibility! Most Thieves had Gale Steps, which made them invincible for a short period of time. This made them notoriously difficult to catch.
The general consensus was that Thieves were currently balanced and most players would be confident to go head to head against them in PVP settings.
However, very few players could guarantee that they could catch a Thief. If a Thief had made up their mind to escape, then most of the time, they were able to do so with their invisibility and various mobility skills.
What if Lu Li were to add another skill similar to Gale Step into his arsenal?
This could be even more game changing than the special effect on his Legendary ring.
Hypothetically, if a hundred skills were all thrown at Lu Li at once, he would be dead for sure. If he activated his Ultimate Ring special effect and avoided one skill, he would still be killed by the rest of them. However, Gale Step and Sudden Thrust were different because during invincibility time frame, there was absolutely nothing in the world that could harm or damage him.
Lu Li almost teared up and immediately contacted Square Root Three. He was almost shouting when he asked him to find an enhancement stone that would decrease the requirement level of an equip by 20%.
“Legendary item, Lv60 – is it overpowered?” Square Root Three was a smart man and figured out that the boots must have been godly based on Lu Li’s description.
“Yes, they’re god like,” Lu Li answered honestly.
“No problem, I’ll try my best to find one as soon as possible,” Square Root Three said, then paused and asked, “What are you going to do with the boots that you’re replacing?”
He knew how good Lu Li’s old shoes were because he was there when he had obtained them.
“I….” Lu Li hesitated for a while, then said, “I want to give them to someone as a gift. If anyone in the guild asks for them, then apologize for me.”
This was an item that had been obtained through the efforts of the Elites from the entire guild. Even though Lu Li was the guild master, he couldn’t just give it away as a gift to an outsider or even possibly a contender. This was why he decided to discuss with Square Root Three beforehand.
Surprisingly, Square Root Three wasn’t indignant at all and was quite supportive.
However, he couldn’t understand Lu Li’s logic as he was planning on giving the equip to a girl. Although this was a game and there were no gender restrictions on the shoe, it would be quite strange to give a girl your old shoes in real life.
They then discussed about training with Su Mei.
Rather than training with, it was more like letting her leech of them. He looked up her profile and she was on Lv0.
“Lucky you said yes to her,” Square Root Three said. “Are you stupid? It’s Su Mei.”
“What about her?” Lu Li remembered the first time he bought a fake branded skirt for Lu Xin and it had a picture of her on it. Lu Xin was very happy, but Lu Li didn’t care about that stuff at all. You couldn’t expect a grown man who can barely feed himself to chase after celebrities and stars.
Lu Xin was a big fan of Su Mei. It was no wonder why she was so desperate and even threatened to never call him older brother again.
When they were struggling to get by, Lu Xin had collected a few fake posters of Su Mei. Some were handed down by her schoolmates who thought the posters weren’t printed well or defected. After they got back on their feet, Lu Xin bought a shampoo that endorsed her.
“Do you know how many people want an opportunity like this?” Square Root Three asked enviously. “She’s considered a national goddess.”
“National goddess? Her?”
“It would be a dream to be able to work with her,” Square Root Three said.
“What about Water Fairy?” Lu Li asked.
Square Root Three had met Water Fairy a few times and had never been rude to her.
In reality, when Lu Li compared Su Mei to Water Fairy, he thought that Water Fairy was prettier.
From a personality point of view, Lu Li got along much better with Water Fairy and always thought that they complemented each other.
Square Root Three was angered.
“How can you compare her to Su Mei? They’re completely different types; have you seen Water Fairy smile before? Su Mei is always smiling and I think she has the best smile in the world.”
“Goddamn it, was this guy a total fanboy? Give me back the calm and intelligent Square Root three, the wise and capable guy who helped build the guild up,” Lu Li thought to himself.
“If you can get her to join the guild that would be even better. I bet a lot of enemy players would betray their guild to join ours just for her. We can raise the acceptance requirement and get even stronger players to push us to the next level. Lu Li, you HAVE to get her to join somehow.”
Square Root Three thought he had come up with the most genius idea.
“Get out of here.”
