Chapter 957 - Obsession
Remnant Dream really had been blacklisted by the Spiering Knight. The next day, when she went to pick up another bargain, the old man was unrelenting in declining her purchases, even if she did have the money.
Of course, this could be dealt with later. For now, they had to deal with the remaining three rings.
The two Gold Rings were actually quite decent. One of them was for Moonlight, while the other was for Azure Sea Breeze. They were particularly suited for them, which was why Lu Li decided to keep them.
Even if the rings were sold, they wouldn’t yield more than 500 gold. What was most valuable was the exclusive Epic Paladin Ring. Shen Wansan had estimated the price of this Ring to be about 16,000 gold.
Epic equipment usually didn’t cost more than 5000 gold, not even if it was an exquisite item. While the Ring was worthy of belonging in the next category of rarity, even then, it shouldn’t be worth 16,000 gold.
“We’re rich now, right?” Remnant Dream asked as she leaned over and stared at the two Rings in Lu Li’s hands.
“Dreamy, do you think it would be bad to get our friends to pay for these?” Lu Li was a little hesitant.
“We should get them to pay – goodwill is harder to repay then gold,” Remnant Dream said, then tilted her head upwards and sighed, “If it weren’t for the fact that I owe you so much goodwill, why would I come on all these strange adventures with you?”
“Pfft, whatever,” Lu Li snorted as he squeezed the girl’s face.
The Attributes of the items were sent to Moonlight and Azure Sea Breeze, followed by a price of 300 gold.
“Dammit, how can such a good item be worth 300 gold? Lu Li what have you done? I told you we can’t really compare to Drizzle Court, but you don’t need to sell your soul to catch up…” Azure Sea Breeze couldn’t help but say.
Moonlight was relatively acquainted with the value of items.
“Thank you, I saw a similar one yesterday, but the price was 700 gold.”
Seven hundred gold was a bit expensive, but 300 gold was an outrageously low price. He didn’t know where Lu Li had found this item, but his generosity was noted.
After chatting with those two for a while, Lu Li asked Remnant Dream to mail the two items to them.
“Give me the gold from these two rings, and I’ll let you have the last one,” Remnant Dream stammered after scratching her head.
“Are you dumb? The real value is in this Epic ring; the others are just pocket change,” Lu Li said, unable to understand why this little girl was doing this. She was a high school student – surely she could tell the difference between numbers, right?
The two rings had a total value of 1,500 gold, while the Epic ring had been valued at 16,000 gold. That was a difference of more than ten times.
But in fact, she wasn’t unaware of this.
While they were calculating the values, she couldn’t believe that she was going to make so much money today. 16,000 gold was about one to two million dollars, which was a scary figure for her.
“Alright, next time I’ll help you catch a really cute pet,” Lu Li offered as he patted the girl’s head.
“Boss, why have you come to visit me today?”
Her Tears looked like he had been fighting on the battlefield as he turned around the corner covered in blood. He sat opposite from Lu Li and downed the tea that was there.
Lu Li didn’t even have time to stop him, but that was the tea that Shen had ordered anyway. Regardless, Her Tears had left a good impression on him. His family was definitely well-off, but he didn’t have a playboy attitude at all.
“I have a piece of equipment for you to see…” Lu Li said, getting straight to the point.
They weren’t that close to each other, so talking too much now would just raise suspicions.
“Oh, what equipment?” Her Tears asked as he squinted at the ring in Lu Li’s hands. He had always been envious of the equipment that Lu Li carried when he heard experts analyze on them. He could only fantasize about having top-level equipment, but it was usually only possible for the star players to acquire these items.
“Here,” Lu Li said as he handed it to him.
“Oh, it’s an Epic! This is an Epic, an Epic, oh it’s an Epic…” he rambled incoherently.
“I don’t think anyone can make counterfeit equipment yet,” Lu Li reassured. If he had found an Epic equipment in his previous life, he would probably act like this. It was only because of his sheer amount of exposure to Epic equipment that he was able to maintain his composure.
“The attributes are so good. Dammit, I must be dreaming. This item is really amazing…”
It seemed like he wasn’t going to calm down for a while. Lu Li hailed the waiter for some more tea, and quietly waited for his excitement to pass.
Her Tears’ equipment was pretty good, but he didn’t have a single Epic item. It wasn’t that he couldn’t afford it, it was just that he was never given the chance.
Eventually, this formed an Epic equipment obsession within him as he dreamed of having the best gear.
In this era, Dark Gold equipment could be found everywhere and if you had an Epic item, you could enter a middle-sized guild as an elder. If you offered a Gold item, you would be able to hire an escort.
“Sorry, I’m being rude.” Her Tears was still staring at the Epic ring, unable to conceal his excitement.
“I understand,” Lu Li smiled indifferently.
“This equipment… how do you intend to deal with it?”
Although he had his suspicions, Lu Li hadn’t said anything yet, so he didn’t want to assume. Her Tears simply couldn’t believe that he had run into such a good item.
He had a very clear understanding of his position in the guild. Wandering was obviously ranked higher as the vice president, Mu Qiu was a professional player, Darkness was the guild’s number one Paladin Healer and Drifting Rain was the head of the Paladins. All these players were ranked higher than him.
He had invested a lot of money into the game. Although all this money was his own, he still had the image of a tycoon.
There weren’t many players below him in the build, and the top management didn’t know him particularly well.
“I was going to sell it and share the money around. Shen Wansan had told me that you are collecting Epic equipment, so I was going ask if you are interested?” Lu Li straightforwardly revealed. His reasons were simple – Her Tears belonged to the guild, so Lu Li didn’t have to sell to a stranger, and he could afford it.
“Yes, of course! Sell it to me!” Her Tears was so happy; he felt like this was a moment of divine intervention.
He had been so anxious before, and was comforting himself on the battlefield. Even without Epic equipment, he was still able to kill a number of other players.
“How much can you pay?” Lu Li asked.
Lu Li was prepared for the case that this guy wouldn’t have 16,000 gold. It didn’t matter that much to him – after all, he was part of the guild. Lu Li could always find other ways to make more money.
“How about 30,000 gold? I only have this much,” Her Tears said with his teeth clenched.
