Chapter 216 - Or Are You Doing This on Purpose?
She lowered her head when she turned around, feeling that she was too close to Fu Huai’an. She could barely conceal the shyness on her face as she chose to avoid him and said, “I’ll go check on the noodles…”
Fu Huai’an didn’t let go, choosing to lean closer to Lin Nuan instead.
Lin Nuan took a step back, and her hands held on to the marble counter behind her. Lin Nuan’s gaze lowered to see Fu Huai’an’s long legs, clad in gray slacks, move towards her. Without more space to retreat, she was forced to raise her head and say, “I…”
When her gaze met Fu Huai’an’s, Lin Nuan could only manage to say one word before the rest got stuck in her throat.
His arms were on either side of Lin Nuan holding on to the counter, caging her between them. The mixed smell of his mint body wash and natural scent washed over Lin Nuan.
“You harshly said that you no longer wanted anything to do with me yet you come back to my house with me in the middle of the night. Are you really not learning from past experiences, or are you doing this on purpose?”
The two were leaned very close to each other. When Fu Huai’an spoke, his hot breath swept across her fringe, making her forehead feel slightly ticklish.
Lin Nuan’s hands behind her grabbed on tightly to the edge of the marble counter. Fu Huai’an always spoke so directly, pushing her into a dead-end.
Unable to answer, Lin Nuan bit down on her lip as the rims of her eyes reddened.
The words she said that morning still rang in her ears, but she then turned around and returned to Fu Huai’an’s home with him.
She knew better than anyone else that it wasn’t safe to be with him!
She was making a mistake despite knowing better!
Lin Nuan felt embarrassed as Fu Huai’an pointed it out.
“Lin Nuan.”
Fu Huai’an called out her name in his deep attractive voice; it was as though her name sounded especially pleasant coming from his lips.
When she refused to look up, Fu Huai’an’s hand grabbed her chin and forced her to raise her head. Before she could look him in the eyes, Fu Huai’an kissed her.
His burning lips pressed against hers and Lin Nuan’s fists clenched nervously, but she didn’t reject him.
Fu Huai’an’s kiss grew more forceful, prying Lin Nuan’s lips open without giving her time to hesitate and demanding all the oxygen in her lungs.
Just as Lin Nuan’s mind was going blank from the kiss, Fu Huai’an released her lips and pressed his forehead against hers. He said in his deep hoarse voice, “Stay tonight…”
Lin Nuan actually felt goosebumps arise from Fu Huai’an’s one sentence, and her breath felt incredibly hot.
With her breathing off-paced, Lin Nuan kept her forehead against Fu Huai’an’s, not daring to look up at him. Perhaps it was because of the lack of oxygen, but her heart was beating especially fast.
The scent of hormones filled the air, and every breath Lin Nuan took excited her weak will.
Without waiting for Lin Nuan’s reply, Fu Huai’an kissed her lips again softly and slowly before saying, “Stay, hm?”
The intimacy in the air blew up and burned away the last bit of Lin Nuan’s rationale.
The sounds of the boiling water and the cooking hood rang in Lin Nuan’s ears, turning her brain into a mess.
Lin Nuan’s sweaty palms on the marble counter curled up into fists, and she didn’t reply, but it was as though she used up all the courage in her life as she took the initiative to peck Fu Huai’an’s lips with a racing heart… She shrank back like a frightened rabbit with a red face, too nervous to look up.
Lin Nuan couldn’t deny that she had lowered her guard and willingly took a tiny step towards Fu Huai’an because of how Fu Huai’an had saved her.
