Chapter 233 - I Want to Hear the Truth
At that point, Lu Jinnan suddenly sneered and said, ” Oh yes… The one you loved was Wen Moshen, but where were you when he was missing the last few years? Attending school in comfort and sitting comfortably in the studio of the broadcast building, chatting happily with the people of Haicheng?”
“I heard that when Wen Moshen went on your interview program, he had said that the reason he chose to forgive Gu Hanyan for going to bed with someone else and having the engagement was that Gu Hanyan went to Iraq to search for him, without a care for her own safety! Since you loved Wen Moshen so much that you are willing to bed Fu for him, why didn’t you have the courage to go to Iraq to search for him? If you had been the one to go to Iraq then perhaps the one marrying Wen Moshen now would be you!”
Lu Jinnan snickered. His shoulders, hair, and lashes were covered in a layer of fine mist, and he looked more intense than ever.
Lin Nuan remained composed; her expression and eyes were collected and calm and didn’t give away her emotions.
Lu Jinnan took a step towards Lin Nuan and said in a low voice, “Your so-called devotion and faithful waiting for the past few years for Wen Moshen is actually just an act to bid for the right time to make your move! It seems to me that helping Wen Moshen to watch over Gu Hanyan is just a good excuse for you to get in bed with Fu because one Fu Huai’an is worth much more than ten Wen Moshen, isn’t that correct?”
Lin Nuan kept quiet, and that prompted Lu Jinnan to continue. With his hands in his pockets, he tilted his head and looked at her as he circled around her.
“Now that Wen Moshen is back, are you afraid that being with Fu will make you look like you are unfaithful, so you are playing hard to get with Fu? To start a relationship because of love?” Lu Jinnan’s uttered beside Lin Nuan’s ear calmly, “What right have you to talk to me about love! If what you felt towards Wen Moshen is considered love, then love is cheap and worthless.”
Lu Jinnan had spoken at length and seeing that Lin Nuan hadn’t refuted him at all, he finally felt he had spoken to his heart’s content.
“Take the information and pass it to your brother, Lin Chen. He will know how to use it wisely! Otherwise, your putting on an act in front of Fu would have gone to waste.”
Lu Jinnan finished his sentence, stomped on the file, and dashed off into the rain.
After the SUV had driven off into the rain, Lin Nuan bent down to picked up the soiled file that had been trampled on by Lu Jinnan.
Her phone which was inside her pocket vibrated, it was Fu Huai’an.
Lin Nuan answered the call. “Hi…”
Lu Jinnan had sent Fu Huai’an a message when he drove off to inform Fu Huai’an that he had passed the file to Lin Nuan.
Fu Huai’an then took a break from his work and called her.
“Did Lu Jinnan wake you up?”
His manly voice which was calm and mellow drifted from the phone, and it was music to her ears.
Lin Nuan lowered her gaze and said, “No, I am a light sleeper, I came down the stairs when I heard some voices…”
“Why don’t you go back to rest? I will be back in Haicheng around six p.m. Shall we have dinner together?”
Fu Huai’an’s deep voice didn’t reveal any signs of exhaustion.
“If I were to use this information… Will it affect you greatly?” Lin Nuan suddenly questioned. As though afraid that Fu Huai’an might give her a vague answer, she added in a gentle but firm tone, saying, “I want to hear the truth.”
She knew Lu Jinnan might have been exaggerating just then, which was why Lin Nuan had spoken with such certainty and conviction.
