Chapter 1039 -Felstriker
When the third-in-command monster came out of the box, Lu Li was frightened and ran for his life.
The monster was a Thief.
The topic of the most feared class of monsters for Thieves was heatedly discussed on Dawn’s forums. Every class was mentioned, but for Lu Li, he was afraid of Thief-class monsters the most.
High-levelled Thief monsters usually had Shadow Step, in addition to a crowd-control ability.
They had the ability to instantly teleport behind their enemies and stun them. Once targeted, it was extremely difficult to run from them.
The newly-materialised monster did not even have time to react before Lu Li disappeared in front of its eyes.
He was too unfortunate; there was only a 50% chance of monsters spawning. However, a majority of boxes in this 12-room area had spawned monsters. There were two left, so if they spawned anymore, Lu Li would be utterly unlucky.
Lu Li was in his leopard form as he carefully pried the chest open, ready to flee at the first sight of the monster.
The second-in-command was a Boss that rivalled the Captain himself. As soon as the Captain died in battle, or was unable to continue its duties, the second-in-command would automatically be recognized as Captain. As for his health bar, it exceeded the millions.
No monster!
Finally, a monster did not spawn. Lu Li stood in front of the chest and nearly kneeled.
He did not hesitate and instantly looted the items inside, hoping for there to be something worthy of his time since he had spent at least half a day in this place.
Mistscale Leggings, Plate armour, Dark Gold. The Attributes were excellent and it looked like it was suited for Healing-based Paladins.
The second item was a Mask. After seeing its properties, Lu Li instantly became excited. It was a T1 Level 55 Dark Gold Mask Thieves, called the Nightslayer Mask.
He already had the Leggings of the Nightslayer set, so after equipping this one, he would have two pieces of the set.
Two pieces of equipment from the set were enough to activate the first Set Effect.
The third item was much more worse than the others – it was a Nautical Compass.
Lu Li sighed. A chest of such high-rank only had three items. The Captain’s chest would have had so much more, but unfortunately, he probably was not able to retrieve them.
Lu Li had spent half a day to search this entire ship. He ended up with two Gemstones that had the effect of lowering the requirements of equipment. Furthermore, he had also gained many other high-grade equips, such as the T1 Head Armour. Such equipment could only be hoped to drop in much higher-levelled instance dungeons or from Wild Bosses.
He still hadn’t checked the equipment he had received from the Captain.
Lu Li took out a Stone. He had found it in the Captain’s chest, so it could not be a ‘low-grade’ stone like an Enhancing Stone.
In a normal player’s eyes, Enhancing Stones were in high demand, so the prices for them were outrageous. However, Lu Li considered them as rubbish. They would have killed him had they known that he said things like this. Lu Li was not wrong though – in his eyes, only the Stones that lowered requirements were of worth.
Transmuting Stone: After embedding, the user gains a Special Critical Hit Effect. 10% chance of doubling damage dealt to the target. 5% chance of tripling damage dealt to target. 1% chance of dealing 5 times the original damage. 0.01% chance of dealing 10 times the original damage.
This was a Stone held in the highest regard by Mages!
Of course, this could be used for classes other than Mage, but Mages prioritised Critical Strikes above anything else since their base Attack stats were already extremely high. After successfully dealing a Critical Hit, the damage dealt would be tremendous. Five times the original damage had the chance of instantly killing another player.
As for the 1% chance, it was better to not depend on it.
Truthfully, Lu Li was hoping for a Stone that lowered requirements. As he sighed, he took out a dagger and read the description.
What? Felstriker?
This could not have been Felstriker! Was the System trying to bribe Lu Li into something?
Lu Li took back his words. Although he did not necessarily need a new dagger, when comparing his own daggers to the Felstriker, they were absolute trash.
The Felstriker was a weapon that was a relic of an era, not just a mere dagger. This dagger was the dream of all Thieves. Before activating the special effects, it let the user experience what it was like to be a god.
Furthermore, the drop rate of this dagger was abysmally low.
In the first year that Dawn was released into the public, the drop rate was a mere 0.62%.
Considering this and the fact that everyone wanted to get their hands on one, it was a miracle to be the owner of a Felstriker.
It was harder for someone to gain enlightenment than to get their hands on this weapon.
Lu Li recalled that when he had just joined the game, only a few players were strong enough to even think about owning this dagger. These people were at the absolute pinnacle of Dawn. When the drop rate was adjusted to being higher than 2%, Thieves who were around level 60 to 70 began to head towards Blackrock Spire to try and make their dreams come true.
Furthermore, the Felstriker had to be crafted.
Before owning one, many rare materials had to be gathered. Of course, the Felstriker was a dagger that could only be dropped in Nightmare-levelled instance dungeons in Blackrock Spire, which was only tackled by the Elite squads of major organisations.
The Felstriker was a level 60 Legendary grade weapon.
Lu Li had a high-grade crafting hammer, so he was confident that he could craft one. He was aiming to make 2 slots available – one for the Transmuting Stone, and the other for the Critical Hit Stone.
Why didn’t he use the Critical Stone on his other equipment?
Precious stones like these should be embedded in equipment after much consideration. Normally, attack-based Stones were embedded in Weapons or Rings, while Defense-based Stones were embedded in Armor. Stones that increased movement speed would obviously be used on Shoes.
If the Critical Stone was embedded in his Shoes, it would be a waste.
After examining the dagger, Lu Li was extremely satisfied with his day’s work.
Maps like these, where people had not yet tread, were the best. After half a day, Lu Li had already gained more than what a few hundred people could hope to gain from a Wild Boss. Truthfully, not even a level 60 Wild Bosses could drop this many items.
A single Felstriker replica like this was enough to trump anything that could drop from a Boss that was level 60 and below.
Unfortunately, Lu Li’s crafting level was a little low, and he did not have the required materials. It was impossible to craft a Felstriker within a couple of days.
The best Stone that he had right now was one that lowered the level requirement by 10%. After equipping this stone on any equipment, a level 54 player could wear level 60 items. As such, levels were of utmost importance. When Lu Li reached level 54, he would have already crafted the Felstriker.
