Chapter 1067 - Giving a Present
“Hehe…you all saw it. Don’t think about it too much!”
Azure Sea Breeze took the skill book learnt it straight away. Everyone wanted the skill book; it was that valuable.
“What a child,” Unforgettable Maple muttered under his breath.
After this, there weren’t any more important items, so they were rolled for fairly quickly. Everyone had ended this quest on a good note.
“Although I die every time I see you, I have to say this – partying up with you makes things a lot easier,” Elevenless said as he slapped Lu Li’s shoulders lightly.
He could not imagine doing a Boss fight without any wipes. Through this experience with Lu Li, he recognised that although Lu Li didn’t know much about the Boss, he was able to make the best decision in the shortest time needed.
“As a commander of such an elite squad, I think that you’re better than Sorrowless,” Unforgettable Maple laughed as he gave Lu Li a thumbs-up, then.
After everyone left, there was only Lu Li and Water Fairy who remained.
“Do you need me to do something?” she asked.
“Could I borrow the material that you got just then?” Lu Li requested as he immediately shot out his hand; it would be weird if he was too polite.
“I’ll give it to you,” Water Fairy offered as she handed him the Chrono Fragment, then asked out of curiosity, “Is this for making the dagger?”
“Let’s walk together for a while. I haven’t explored Moonglade yet,” Lu Li suggested.
“As if you go around and explore places.”
Water Fairy didn’t believe that Lu Li would go to a specific place just for the scenery. Of course, she would not turn down the offer anyway, since there weren’t many people who could converse with her. Perhaps this was because of her personality.
There weren’t any monsters or people along the path they had chosen. There were only trees, flowers, and the occasional butterfly. It felt like a place that had not been touched by civilisation.
If only there wasn’t someone bending down to pluck the plants…
“If a dagger required Chrono Fragments or Shards to be crafted, then there would be speed-based properties,” Lu Li answered Water Fairy’s question as he plucked the Mageroyals from the ground.
“You’re quite knowledgeable, aren’t you?” Water Fairy had to praise him. After all, it was her first time meeting someone who knew the game inside and out.
“I read, since I don’t do much of anything else anyway,” Lu Li explained, then froze for a bit, feeling a little guilty. It was true that he had spent a great amount of time on this game, but there was no way that this amount of knowledge was accumulated over this half a year that Dawn had been released. It was from his previous life, where he would research Dawn and its mechanics in his every moment of free time. He did this for around two or three years, which eventually culminated in everything he knew at this moment.
“Previously, you said that Taretha was unfortunate. Did you know much about that too?” Water Fairy asked.
“She’s the daughter of Aedelas Blackmore…An enraged Thrall killed Aedelas Blackmoore, yet he couldn’t revive this woman who had left a deep imprint in his heart,” Lu Li calmly replied.
“Then…were they ever in love?” Water Fairy was distressed, so she decided to change topics straight away.
“They probably did,” Lu Li said unsurely.
Thrall himself probably couldn’t pinpoint exactly what type of feelings he had for Taretha either. Furthermore, these feelings could not be categorised, since these could have changed because of time.
“Is Thrall alone now?”
“No, Thrall has a wife now; her name is Aggra. She’s a disciple of Thrall’s grandmother. She’s also Thrall’s Shaman teacher and his grandmother appointed her as his wife.”
Lu Li didn’t know why, but he felt that this was not a pleasant story at all, especially for Water Fairy.
He was right – Water Fairy froze after hearing this. Then, she managed to shake out of that state and ask, “What Chief? He’s just a playboy.”
Her father had remarried soon after the passing of her mother. At that time, his new wife was only the secretary. She didn’t know when they had gotten together. When her father remarried with her step-mother, they vowed not to have a second child and would only focus all their attention on her, but now, this had all changed.
“Do you have any worries lately?” Lu Li asked.
“Well, it’s always my dad anyway. He’s been messing with my things and affairs in the game. What’s
more…never mind. There’s no meaning to this anyway.” Water Fairy was evidently frustrated.
Furthermore, her father had warned her to stay away from Lu Li, saying, “That boy who’s just walked out of that poor area, he would have an unbelievably rebellious heart. Look at him now. The next thing he would do is to come after your wealth in the game.”
Previously, Water Fairy could do no wrong in his eyes, but now she was an immature brat.
Her father’s wish was once her command, but in his eyes, she did not want to be that ‘good girl’ anymore.
“Maybe you guys lack communication.” Lu Li did not want to give too many opinions on other people’s family affairs. However, he was curious as to how her father was obstructing her progress.
Lu Li was not an expert at relationships. From his perspective, this was primarily a result of a misunderstanding.
Her father might have unknowingly gone back on his promise, which made Water Fairy angry. As a result, he would have felt guilty over it and realised that he was gradually becoming more and more distant from his daughter, leading to more anger. Lu Li didn’t know that he also had a small part in this, since his existence and closeness with Water Fairy led her father to believe that this bad guy was going to take away his daughter.
To say that he had abandoned his daughter for his wife’s baby was unlikely.
After all, the child was only a few months old and the gender was also unknown. Even if the baby was a boy, it wasn’t certain that he could be trained to be the next successor.
“That’s right. I’m not sure when I can return the material to you. I’ll use this skill book as collateral,” Lu Li said as he took out a skill book named ‘Armor’ that he had previously looted from the Seafloor Shipwreck.
Since there were many Thieves in Ruling Sword, this prestigious skill book could have been given to anyone.
However, Lu Li had hesitated many times and kept the book until today. After taking the book out, he had not regretted at all.
Demolish Armour: Instant. Ultimate skill. Ignores Armor of the target. The amount of Armor decreased scales by the level of the skill. Lasts for 10 seconds. Cooldown: 120 seconds.
Level 1: 10% Armor ignored.
Level 2: 20% Armor ignored.
Level 3: 30% Armor ignored
Level 4: 40% Armor ignored
Level 5: 50% Armor ignored.
A skill that ignores Armor!
Water Fairy knew of this skill, so she obviously knew the value of such a book as well. She then realised that Lu Li could have given this skill book to the Thieves in Ruling Sword.
No one had the right to tell anyone what to do regarding their loot and rewards. However, the usual protocol would be to give it to your own squad or guild members.
“If it’s just for collateral, then don’t worry about it, but if it’s a gift, then I’ll take it,” Water Fairy said as she raised her head and looked at Lu Li with eyes that reflected the moonlight.
