Rebirth of the Heavenly Empress

Chapter 56

Chu Xuning pressed a button, and it opened a door to a passageway that led towards the laboratory. He then took out a few mini handheld transceivers and gave them to Yu Xiangyang and the others.

“Our enemies have also entered the laboratory base. They are inside the room where Doctor Luxe is in and in three other passageways to your left.” They could hear a young yet bright voice from the transceivers. “Remember, after you guys have found Doctor Luxe, you must leave through the middle passageway. The other passageways would only lead you to a dead-end.”

It was a clear and deep voice, but it had a hint of laziness in it.

The voice belonged to Chi Yue.

He had already taken control of the entire monitor room in the base.

“Qingqing, what’s wrong?” Qu Yan, who stood nearest to Su Huiqing, felt her discomfort.

Su Huiqing wore a transceiver wristwatch and her facial expression remained unchanged. She slightly lowered her eyes to hide the wicked glint in her eyes. “Don’t stray too far away from me when you get in later.”

Qu Yan held Su Huiqing’s sleeve and nodded in silence.

When Chu Xuning and the others walked towards them, he reached out and pushed the man onto the ground.

He slightly lowered his eyes before taking out a snowy white napkin to clean his left hand.

The man pathetically raised his head to look at Yu Shijin, who still seemed as casual as usual. He gave a weird chuckle and took out a timer from his coat pocket. “Do you think you have won over me?”

Chu Xuning saw the numbers on the timer. Eight, seven…

Even Qu Yan wondered what was the timer for.

Yu Shijin crushed the napkin into a ball and casually threw it away. He then stuffed one hand into his pocket and raised his eyes to look towards the man.

He slightly bent down and took the timer away from him. With his eyes slightly lowered, he calmly said, “Look carefully.”

The red numbers on the timer slowly changed.

With every change in the number on the timer, everyone’s heart beat a little faster.

Three.

The man saw the look on Yu Shijin’s face. It was very calm that he could not help but feel a little uneasy.

Two.

Yu Shijin threw the timer away and turned his head to look in another direction.

One.

Well, the man’s uneasiness was not uncalled for.

Because there was not a single sound of an explosion heard.

The entire base remained silent.

Everyone followed Yu Shijin’s gaze and a slender figure slowly walked out of the shadow.

As she held her bag with one hand, she held the dismantled robot with her another.

The robot had been dismantled so badly that it lost its shape.

The man raised his head in disbelief and saw her exquisitely beautiful face, her pitch-black eyes glistened under the light.

She seemed around seventeen-years-old.

She defused his mini bomb in such a short span of time! Countless people flashed past his mind, but no one could match the skill level of the person in front of him.

Su Huiqing walked over at a speed that was neither too fast nor too slow, and she casually threw the robot onto the ground.

She stopped beside the man and squatted down. She then reached out to hit his cheek while raising her eyebrows. “Did you know that you are the very first person who dared to use bombs in front of me so blatantly?”

Her voice was soft, and the man was probably the only one who could hear her at that moment.

Chu Xuning snapped back to his senses. He had pressed a button on the transceiver before explaining the situation to Chi Yue.

However, before he could finish his sentence, Chi Yue’s hand that was hovering over the keyboard suddenly froze. He raised his eyes and looked at his computer screen.

As the situation was very dire, he accidentally said a secret signal. ‘Left! Three o’clock.’ He had frequently used it during missions in the past. It was a secret signal which no one could understand unless they were a part of the Rapid Fire Mercenary Regiment.

He reached out to take a cigarette. “Who was the one talking just now?”
