Chapter 747 - Thief Couple
Thief Couple
“Pinliang, don’t panic! I’ll go to the doctor and ask them to give you a thorough check up and see what’s wrong with your kidney!” Zhong Pingliang completely lost his calm, but Zhong Fabai couldn’t. If he panicked, it would only make Zhong Pingliang worry more.
Although he was anxious, he pretended to be calm and said, “Perhaps An Jianwen thought that the person was Lin Yi. They can’t possibly grab someone random and give their kidney to you, can they? A kidney worth quite an amount. They wouldn’t do something that takes so much effort with no benefits!”
Zhong Pingliang heard his father’s words and calmed down a little. Indeed, An Jianwen wouldn’t do something like unbeneficial like this! An Jianwen would benefit more giving him a successfully paired kidney rather than a random one! Kidneys were sellable and any would bring An Jianwen a fortune, so why would he do that?
The only possibility was that An Jianwen caught someone who looked like Lin Yi and then took his kidney and gave it to Zhong Pingliang.
“Okay! We’ll discuss this after the checkup!” Zhong Pingliang nodded.
Zhong Fabai didn’t dare to waste a second and headed straight outside to find a doctor. Zhong Pinliang’s kidney transplant wasn’t performed at People’s First Hospital so they didn’t have related information on him. They only provided regular recovery services rather than follow up treatments.
Zhong Fabai was afraid of catching the police’s attention, so earlier, he didn’t make the doctors give his son follow up treats since he trusted An Jianwen. If An Jianwen said that the kidney was a good fit, then there shouldn’t be a problem! Zhong Fabai also planned to give his son another thorough checkup after his body recovered a little more.
But now he had to find a doctor, quickly. Zhong Pingliang was pushed out of the room for the checkup…
At the same time, in another room at the hospital…
As expected, Liu Bojia woke up in the afternoon, just around the time which Lin Yi predicted. All the doctors were surprised since a patient who relied on a respirator to live woke up. All body indexes showed obvious improvements, and he had no other problems other than the wounds on his skin.
Wasn’t this a miracle in medicine?
However, Song Lingshan didn’t recount the treatment process and merely said that the police found a specialist, and the details were to be kept confidential.
The hospital had no option but to cooperate with the police and continue with follow up treatments of Liu Bojia since the police expressed the treatment’s confidentiality.
After Liu Bojia woke up, he wasn’t as stubborn as before. He knew that he survived a great misfortune, but it was up to him whether he will be able to live a good life in the future.
Previously, Liu Bojia didn’t expect the insane murderer to be able to find him in the hospital and sneak into the room to kill him amongst the police. He didn’t die this time, but he wasn’t sure if he would be lucky next time or not.
If death was the only option for him, he decided that he better work with the police to survive! He knew that as long as he was alive, those people won’t let him go so easily. He would rather be sentenced to jail since the jail was safer.
Song Lingshan and Chen Yutian entered the room after Liu Bojia was stabilized. They settled next to his bed.
“Liu Bojia, do you still want to keep it a secret?” Song Lingshan looked at Liu Bojia and recalled that she viewed him as a victim, but now it seemed like internal strife to her, “If a miracle doctor didn’t treat you, do you think you would have survived?”
Song Lingshan was harsh. There was no need to be polite to someone like Liu Bojia. He didn’t only waste a great amount of Lin Yi’s pure energy, but he also created huge problems and confusions for the police.
After Liu Bojia woke up, he was informed of his situation during the coma. He was told that he relied on the respirator to live.
In short, the hospital could do nothing, but the police found a specialist to treat Liu Bojia, and he finally escaped from death.
“How much do you guys know?” When Liu Bojia asked them, his mind was filled with wishful thinking. He didn’t know much information the police held, and he could address problems selectively.
“The tomb raiding organization under the code name of Thief Couple is captured,” Chen Yutian didn’t say that the couple was shot but said that they were captured to suppress Liu Bojia psychologically. This would make him think that the police has evidence of the crime committed, “According to their testimony, you are part of the organization and you will take part in their next mission. This time, isn’t your family under attack because they wanted to silence you?”
Chen Yutian wasn’t too detailed with his story but it told the truth. The more he phrased it this way, the more Liu Bojia would think that the police has grasped the majority of information in their hands. After all, if the couple has been arrested, the police will easily know what he had done.
“Thief Couple? What do they do? Tomb raiding? Do I have anything to do with it?” Liu Bojia probed. He didn’t think that the couple would sell him out so easily. It seemed unreasonable to him since he didn’t have any conflicts with them. There were rules in the profession of tomb raiding; if they accused their fellows at random, it’s possible that others in the same profession will seek revenge on them.
Even if you were in jail, you still had a family, didn’t you? Even if they can’t take revenge on you, then they would still harm your family!
Hence, when numerous tomb raiders were arrested, they often only addressed their own problems without addressing information on other organizations and sales channels. Otherwise, their families would be harmed by those unarrested.
“Haha, you are thinking that it’s unrealistic that the couple didn’t address other things but only sold you out, correct?” Song Lingshan had worked in the police force for years and learned to observe micro expressions. As soon as she saw Liu Bojia’s expressions, she knew exactly what she was thinking.
“It’s true that I am an archaeologist, and I do contact some tomb raider organizations. However, I do not participate in any tomb raiding activities and only evaluate a few antiques they dig up in private…” Liu Bojia began to talk for himself.
