The Chronicles of the Immortal God

Chapter 63

Fang Lin took a deep breath. This fight against Fang Xiushan will be his hardest fight yet. He readied his available abilities.

Mountain-Bashing Boar Essence. Check

Fire-based Daoist Spells. Check

Perfectly Refined Body. Check

Yang Body. Check

Fang Lin knew that even with all these power-ups, fighting someone very talented at the Peak Qi Condensation Stage will still prove to be a hard matter. He knew that in a battle of attrition, he, who has a lower cultivation was bound to lose.

That means that he needed to finish the match in just one clash.

Fang Lin stared at Fang Xiushan’s stance. His use of his twin swords were impeccable. He can easily use his dark sword to block and parry attacks. As for his offense, his white sword was clearly suited for that.

In order for Fang Lin to defeat Fang Xiushan, he needed to follow Wang Hao’s mantra.

If you can’t beat them, join them

After Fang Lin gave the signal, Yao’er then attacked. She slashed the wrist of Fang Xiushan’s right hand. This made Fang Xiushan drop the formation scroll. These surprise attack made Fang Xiushan open his mouth in surprise. Yao’er took advantage of this opportunity and threw a pill towards Fang Xiushan’s open mouth.

The sudden arrival of the pill made Fang Xiushan unconsciously swallow the pill. After throwing the pill, Yao’er immediately returned to Fang Lin’s shadow.

After Yao’er returned to Fang Lin’s shadow, the formation scroll hit the ground beside Fang Xiushan. This then covered Fang Xiushan in his own prison formation.

The audience let out sounds of complaint.

“Wait, are the use of pets allowed?”

“Yes of course! They are part of the practitioner’s strength. But for the battle stage, only the pets at the maximum of Peak First Stage are allowed to join. That pet of Fang Lin was clearly at the First Stage, so there is no problem.”

Fang Xiushan gripped his bleeding wrist as he stared balefully towards Fang Lin. Seconds later, and the wound was healed.

“That’s it? You just wanted to trap me in my own formation? This formation lasts for 30 minutes. Even with my skill, I cannot crack this prison easily. But so what? After 30 minutes, this formation will disappear, and we are back to square one!”

“Are you sure about that?” Fang Lin sneered. “Have you never thought what that pill you swallowed was supposed to do?”

“Don’t tell me?”

“Yes! That’s the ‘Imperial Hardener’ that you are asking for! Now have some fun! Your weapon has activated now!”

The truth was that Fang Lin had known Fang Xiushan’s plan all along. Before Fang Xiushan went back to his house, he made Yao’er to trail Fang Xiushan from some distance. Far enough to be not detected but close enough to observe.

From Yao’er’s investigation, Fang Lin discovered about Fang Xiushan’s prison and aphrodisiac plan. It was then that Fang Lin started to develop counter-measures against Fang Xiushan.

Which leads us here now.

Fang Xiushan started to feel something weird in his nether regions. It was then that he felt that his little brother, who had lain in dormant for a long time, had stirred awake.

“Ah!”

Along with the sense of stiffness, Fang Xiushan felt that his little brother was sensitive. Every touch of his robes sent some tingling sensation towards his spine. Fang Xiushan had no choice but to keep himself still.

But then, he realized one thing that made his face go pale in horror.

He made a tent out of his robes! All of the audience can clearly see his junior proudly straining against his clothes!

“Haha it seems like you are in a dilemma now. Can’t move well, right?” Fang Lin devilish voice echoed across the arena. “If you cannot move yourself, then I will make you do so!”

Fang Lin then started stomping the arena. He used all of his strength with each stomp. He may not be able to completely destroy the arena, but he can easily make the arena vibrate.

With each vibration of the arena, Fang Xiushan’s robes started swaying. Because his junior was stuck to his robes, each movement of the robe rubbed his junior, adding more pleasant but agonizing sensation for Fang Xiushan.

“Ah please stop!” But will Fang Lin let Fang Xiushan off? Of course not.

He then continued his stomping of the arena. 30 minutes have passed by and the formation was about to disappear. Suddenly, Fang Xiushan stiffened. His body trembled as he suppressed the moans that was coming from his throat.

A few seconds passed by, and he fell to the ground, panting and clearly out of breath. He did not offer any resistance when Fang Lin stomped his foot towards his head.

But before Fang Lin’s foot could land, Chu Yang stopped him.

“The winner of the last match was Fang Lin!”

There were no sounds of applause from the audience. Yes, Fang Lin won, but his methods were a little…. unorthodox.

Fang Lin ignored all the stares that the people gave to him. He approached the spent Fang Xiushan as he whispered,

“So how did your first time feel huh?”

“…….”

Fang Xiushan suddenly stood up with a wooden expression on his face. He waved his hand and a spirit ship descended in the arena. It sucked Fang Xiushan, Rou’er and Xu’er.

The ship then flew into the air, roaring as it did so. It was obvious that Fang Xiushan will not be coming back anytime yet. As for the machinations of the Fang Clan, Fang Lin will just worry about that once it happens.

Fang Lin then absorbed all the swords and red eggs that he collected. Both the sword and the egg became tokens. Seeing this, Fang Lin realized that the egg itself must be the same as the sword. It will only choose one owner.

He then looked expectantly towards the Elders, hoping to gain the apprenticeship he needed. But nobody from them said a word. Suddenly, Tang Luo sighed and stood up. Fang Lin was about to say his thanks when he noticed that Tang Guo was looking towards Tang Ya.

“You know, I never expected you, the daughter of my brother, to reach so far in here.” Tang Luo said with his husky voice. “”The truth is, I was planning on choosing Fang Xiushan as my disciple. But with what happened, I cannot choose him. But I cannot choose this Fang Lin too, for my own reasons.”

Fang Lin just snorted quietly in his heart.

Tang Luo then looked towards Tang Ya. “Because of that, I decided to choose you not as my disciple, but my reserve disciple.”

What does a reserve disciple mean? That means you are considered as someone with nearest spot to be the practitioner’s disciple. A reserve disciple can receive few teachings, but it will be up to them to improve their own power. Once the reserve disciple was able to reach the requirements wanted by their master, they can be promoted to be a disciple.

Of course, Tang Ya will not disagree. Because of her injuries, she could not kowtow yet. So she just bowed her head and said “Reserve Disciple greets Master!”

Tang Luo nodded, seemingly satisfied.

Fang Lin on the other hand, stood like an idiot on the stage. It was then that he realized why no one wants to apprentice him. First was that his way of fighting was not that desirable. It may even harm the sect’s reputation. Second is his connection with the Fang Clan. It seems like nobody in here wants to waste time protecting him.

Fang Yu and Fang Lin both sighed resignedly, accepting their fate. But before Fang Lin could do more self-deprecation, a helping hand reached out to help him.

It was Tang Ya who spoke up. “Um master… can I have Fang Lin as my dao comrade for the time being?”

“A dao comrade?”

In the practitioner world, there are some types of relationship that transcends normal bond. The first one is having a dao companion. A dao companion will be a practitioner’s version of one and only love. You live together as lovers, and you die together as lovers. It is a bond formed by love.

As for the dao comrade, it is a bond formed by friendship. A dao comrade can be considered your closest friend. A friend who will be there to help and guide you. Lifelong friends.

When Fang Lin heard Tang Ya say this, he was both happy and sad. Happy because Tang Ya held out her hand to help him. He was sad, because he knew what being a dao comrade meant

“I have been friendzoned!”

Upon hearing this, Tang Luo stared into Tang Ya deeply. When he saw the unyielding determination on her eyes, Tang Luo just replied, “Well then, if your friend agrees so, he will be your dao comrade from now on. He then looked towards Fang Lin. “Do you agree?”

“Yes of course, I agree!”

Tang Ya visibly sighed in relief. After that, she was wheeled away, waiting to be healed.

Chu Yang then announced,

“This is the end of the disciple selection stage! Let’s wish our new disciples some luck!”

Later that night.

Tang Ya, whose limbs were covered with bandages, looked towards Fang Lin. She then started to ask, “What do you plan to do now?” Fang Lin then replied,

“Six months from now, the sect will be conducting an expedition outside. Anyone are eligible to join this expedition. I plan to raise myself until the peak of the First Stage for both of my bodies at the end of that six months. Then I will find my ‘dao’ and my ‘core spell’ on this expedition.”

Fang Lin took a deep breath as he stared towards the sky.

“Once the expedition is done, I will be at the Second Stage!”

Tang Ya nodded. Because they are dao comrades now, she will also join that expedition. But before she can say some words of affirmation, a pale-faced Xiao Ya appeared in front of Fang Lin.

“What’s the matter, Master Xiao Ya?”

Xiao Ya only said with her grim voice,

“Your Master Wang Hao is now a wanted man at the Tian Ji Empire!”

“What!”
