Chapter 449 - Trust and a business deal
Sima You Yue was not one to be ashamed and replied, “Since the array has been fixed, we should head back first. It’s been so long since we returned, Grandpa and the others will definitely worry.”
Actually, she had long since used the mother-son stone to tell Wei Zi Qi and the others that they would be remaining here for a while. There was no way they would be worried for them.
“Since this is the case, let us send Great Master off.” Zhou Hai Mo said.
“No need, just get someone to lead the way.” Sima You Yue said, “The array has been fixed, so i think that you guys have things to discuss. We won’t bother Hall Master anymore.”
“How could we let you do that. No matter what, it won’t be something more important that sending Great Master off.” Zhou Hai Mo said.
He insisted on sending them off, and Sima You Yue did not turn them down either, so they left Heavenly Tiger Hall.
When they returned to the inn, Sima Lie and the others saw that the four of them had returned safely, so they heaved a sigh of relief.
“Grandpa, let us prepare for a bit. We’ll leave tomorrow.” Sima You Yue said, “How come Innkeeper Chou isn’t around?”
“He hasn’t been in the inn for a few days.” Sima Lie said, “What’s wrong? Is there something you need him for?”
“Nothing much. I just want to ask him something.” Sima You Yue said.
The servant happened to walk out from the hall and heard what she said. He said, “The shopkeeper from my clan said that you can wait for him for two days if you need him.”
“He knew that I wanted to look for him?” Sima You Yue asked curiously.
“He he, there’s nothing within this city that our Shopkeeper doesn’t know about.” The servant said rather narcissistically.
Sima You Yue nodded, and she went back up to her own room.
It made her super curious that the shopkeeper actually knew that she was looking for him.
Because Innkeeper Chou had yet to returned, Sima You Yue and the others waited another half a month. At least everyone was cultivating, and spent those days in seclusion.
Today, the servant came to inform Sima You Yue and the others that Innkeeper Chou had returned and invited them to go to the back hall to meet him.
It was called the back hall, but was actually really far away. She had never noticed it, but the entire area behind the inn was the back hall.
The servant brought them to a house and got her to enter it alone.
The house was dark, and one was unable to see what was happening inside once the door was shut.
“You’re hurt.” Sima You Yue said.
“Your nose is really sensitive.” Innkeeper Chou’s voice came from the darkness.
“The smell of blood is to strong. I couldn’t not smell it even if i wanted to.” Sima You Yue lit a small fire and illuminated the house. Shopkeeper zhou was currently lying on a throne. “What in the world did you go do to piss people off? You actually got this injured? Does that servant not know how injured you are?”
Innkeeper Chou gave a bitter laugh, saying, “I didn’t tell him. I was afraid of scaring him.”
“He’d find out the moment you died anyway.” Sima You Yue saw that the whole room was filled with light and threw the ball of fire across, lighting up the entire house. “What did you call me for?”
“I wanted to get your help in bringing the servant to Innumerable Green Temple. Cough cough- and hand him over to Soaring Cloud Palace’s palace master.” Innkeeper Chou said.
“So you’re actually someone from Innumerable Green Palace.” Sima You Yue said, “We’re not close. Aren’t you afraid I won’t’ agree to your request?”
“I naturally have something that will entice you.” Innkeeper Chou said.
“Then aren’t you afraid that I’ll just take your item and leave without completing the task?” She asked again.
“Ha ha…” Innkeeper Chou laughed, saying, “I’ve lived for many years. I’m rather good at seeing through people. You’re not that type of person.”
“You think too highly of me.” Sima You Yue said, “You’ve been beaten by someone to this state already, right? If I bring that servant and leave Heavenly Tiger Ridge, I’m afraid that someone will kill me before I even reach Innumerable Green Palace.”
“You truly are smart. Much smarter than I imagined.” Innkeeper Chou no longer kept up his greedy appearance and his aura was even stronger than Zhou Hai Mo’s. “Then are you willing or not? If you are willing, I will compensate you properly.”
Sima You Yue walked over and casually pulled a chair over, saying, “I’m truly interested in your compensatory item. Why don’t you let me hear it to see if it can pique my interest.”
Innkeeper Chou gave a thought, and a box appeared on the table beside them. Sima You Yue took that box and opened it. There was actually a large array stone inside.
The bigger an array stone was, the higher ranked array one could assemble. Most array stones were only around the size of a longan. The better ones were the size of a lychee. Even rarer were the ones that were about the size of an egg, but this one was actually the size of her palm!
This truly showed how important this was.
Even someone like her, who had experienced so much of the world, was visibly moved.
“How is it?” Innkeeper Chou asked.
Sima You Yue kept the box and said, “I’m thinking that if you have been constantly accumulating treasures, if you die and i steal them, you will definitely have items bigger than this array stone. In any case, your servant won’t be able to steal them. Who knows, if I take your head and hand it over to your enemy, how well will they compensate me?”
Innkeeper Chou listened silently to Sima You Yue. He was neither anxious nor angry. It was as if she was just joking. He waited for her to finish speaking, then he asked, “Do you agree to the trade or not?”
Sima You Yue saw that Innkeeper Chou did not flare up, and did not continue joking. She replied, “You really know how to adapt to the situation. I am rather interested in this array stone, but I am not interested in getting involved in your affairs.”
Innkeeper Chou’s eyes dimmed.
“However, I can make a deal with you.” She continued on.
“What deal?”
“I’ll heal your injuries and you give me this stone. As for your servant, it’s better for you to take care of him. Deal?”
Innkeeper Chou looked at Sima You Yue to confirm if she was joking of not. He eyes flashed with contemplation.
“Are you a doctor or an alchemist?”
“Both.” Sima You Yue said, “How about this? Do you agree or not? If you continue to drag this on, I won’t heal you. I’ll even increase the price!”
“You’re an array master.” Innkeeper Chou said.
“But this doesn’t stop me from being a first rate alchemist.”
“Deal.”
“Cool.” Sima You Yue patted her thigh, then placed the array and its box into her Spirit Pagoda. After that, she took out some needles and lay his throne flat. She peeled some of his clothes completely off, leaving only his underwear.
Innkeeper Chou saw Sima You Yue take out those needles and it was his first time seeing someone cure someone this way.
“Shouldn’t you give me some pills to eat? Why are you using needles?” He couldn’t help but ask.
“I’ll definitely give you some pills. However, some of your body has lost its function. If I don’t use these needles to revive them, it’s useless even if you ate pills.”
Sima You Yue took out a pill and forced it into his mouth when she finished speaking, using both hands of needles to relieve him of the poison. She took the needles and stabbed it into Innkeeper Chou’s body.
This was Innkeeper Chou’s first time being stabbed by needles, and he saw that she was actually targeting his major acupuncture points. He immediately knew that it was going to hurt.
As the needles pierced in, he subconsciously closed his eyes.
