The Great Thief

Chapter 1222 - Forgotten Souls

This System prompt served as an accompaniment to the attack that Ruling Sword led on the rabble of players.

The battle was over as quickly as it started, especially since Ruling Sword had tens of thousands of players flooding in from all sides. The four thousand players were quickly surrounded and wiped out. Even the four leaders couldn’t return to the city safely.

They didn’t even touch the core elite groups fighting the Boss, let alone influence the Boss fight by fighting Lu Li.

There were hundreds of pieces of equipment lying all over the ground. To put it bluntly, these players were just carriers of free equipment for Ruling Sword. Ruling Sword also took this opportunity as a demonstration of their strength.

For a time, these Blasted Lands were empty.

However, the World Announcements were now bustling once again with the four guild-led players beginning to disparage Ruling Sword in tears.

They had entered the Blasted Lands to seek justice, but Ruling Sword didn’t even give them time to speak before attacking.

This swaying of public opinion was not completely worthless. It had successful attracted a number of other players to denounce Ruling Sword. They said that after they had put in the initial hard work, they became tools of the guild which had forgotten where they had come from.

However, there were many other players who could discern the real situation. The ordinary players were being roped into a war of words.

Ruling Sword just ignored this, and eventually, the players got bored of complaining. In the end, there were only a few players left who cried out and they weren’t gaining any further traction.

After Lu Li and the others defeated the Boss, they immediately created a wall so as to ensure that neither a Thief nor a Druid would be able to Stealth and steal the equipment.

The little Hunter kissed her lucky hand and went up to loot the Boss.

There was a Synthetic Stone that increased resistance by 5%. This stone was useful for Armor and was definitely worthy of a level 60 Wild Boss.

Although it didn’t provide much resistance, it was an all-round resistance which included fire, shadow, ice and even physical resistance.

If they didn’t have the Lady Sevine Talisman, Lu Li and the others would have had a low chance of killing her. There was no shortage of Synthetic Stones on the market, but few of them provided 5% resistance.

The average player wasn’t high-levelled enough to use this stone, so Lu Li assigned it to Azure Sea Breeze, specifying that it should be placed on his shield.

Six Strengthening Stones were then dropped. This was one of the benefits of fighting a Wild Boss as opposed to an Instance Dungeon Boss. When the Boss fell, a number of players also received Skill Points.

There was also a Warlock Skill Book. There weren’t any Warlocks fighting this Boss, but a Warlock Skill Book had dropped nonetheless, so that was lucky for them.

When fighting a Wild Boss, Rare Materials were one of the most important drops. If a Rare Material that was exclusive to that Boss dropped, the Boss fight would have been worth it.

The Rare Material looted by Remnant Dream was called Forgotten Souls and it looked like a pile of sludge.

This was the first time Lu Li had heard of Forgotten Souls, let alone Remnant Dream. Lu Li had experienced rebirth and had done extensive research in his previous life. Although he obviously wouldn’t remember all the names of the rare materials, he should have been able to recognize it at the very least.

However, one shouldn’t be so naïve to think that just because no one had ever heard of it, this meant that it was rare and valuable.

There were two conditions for a rare material to be worth a high price. The first was that it was very difficult to find, and the second was that it was in high demand. If only one of these conditions were fulfilled, then it wouldn’t be worth much.

Elwynn Forest had a level 15 Wild Boss Terrapis which produced a Rare Material called a Jade Shell. There were no other Bosses that could drop this item, which made it very rare. However, there were few players that would go looking for this Boss for this material because it had no effects at all.

Only Lu Li had sent players to kill this Boss. At present, Ruling Sword’s guild warehouse had accumulated at least 100 of this material.

This was because Lu Li knew that a Shield Mold which would be dropped at level 60 could be buffed by adding a Jade Shell.

When that time came, the major guilds would be faced with a dilemma. Should they focus their resources on competing for this level 15 Boss? This Boss was so easy to kill, but there were many other ordinary players to compete with.

The reason why Lu Li had offended some high-level players in his previous life was because of Terrapis.

At that time, he had stolen a Jade Shell as it dropped from the Boss under the noses of some high-level players. This was undoubtedly kicking the hornet’s nest. What was more depressing was that he had been intercepted and had lost the Jade Shell, so he couldn’t reconcile with them. He couldn’t buy another Jade Shell to compensate them either.

Now that he had been reborn, he no longer needed to fear these high-level players.

As for Terrapis, only he knew how important this Boss was, so until most players reached level 60, it would only be Ruling Sword that carried these items.

Unlike the Jade Shell, Lu Li didn’t know what the Forgotten Souls did.

He carefully put the material away, thinking that it would become useful in future, just like the Jade Shell.

After the materials had been looted, it was now time for the equipment.

Remnant Dream looted three Gold equipment in one go. Their Attributes weren’t too bad, but they were still just Gold equipment. As such, they were placed in the guild warehouse and marked for exchange. This was a form of welfare from the guild. Ordinarily, these players wouldn’t be able to get these items from a level 60 Boss. These Gold equips were still worth quite a bit of money.

Then, there came five pieces of Dark Gold equipment. These couldn’t be handled casually.

A Warlock item was taken by Sesame Rice Ball for a high number of points, while a Priest item fell into the hands of Machine Bro who also paid a significant amount. These points were used as the guild’s reward for those who had participated in the battle.

A piece of Paladin Armor was taken by Wandering. It was a blood-red Armor that looked quite beautiful.

The remaining two items were for Magic Professions, and were evaluated to be quite expensive. Originally, Lu Li intended for Kitty Likes Meat to be prioritised, but eventually gave up on that idea.

Kitty Likes Meat’s strength wouldn’t increase by much, so it was better to give it someone else.

However, this was not all. A level 60 Wild Boss would be a joke if it didn’t drop any Epic items. Even if the unlucky Lu Li looted this Boss, he would have found at least two Epic items.
