Chapter 157
Long Juo was ecstatic once she saw Fang Yu downed by the poison needle.
“Hmph, no First Stage practitioner can withstand my Leader’s poison needle!” Long Juo said proudly, staring down at the unconscious Fang Yu.
“You should have always kept your guard up!”
From the way she talked about this Leader of hers, it was obvious she was not talking about any master from the Immortal God Sect! This means that she was under someone else’s command the whole time she was in the Solstice Kingdom.
This means Long Juo was a spy!
“He, I did not expect that a minion of that person will be here.” The whip-bearing woman who can still move said while clutching her whip tightly. Her eyes which was alert earlier began to tense up more after discovering Long Juo’s identity.
“So you know about our ‘Esteemed Leader’. Then you should know what He wants.” Long Juo then gave a level stare at the whip woman. Long Juo smirked as she said,
“I know that the reason your ‘Father’ sent you here was the same as mine. We both want THEM.” The whip woman bowed her head, clearly ignoring Long Juo’s rambling,
“Do not deny it anymore, my Leader had eyes everywhere, and he knows everything!”
The whip woman could not take it anymore as she answered back,
“S**t, who was it?” Long Juo looked around her, trying to see if anyone was spying them. “Was it the minions of Bar Kahn? Maybe the followers of the Monster King?”
Long Juo gritted her teeth, looking quite peeved by what happened.
“Ugh! If I just stored Fang Yu earlier, this would not have happened!” Long Juo stared at the perplexed whip women, who just looked as confused as her.
“Hey, you three, do you have no idea who else might be here?”
“Heh, even if we do know, why should we tell that to you? From what we can see, you are a treacherous vixen, and that you cannot be trusted.”
“…….”
That statement may sound insulting at first, but Long Juo realized what the trio was implying. The way they criticized her trustworthiness made her realize what they want.
“So you three wants to team up with me huh.”
“…..”
Right now, this was the best bet for the both of them. They had the same goal, and it was now taken by another party.
“So we will team up to get Fang Yu out from that unknown kidnapper.” The trio laid down the basic goal of their cooperation. “During the ‘rescue’ mission, we will not do anything detrimental against each other. We must be temporary allies, and all our animosity must be ignored at that moment.”
“Yeah, basically, that’s it.” Long Juo seemed to be satisfied with the groundwork laid down by the trio.
“But what about after that?” The trio was referring to what they will do next after obtaining Fang Yu.
“After we ‘save’ her?” Long Juo smirked as she said, “Then we go back to being enemies.”
“Well said.” The seemingly leader of the whip women then asked, “Do we need to swear with our Dao Souls?”
“No, but I have something more binding than that.” Long Juo then straightened herself as she said,
“I swear with my ‘Esteemed Leader’s’ name, that I, Long Juo, will abide by the agreement laid down this day.”
After she said that, she felt a pair of eyes looking at her. She felt it probing deep inside her, feeling her whole being.
“Ah!” Long Juo let out a moan when she realized that her oath has taken effect.
“….” The trio stared solemnly at what Long Juo did. They knew that swearing under the name of her ‘Leader’ was more binding in this situation.
The trio knew that the ‘Leader’ and their ‘Father’ were powerful beings, and that oaths made in their name was just as effective as swearing using the Dao Souls. Well, as long as the one who made the oath has a lower cultivation base than them.
But what made Long Juo’s oath more effective was that her oath put the integrity of her organization in line. That means is she breaks her oath, even the honor of her organization will be tarnished.
That, for Long Juo, was way worse than dying from breaking her oath.
“Damn vixen…” The trio knew another reason why Long Juo used such oath.
Long Juo was just one person so if she breaks her oath, she will die immediately. But the whip women had three of them.
If they used the normal Dao Soul Oath, one of them can just betray them midway that will lead to her death. But because they were three, they will still have two remaining members.
That means Long Juo had no way to betray them, while the trio have two chances to double-cross Fang Yu.
With the honor of the organization put in line, the trio will not even dare to betray Long Juo. If they did a betrayal, even if two of them will survive, their organization’s name will be tarnished. That, for them was also worse than death.
The three whip women then made their oath in the name of the ‘Great Father’. Once they finished that, Long Juo and the trio prepared to track the enemy.
But before they could leave, they sensed a powerful presence approaching them from above. They looked up, and they saw a spirit ship descending.
Before they could prepare, they saw a person jumping out of the spirit ship. He landed in the ground, with his fighting aura emanating from him.
Long Juo’s vigilance heightened when she saw who the new arrival was.
“What are you doing here Fang Xiushang!”
“What I am doing here?” Fang Xiushang smiled smugly as he raised his hands in the air. From her position, Long Juo could see that his palms were filled with symbols that seemed familiar to her.
“Well, I am here to test a legacy I just received.”
Two symbols suddenly let out a light on Fang Xiushang’s palms. Long Juo squinted her eyes to see what the symbols were.
The symbols were ♂ and ♀.
Upon seeing this, warning bells, sounded inside Long Juo’s head, telling her that whatever Fang Xiushang was planning to do must be stopped immediately!
The whip women thought the same as they rushed towards Fang Xiushang, with their whips striking towards him. Long Juo brandished her staff in her right hand, and she held a set of needles on her left. She took no liberty as she threw the needles towards Fang Xiushang’s joints.
She threw it in such a way that even if Fang Xiushang tried to dodge, he will still get his by at least one.
“Hmph, let’s see you get out alive today.” Long Juo thought smugly as she imagined an unconscious Fang Xiushang being flayed and pounded to death.
“Sigh, is this what you all can do?” Fang Xiushang sighed miserably as if he found the attacks thrown at him pathetic.
He lifted his right foot high in the air. While it was there, Long Juo could see that his foot was covered in four colors, red, blue, brown and black. These colors mixed together, until they were indistinguishable from one another.
Fang Xiushang then stomped it hard towards the ground.
“Boom!”
Fang Lin’s stomp was so powerful that is produced shockwaves from the point of impact. The shockwaves distorted the airflow, scattering the needles in the air. They fell to the ground, not managing to reach Fang Xiushang at all.
Long Juo and the trio spurted blood as the shockwaves hit them head-on. Their organs quivered as the power from the attack penetrated their bodies.
“Just one attack and you 4 are down? How pathetic.” Fang Xiushang had a disappointed look on his face as he stared down at his defeated enemies.
Long Juo tried to move, but that attack from earlier gave her internal injuries. She could not even find the power to circulate her mana. The whip women were in the same dilemma, as they lay on the ground struggling to stand up.
“Well, now that you four are defenseless now, I am sure this spell I will use will not be rejected at all.” Fang Xiushang let out an evil smirk as he sent his palms towards Long Juo’s temple.
Long Juo could see the symbols ♂ and ♀ leaving his palms and entering her head. Once inside, she felt an enormous upheaval that brought her an instinctive sense of panic. She tried to resist it, but to her chagrin, she found out that she could not due to her injuries!
If she were not this injured, she can easily remove the marks inside her body. But her current state left her defenseless.
Her whole body became paralyzed as she felt an unknown energy circulating on her body. As for what it did to her, she still does not know.
A minute passed by, and Long Juo saw the symbols leaving her body, and returning to Fang Xiushang’s palms. They lost their luster, and they were back to their normal, dim state.
Fang Xiushang tilted his head as he muttered,
“So this spell cost me a third of my energy. Hmm… that means my other spells’ consumption could at least be equal to it.” Fang Xiushang then looked at Long Juo, who was staring back at him incredulously.
“…….”
“……..”
“Wow, I did not expect that spell to do this.” Fang Xiushang eyes roved all over Long Juo’s body, as if he wanted to imprint the sight in front of him.
“Maybe its just me… but you look way cooler now.”
Long Juo then took this as a cue to inspect herself. Her eyes widened in horror when she saw what happened to her body. Her mouth went wide open in shock as she her hands trembled out of fury.
“What the hell did you do to me!!!”
