Growing Fond of You, Mr Nian

Chapter 620 - : Luosang Had Chills All Over

One of the waiters served them coffee. Luosang picked up the cup, blew on the drink, and took a small sip. It was extremely bitter. She could finally understand the dilemma when one was caught between two things that they loved. “Although you say you have evidence, how do I know if it’s real or fake? I have no way to judge what you are offering.”

“It’s a voice recording between Zeng Lijuan and Yi Jingxi.” Jiang Qifei maintained a smug posture. She adjusted herself in her seat slightly and continued, “I believe you know about the fact that she died in a car accident. After she died, the recording ended up in her boyfriend’s hands. He has been blackmailing Yi Jingxi with the recording ever since. Yi Jingxi has been wiring money into his account under the name of a foreign shell company. I obtained the recording a few days ago. I can safely tell you that your father was wronged. It was all a setup planned by Yi Jingxi. Zeng Lijuan was an orphan. That’s why Yi Jingxi paid her off. She had no background, no family, nothing to hold onto. Someone else raped her, but Yi Jingxi paid her to testify against your father. Do you remember back then when the police conducted an examination? They couldn’t find a specimen with your father’s semen because she said that he used protection, but they found his skin scraping under her nails. It was her testimony along with his assistant, his son-in-law, colleagues, and friends that influenced the verdict.”

Luosang had chills all over. Although she already knew Yi Jingxi had a part to play in the case, it was something else entirely to hear it from another person. Her own fiancé was not only a witness, but he was also the perpetrator behind the entire incident. Why had he hurt her and her father so badly?

“You are very angry, aren’t you?” Jiang Qifei looked at her expression with satisfaction. “Yi Jingxi betrayed your feelings, put your father in jail, and took away everything that belonged to you. He turned you from a high society missy to a street rat overnight. Don’t you want to punish him accordingly and reclaim what you’ve lost?”

“I need to listen to the recording. Who knows if you’re lying about this?” Luosang said through gritted teeth.

“I’m not dumb enough to bring my bargaining chip with me. It’s the only thing I have over you. If we started fighting, you’re probably much stronger than me.” Jiang Qifei pursed her red lips. “I have a short clip on my phone if you want to listen.”

She opened her phone and clicked the play button. Yi Jingxi’s raspy voice began streaming. “If you dare to take the chance, I’ll send you overseas after this…” The recording stopped abruptly.

Jiang Qifei put away her phone. “You should be familiar with your fiancé’s voice.”

Luosang closed her eyes. She was. She was familiar with his voice, indeed. She would remember that voice until the day she died. Even if Jiang Qifei didn’t play her the clip, she would have believed her 80 percent.

Nian Junting had found out about Zeng Lijuan and her boyfriend, but by the time they found her boyfriend, he told them that he had been robbed a couple of days before, and his phone was stolen. They thought it was Yi Jingxi. So, it was actually Jiang Qifei.

“I’m bewildered. How did you find the evidence so much faster than Nian Junting?” Luosang looked at her curiously.

“You don’t need to know.” Jiang Qifei laughed. She stood up and said, “If you don’t want it, it’s fine. I heard that your father’s health is in poor condition in prison. He probably won’t last too much longer.”
