Mr Fu, I Really Love You

Chapter 502 - Held Up From Being a Mega Celebrity by His President Position

The lady then brought the camera to the pantry on that level. The decor was so classy it left one breathless.

The lady was familiar with all those brands though, even sticking her tongue out in an adorable manner and asking if she should secretly slip the ultra-pricey red tea into her pockets and sneak it home.

In the comments, the audience was telling her to just steal it, that they would pretend they saw nothing.

Others requested that she introduce the handsome men of the Kaide Corporation before starting the interview with Fu Huai’an…

The interview was still 15 minutes away. Lin Nuan didn’t charge her phone last night and was only left with 25% battery on her phone. She found a cafe, then went in and ordered a latte and rented a charger. She found a secluded corner and sat down, waiting for Fu Huai’an’s interview to commence.

Lin Nuan felt a little weird. He was obviously her husband, yet she had to watch his interview in secret while wearing earphones.

As she raised her coffee mug and took a sip, Lin Nuan leaned back comfortably in her seat…

On the phone, the lady had pushed open the door of the President’s Office, an uncontrollable excitement in her voice. “See this? This interview will be shown on TV next Friday.”

Through the cracks of the door, Lin Nuan saw Fu Huai’an seated behind his large office desk on the screen. He was wearing a suit jacket, and his head was turned sideways as he said something to Little Lu. His actions exuded a noble and domineering aura.

In the office, the lighting had already been set up. The cameraman got someone to sit on the sofa, then after looking at the camera, decided to adjust the lighting. The interviewer was sitting by the side, making a final adjustment to her makeup and attire.

From her peripheral vision, Lin Nuan sensed that someone had just sat down opposite her. Lin Nuan looked up…

A haggard-looking woman had just sat down opposite of Lin Nuan. She was wearing an iron V-neck sweater, wide-legged pants, high heels, and carrying a black shoulder bag. With waist-length hair falling over her shoulders in soft curls, she exuded an intellectual charm and competency.

Lin Nuan recognized that the woman before her was the one she had run into in the underground parking lot the other day—Lu Qili.

She recalled that at the time, Lu Qili’s stepfather was tugging at her and even got physical when the two of them quarreled.

The waiter came up and asked Lu Qili what she wanted to drink. Lu Qili ordered a latte, just like the one Lin Nuan was having, then closed the menu and returned it to the waiter and thanked him.

There were obviously still one or two empty tables around, but Lu Qili had deliberately chosen to sit opposite of Lin Nuan. She was gazing intensely at Lin Nuan. Even though Lu Qili preserved her coquettish demeanor, the thick foundation couldn’t conceal the dark circles under her eyes, betraying her tiredness and pallidness.

After the waiter left, Lu Qili set her bag aside at a corner of the table and smiled as she asked, “Mind if I sit down here?”

The video on Lin Nuan’s screen continued playing. Under the tweed cap, Lin Nuan’s exquisite facial features were illuminated by the light from the screen. The corners of her lips turned up, making her appear charming.

“I mind, but haven’t you already sat down?”

It was rare for Lin Nuan to speak so harshly, perhaps it was because… they were both women, and Lin Nuan could tell from the way Lu Qili called out “Huai’an” that she harbored feelings towards him that exceeded that of a subordinate towards her boss, hence she wasn’t fond of Lu Qili.

Lu Qili didn’t mind at all, merely laughing as she faced Lin Nuan. Her body was leaning comfortably against the sofa, her vision sweeping over the Fu Huai’an that had appeared on Lin Nuan’s screen. Her slim and long fingers with red nail polish clenched slightly as she looked up at Lin Nuan. “You’re kind of interesting…”

“Miss Lu is even more interesting…” Lin Nuan locked her phone screen, expressionless. She took her phone off the table and habitually turned on the voice recording function, then took out a 100-yuan note from her wallet and made a move to leave.

“Did you know Fu Huai’an used to love Lu Xiangsi with his life?” Lu Qili gazed at Lin Nuan calmly as she asked.

Lin Nuan’s clean and clear gaze swept over Lu Qili as she stood up and slung her bag over her shoulder, her phone in her hand as she laughed. “This, I’ve heard. Miss Lu isn’t the first… woman to tell me this.”

Lin Nuan had put special emphasis on the word “woman.” Lu Qili’s smile dimmed.

“Someone also told me I look very similar to Lu Xiangsi…” Lin Nuan spoke in a straightforward, nonchalant manner.

As Lin Nuan brushed shoulders with Lu Qili, the latter grabbed Lin Nuan’s wrist. “Sit down, I have something to tell you!”

Lin Nuan retracted her arm from Lu Qili’s hand. “I don’t think I have anything to say to Miss Lu…”

“Lin Nuan!” Lu Qili spoke in a hushed voice. “If you leave right now, within an hour, the truth behind Tuan Tuan’s identity will be exposed to the public. Do you believe that?”

The minute Lin Nuan heard this, she felt repulsed. What little sympathy she had felt towards Lu Qili also vanished in that instant.

“I don’t understand what Miss Lu means by this. What truth can you expose about Tuan Tuan’s identity? That Tuan Tuan isn’t Huai’an’s son but someone else’s?” Lin Nuan was careful not to misspeak. “What a joke!”

Lu Qili didn’t detect Lin Nuan’s intentions, still speaking in a hushed voice as she said, “Actually, you only admitted to being Tuan Tuan’s mother in order to please Fu Huai’an. You don’t love Tuan Tuan at all, do you?”

“Miss Lu…” Lin Nuan turned around to gaze at Lu Qili, then, in a leisurely manner, retrieved her mask from her bag. She snickered. “I’m less than impressed by Miss Lu’s combat power. Aren’t you being ridiculous, using Tuan Tuan to threaten me? Other than that, what other tricks do you have up your sleeves? Look… even if I were to leave right now, would you really dare to fabricate a lie saying that Tuan Tuan isn’t Huai’an’s son? You wouldn’t dare… because you fear Huai’an!”

Lu Qili could understand Lin Nuan’s words, but others wouldn’t be able to comprehend what she said… because Tuan Tuan was neither Lin Nuan’s nor Fu Huai’an’s child!

Lu Qili gritted her teeth, but her gaze was no longer as calm as before. “I’m merely speaking the truth. What am I scared of?”

“Then go ahead and reveal your so-called truth. There’s no need to inform me about it!” Lin Nuan sounded relaxed.

“Lin Nuan!”

Lu Qili stood up angrily, causing those surrounding them to look in their direction.

Lin Nuan then put on her mask in a slow and unperturbed manner, saying after she slipped her phone into her bag, “Chu Xun is my boss, she too is fond of Huai’an. She can remove me from the program and shelf me, but what can you do? You’re no threat to me, and you want to threaten me?”

Lin Nuan’s gaze was full of condescension. “In the past, I pitied you for your family background, but now… I despise you. Those tricks you employ are so cliché that even novels have stopped using them!”

When she went to the counter to return the charger, Lin Nuan vaguely heard the cafe employee comment as they watched Fu Huai’an’s interview, speaking in a low voice… saying that Fu Huai’an was held up from being a mega-celebrity by his president position!
