Chapter 508 - Not Looking at All Guilty
The kindergarten teacher got nervous, fearing Lin Nuan might lash out at those two kids.
Initially, the kindergarten had wanted to explain things when Fu Huai’an and Lin Nuan arrived, mitigating the incident…
In Haicheng, this kindergarten was considered a highly prestigious and elite kindergarten; the fees it charged every year were exorbitant, so one could imagine how precious these kindergarten kids were!
If she didn’t manage to handle this matter and things blew up with the parents… The parents were all wealthy and influential people, as were the bosses behind this kindergarten; in the end, the kindergarten teachers would be the ones suffering the brunt of things.
Lin Nuan understood what the two kids meant. She patted Tuan Tuan on the head and stood up, then looked at the kindergarten teacher. “It seems like you haven’t figured things out here?”
The kindergarten teacher looked a little sheepish being asked that by Lin Nuan. She then saw Lin Nuan turn her head around to look at the two little ones who were standing perfectly straight. Lin Nuan bent over and asked, “Was what Tuan Tuan and his friend said true?”
The two little kids glanced at each other, then lowered their heads with their eyes reddened—this meant they were admitting to it…
Kids their age were usually pampered at home; if they were so much as wronged by a tiny little bit, they would jump up and explain like a cat with fried fur.
Lin Nuan squatted and spoke to the two little kids, saying, “You, Tuan Tuan, Little Candy, and Little Happy are all classmates at the same kindergarten. You play together in school, and it’s normal to get into fights occasionally. But to push Little Candy down from the stairs on the slide, do you not think that’s overboard? You’re no longer two- or three-year-old kids, you’re all big kids now. Auntie doesn’t want to say things to coax you. You just think about it yourself. Little Candy even bled. Isn’t that serious?”
Lin Nuan didn’t reprimand and lecture the moment she opened her mouth; instead, she knelt down to eye-level with them. She didn’t coax them like they were little kids but spoke to them like they were big kids. Those two little kids weren’t averse to that. They looked up at Lin Nuan, their eyes even redder now.
“You guys play together, and everyone has their own strengths and shortcomings. Tuan Tuan doesn’t speak eloquently because he has had little interaction with other kids in the past. In the future, as you play together more often, he’ll definitely be able to speak more eloquently. Little Candy isn’t without a father. It’s just that her father and mother aren’t staying together for the time being. Little Happy also has a father and mother. They’re just not staying together. Who doesn’t have a father and mother? They’re not like the Monkey God who came into existence out of nowhere!”
Lin Nuan’s voice carried a slight smile. One of the little kids raised a hand to rub his eyes.
“We all have hands… look, even our fingers have different lengths, don’t they? The same goes for humans; we all have our strengths and shortcomings. Everyone has something others can’t compare to, and everyone has something they’re terrific at. For instance, although Tuan Tuan doesn’t speak eloquently, he’s helpful and kind-hearted towards other people. He also never gets into trouble and is good at drawing. Although Little Candy is a little fierce, she’s also cheerful and brings joy to other people wherever she goes. I’m not familiar with Little Happy here, but I can tell he has a strong sense of justice. I’m sure there’s also a quality about you that others cannot compare to, am I right?”
Hearing Mama seriously praise him, Tuan Tuan’s ears turned red in an instant. His bright and large eyes stared at Lin Nuan, his eyes even redder now. His mama was so wonderful! The greatest mama in the whole world! She didn’t mind the fact that he didn’t speak eloquently, and instead found him to be kind and helpful, and she also complimented him for drawing well!
Hence Tuan Tuan decided he was going to do a few more drawings for Mama when he got back home!
Little Happy, who was also complimented, happily clenched his fists. His father had never praised him like that and would only say… Little Happy, why do you keep making trouble!
The two little kids before Lin Nuan fought to speak first…
“I eat especially well!”
The kindergarten teacher was speechless.
This wasn’t something to be proud of!
“My handwriting is nice!” another kid said.
“Then you two are terrific too! But to say that Tuan Tuan doesn’t speak well, that Little Candy is fatherless, that Little Happy is motherless, and to have pushed Little Candy down the stairs wasn’t right, do you agree? Little Candy is even bleeding now and in hospital. We’re not even sure what her condition is now…”
The two little kids recognized their mistakes and had their heads lowered, not making a sound.
“You’re all innocent and good kids. It’s good if you can realize your mistakes and not make them again. When Little Candy comes back, be sure to apologize to her, as well as her mother. Ok?” Lin Nuan spoke.
Seeing the two kids nod, the kindergarten teacher didn’t know what to say.
Why didn’t Tuan Tuan’s mother just come here to be their kindergarten teacher? Including Little Candy, the three most troublesome little kids in the kindergarten, the little bullies there, were ones the kindergarten teacher couldn’t handle and dared not trifle with. Tuan Tuan’s mother only had to ask them to apologize, and the two of them complied and obediently nodded their heads. What was going on around here?
Lin Nuan, who debuted from Haicheng Radio Station, had a gentle and pleasant-sounding voice to begin with. Plus, when she talked to kids, she deliberately made her voice even more gentle, like that of a trickling current, and so the two kids were receptive to what she said.
The kindergarten teacher had anticipated this to be a full-blown war after Tuan Tuan and Little Happy recounted their side of the story, and she was feeling anxious about it, but now she could finally relax.
Little Happy charged over angrily, saying to those two little kids, “You also said I have no mother! And also called Tuan Tuan a little stutterer. You must apologize!”
Little Happy was behaving cockily, and he didn’t bother going easy on the two of them. One of those two kids then complained to Lin Nuan, saying, “Happy called me a little beast!”
Another followed suit. “Happy called me a coward!”
“Then, I apologize! You need to apologize to me too!” Little Happy spoke loudly and earnestly.
Lin Nuan was rendered speechless.
Where in the world did people apologize like Little Happy, with an imposing air and not looking at all guilty?
The other two kids were speechless as well. They apologized to Tuan Tuan and then to Little Happy.
Tuan Tuan was like a little mud monkey, making one unable to look at him. The same was true for Little Happy and the other two. Lin Nuan thought of taking Tuan Tuan back home, but then she saw Little Happy, who was standing on the same line with Tuan Tuan, and wondered if the kindergarten teacher would allow her to take Little Happy away with her.
Just then, Little Happy’s father arrived…
Little Happy happily ran towards his own father, eloquently explaining what happened to his livid-looking father.
His father froze momentarily when he saw Lin Nuan, apparently recognizing her. His gaze subconsciously swept to Tuan Tuan, who was standing by Lin Nuan’s side and hugging onto her leg. He then knew Tuan Tuan’s identity.
