Chapter 922 - A Ridiculous Demand
Pengzhan had just finished dealing with Zhang Zhaoji’s unreasonable demands- and now, the Xiao family was knocking on his door!
Pengzhan turned and enter the resting room in his office. The Xiaos, on the other hand, simply smiled coldly, not following him in.
In the room, Pengzha made a call to his daughter, but decided to hang up after some thinking. She was still in school, so he decided to call Lin Yi instead.
“Uncle Chu!” Lin Yi was currently at Guan Xuemin’s house, with Fatty Lai and Kang Xiaobo. There were still some things he had to deal with before leaving.
“Yi, there’s something I wanted to ask you- it’s about Yao Yao and a person called Ju Huli…” Pengzhan asked.
“Oh? Ju Huli?” Lin Yi blinked as he remembered the person. He told Pengzhan what took place that day, “But, it’s been a while since this happened. Why are you asking about this now, Uncle Chu?”
“Ju Huli is the wife of House Xiao’s Xiao Ji- they’ve come knocking on my door…” Pengzhan sighed.
From what Lin Yi said, Mengyao and Shu did have some fault when the incident began, but it was simply a small conflict- they had only splashed her clothes, after all, and both girls had offered to pay and apologized as well. Ju Huli was the one taking things too far.
But now the Xiaos were using this incident to claim that what Yao Yao did was humiliation… It seemed like the Xiaos were full of hostility at this point.
“Oh?” Lin Yi paused, “They’re Xiaos from Yanjing? Have they come to you?”
Lin Yi wasn’t expecting the enemy to make their move this fast- it had been a while since the incident happened, but the Xiaos never responded with anything. They just had to choose the time where Uncle Fu was suffering, along with his own loss of ability… There must have been something more to this than what met the eye.
Yet, there was nothing Lin Yi could do! He’d only met these two people from the House Xiao once, and from the perspective of strength… there wasn’t any power advantage he had over them at all!
“Ha ha, it’s nothing, I’ll be able to handle it. Just wanted to confirm it with you first, don’t worry.” Pengzhan sighed, finding himself lucky that Zhi Zun had just arrived- otherwise, these Xiaos would have most probably been taking huge bites out of him today.
After hanging up on Lin Yi, Pengzhan exited the resting room and looked at the Xiao brothers before turning to the old man with them. His eyes hardened.
Pengzhan hadn’t noticed the person before, but from a more closer look, he could see just how thick the killing intent on this person was. Pengzhan may be a normal man, but even he could feel a chill when facing a master like this.
Could this be the legendary Uncle Pi of the Xiao family he had heard about? If it were, then these Xiaos were definitely here to scheme.
“Mister Xiao, I’ve made the phone call, but it seems that the blame doesn’t lie upon my daughter alone, does it?” Pengzhan said without backing off, “If we’re placing fault, it seems that your wife’s attiude wasn’t the most amicable as well!”
“What the f-?? What’d you say?” Xiao Ji burst at Pengzhan’s words, “We Xiaos don’t need you teaching us what to do!”
Xiao Ji himself used to be a tyrant young master before the old man passed, always getting into fights with the same tyrant type of people, causing trouble all around. The Xiaos, however, were at their peak back then- so it was fine.
While the Xiaos have weakened a little these past few years, they hadn’t changed the tyrant within the young master’s heart- it didn’t take much to enrage him.
Pengzhan wasn’t expecting an outburst this undignified from Xiao Ji, with him blasting out at people at the sight of one disagreeable word. Was this really how someone with a background should be speaking?
“Mister Xiao, what do you mean to do?” Pengzhan kept his composure, “I assume you’re here to cause truoble, then?”
“So what if I am? I’m not scared to tell you that taking revenge for my wife is exactly why I’m here today!” Xiao Ji scoffed and put a foot on the office table, “Who do you think you are, bullying the Xiaos? You don’t want to live anymore, is that it? We can stray from our former peak glory all we want, we’re still one of the noble houses- who the hell do you, Chu Pengzhan, think you are??”
Wei Zhi Zun merely stood aside, as if watching a movie- Pengzhan hadn’t told him to do anything yet, after all, so there was no harm in him enjoying himself first. The more dangerous a situation was, the better he’d look when he stepped in to solve it.
“So that’s it, Xiao Ji? Just tell me what you want,” Pengzhan didn’t believe that Xiao Ji and Xiao Ben were just here to yell cusses at him- there was an ulterior motive.
“Alright, brother, calm down first- let me talk to Mister Chu!” Xiao Ben was quite pleased with his elder brother’s actions. By giving Pengzhan a taste of their strength first, it’d make things easier for the negotiation later. So, he decided to play the good cop card.
“I believe that Mister Chu is a smart man, he’ll give us compensation, isn’t that right, Mr. Chu?”
“Hmph!” Only then did Xiao Ji sit down on the sofa with a grunt, frustrated.
“Just tell me what you want?” Pengzhan knew already what these people came here for- naturally, they were using an excuse to take something from him!
“Very well!” Xiao Ben nodded, looking at Pengzhan, “Us Xiaos, we’re a powerful house- but we’re not as strong as we used to be. Yet, we’re not someone you can just cross and leave like that. If you were to leave this behind without paying for it, that’d be an insult to our house.
“What kind of payment do you want, exactly?” Pengzhan said, hiding the anger in his voice. These people took their time coming up here even though the incident had been so long ago, and the timing was impeccable, too, with both Li Fu and Lin Yi injured! Pengzhan suspected that they’d only come after hearing the news.
“We don’t want much. House Xiao came to Songshan for business, in the first place. Let’s see, Mr. Chu- why don’t you give your Pengzhan Shopping Center and Pengzhan Hotel to us, along with a small amount of two hundred million? We’ll just let things go if the proper compensation is paid,” Xiao Ben spat out- this sort of thing, after all, need to start with negotiating from the highest price and the lowest price before coming to a middle gorund for compromise… The look on Pengzhan’s face, too, gave him confidence that there wasn’t much he could do against this demand.
“That’s a ridiculous demand,” Pengzhan jumped at the demand- if these people were asking for a few million or the rights to a business in some part of Songshan, Pengzhan might have very well agreed to it- but what they had just said was simply ridiculous!
