Chapter 119 - A Good-looking Girl

“Senior Brother Qi, who do you think will win?”

“Miss Lu.” He answered firmly.

“So sure? Pharmacologist Qin is a walking medicine though!”

“Yeah, and Miss Lu looks like she’s still new…..”

“We bet on her to win!”

This reason shut all the youngsters up.

The youngsters then diverted their attention towards the elevated stage. They realized that the official was having some difficulties.

Since they were making copies of the given medicine, it was necessary for the official to have a sample for comparison. Yet the one from the Hall of Immortals was in Miss Lu’s stomach right now…

They had no choice but to ask the clerk to bring one more box here.

“Miss Lu, please double check.” The man pointed to him.

Lu Mingshu took one and popped it into her mouth. “Yes, it’s this one.”

“Official, please.”

The best method for identification was taste. The official first ate the pill given by the Hall of Immortals, then the one that Lu Mingshu made. Under the witness of all the spectators, she then stated, “… It’s totally the same.”

The crowd was surprised with the results and spectators started buzzing. This girl who manufactures pills like a newbie made a copy of the pill? The official stated that it was completely the same. That means that she got all the correct ingredients and measurements!

What kind of tongue does she have? Does this mean that, as long as she tastes it, she can determine one’s secret recipe?

The bunch of youngsters were taken aback by this. “Really awesome.”

Qi Sheng’s mouth was wide open. He had been doing this for years and he knew the weight of the four words: “It’s totally the same.” Even if it were his own master, he did dare not say that his copy of the medicine was “totally the same.”

This sentence sent Pharmacologist Qin to the edge of his seat. He couldn’t help but throw helpless glances at his boss around the corner.

The pill that Lu Mingshu had taken out was cut into many small pieces. The official took one and popped it into his mouth.

In an instant, the fresh mint taste flowed down his throat and entered his stomach like a warm current, immersing the official in an inexpressible blanket of comfort.

The official was startled by the effect as the raging waves filled his heart, but he remained emotionless. After the effect died down, he took the one that Pharmacologist Qin made.

“The ingredients are the same.” He started slowly, “But there’s only fifty per cent of the effect.”

The spectators started discussing things amongst themselves.

One was totally the same while the other one only had fifty per cent of the effect. The results were out.

The man plastered a smile on his face and sent the official back to his seat before he made the announcement. “Miss Lu wins this round!”

Those who bet on Miss Lu cheered and threw the rewards onto the stage.

Eighty per cent of them had bet on Pharmacologist Qin. The twenty per cent that bet on Miss Lu got double the rewards.

At the corner, the boss stood up in anger.

Lose? Just like that? How could it be? We spent millions and years on the walking medicine Pharmacologist Qin and yet we lost to a teenage girl?

Yet it had been proofed by the imperial pharmacy’s official. It was a truth that could not be denied.

The boss folded the fan in his hand and immediately came up with a countermeasure. He tidied his clothes and walked towards the elevated stage with a smile.

The feast at Divine Restaurant was still ongoing.

“I heard that the barbarians are here for Qilin festival?”

“They should be. Ask Brother Shao. He should know the best. The Nine Jade Palace fought them.”

All the attention was directed to him, and Shao Zhengyang nodded. “Yeah, our Elder An got into a bit of a fight with the barbarians.”

“Oooh, so what was the result?”

“Just a shot, I couldn’t really tell.” Shao Zhengyang shook his head.

Someone asked, “Brother Kou, did the queen really invite the barbarians?”

“Yea! The barbarians and mankind vow to never stand together, what the hell is she thinking?”

Someone sulked, “Sit with the barbarians? Over my dead body!”

Kou Wei replied calmly. “Based on our statuses, we shall not talk about this anymore. The elders know what they are doing.”

“Yeah.” Yue Lingyin nodded. “The elders sure do have their plans.”

“The barbarians have been here for two days and nothing has changed. I’m afraid it has already been set.”

“No way! The elders are willing to tolerate them?”

“Why not?” Kou Wei laughed. “Even though we swore that we would never interact with the barbarians again, how many have actually fought them? It’s been a hundred years since the war, and only the older generation witnessed this. To us, they’re just two races that are separated by a mountain and don’t interact with each other. What’s there to hate?”

“But….”

“But she’s ambitious!” Yue Lingyin said something significant.

That made everyone silent.

She was none other than this generation’s ruler of Zhongzhou. The ruler of this generation was the most special one in history. While the king of Zhongzhou was focused on learning martial arts, the queen held the authority.

Zhongzhou was different from the other four countries. Dongyue Xizhou’s royal family was vulnerable. They depended on the martial sects for survival, and they could only bow down to others. Nanze Beiming did not even have a royal family. Only the royal family of Zhongzhou had the ability and name to lead. Even one of the top sects was under their rule. The martial sects had no choice but to pay their respects.

Otherwise, why would the selection of a wife for the Alioth Star-Lord bring so many girls here? It was not because he was handsome or whatnot. It was all because of the fact that the queen had his back. The marriage was equivalent to becoming the queen’s ally.

“She wants to have the barbarians in her territory as well?” Somebody cut off the silence.

“Why not?” Kou Wei clicked. “This is the best type of business now, am I right?”

However, somebody snickered, “I’m afraid that going out to shear for wool will lead the wolf into the house!”

The rest were sent into deep thought. They admired her plans which were big and ambitious, and no other person would be able to conjure up such things. But wasn’t she indulging in her own fantasy? Most of the people, including the guy who had spoken just now, felt that way.

The barbarians were “untamed”. Why would they let mankind control them?

Noises could be heard from the entrance, and that signified that someone was coming to Divine Restaurant.

“What’s happening? Didn’t Brother Kou book the whole restaurant? Why are the outsiders entering?”

Yue Lingyin shook her hand. “It should be someone we know.”

As soon as she finished the sentence, the person entered the room.

It was a youngster around their age who was wearing the same bright shirt as Kou Wei. “Senior Brother Kou, senior sisters, and senior brothers.” He bowed.

“Finally!” Yue Lingyin exclaimed. “Rejected Brother Kou’s invitation, huh? Are the girls in Tianyun City pretty?”

“Pretty!” He said, dimples showing in his cheeks. “I saw a gorgeous girl today.”

Yue Lingyin broke into laughter. She wanted to tease him, and she didn’t expect this answer. “Aiyo Gentlemen Qi~ Which girl caught your eye huh? Tell us about it! ”

Shao Zhengyang believed that this guy was Qi Sheng.

“Today, Junior went into a pharmacy wanting to ‘smash’ their signboard. Who would have known that I would be scared by the pharmacologist? But the girl, what she did in front of all of us…”
