Bank of the Universe

In an unnamed mountain range, at the same old temple, there were gigantic trees and vines all around that shot up into the sky and reached toward the moons. Darkness covered the area and made it seem dull and cold.

Sizzle!

A bonfire was burning in the old temple and the dry twigs and bamboo would occassionally explode.

The bonfire lit up the darkness. There was no light around and if one hadn’t lit up anything, it would have seemed really terrifying.

But even the bonfire only lit up a small region and the other areas weren’t lit up at all.

Zhong Zi Qi wasn’t afraid. He was a cultivator, a strong one at Legend Realm. He was about to reach Grandmaster Realm and he had a bunch of Celestial Artifacts protecting him, so he wasn’t afraid of those evil spirits.

The bonfire burned. He closed his eyes and used his cultivation technique to improve himself.

His leg had healed and this was just some simple cultivation.

But as time went on, Zhong Zi Qi knew that he wouldn’t be able to take revenge by himself.

He had visited all the secret ruins in the Nine Skies but he didn’t find anything related to the furnace.

“Am I really not going to take revenge?” Zhong Zi Qi was stunned.

But no one could reply to him.

He was not that top talent. He reached peak Legend Realm 3,000 years ago and was nine stages of Grandmaster Realm away from Emperor Realm, much less Celestial Realm.

He would be able to get to Celestial Realm relying solely on himself.

Zhong Zi Qi looked at the bonfire in despair. He thought about all the Celestial Artifacts he collected, but in the end, there were only a few that he could use.

“If I can use the Celestial Artifacts in exchange for a chance for revenge, I will do so without hesitation.” Zhong Zi Qi had an idea.

“Right, trade the Bank of the Universe!” Zhong Zi Qi’s eyes lit up. He could find the Bank of the Universe and use all his Celestial Artifacts to allow the Bank of the Universe to take revenge for his wife, children, parents, and homeland.

“But I don’t have the watch.” Zhong Zi Qi was immediately disappointed.

Without it, he wouldn’t be able to enter the Bank of the Universe.

At that moment, a red light shone in the darkness.

His body shook and he looked on in disbelief. Another red watch appeared.

The watch gave out a crisp sound that resounded in his ears that made him immersed.

He saw hope in despair. He reached out his trembling hand and picked up the red watch.

“The heavens are helping me. The heavens are really helping me.” Zhong Zi Qi said emotionally.

At that moment, a person appeared at the door. There was no light outside and one couldn’t see his face. But one could see the thin body.

Zhong Zi Qi frowned. He stared at the person. He had never seen him before.

But looking at the aura, he seemed really aggressive; just one look and one knew that he wasn’t kind.

Zhong Zi Qi focused on him. He put away the red watch. He definitely couldn’t lose it.

“Who are you?” Zhong Zi Qi frowned and asked. He sized him up and realized that his skin was cold. The limbs were stiff and more importantly, there was no True Qi flowing within.

He was like a corpse!

But how could a corpse move?

The person didn’t answer Zhong Zi Qi’s question. He just stepped into the temple with a rigid step.

As he flew for too long, it was understandable that the body turned stiff.

The bonfire burned. After the corpse entered the temple, Zhong Zi Qi saw the body.

It was spotted, the skin was white, and the eyes were grey and emotionless.

All the signs showed that this was a corpse.

Zhong Zi Qi frowned. He raised his True Qi and prepared to strike, but in the next second, the corpse actually opened its mouth.

“All meetings in this world are just people reuniting. Mr. Zhong, long time no see.”

His voice was gentle like an old friend saying hi. Zhong Zi Qi didn’t notice at first but when he heard that voice, he shuddered and was utterly terrified.
