Records Of Barton’s Fantastical Events

Chapter 61 - Hermann

In the north of Becky Street, which is the end of the comb in the former Becky District. Continuing walking to the north from the location of the railway station, the style of the business district gradually faded into a cold industrial style. In fact, it is not an industry, but a warehouse. Most of the goods flowing through Massa port are dispatched from here.

There are often trucks in and out of this area, so that Benjamin’s old truck is not very conspicuous among a large number of trucks.

What was conspicuous was the black limousine car and the three Barton police cars. This is a place for warehouses on the east side of the port of Massa. On the warehouse door surrounded by yellow and white cordons, there was white paint with ’13’ written on it.

A large number of broken cardboard boxes were stacked here, there were many damaged equipment, and the metal shelves were covered with dark red rust. The smell of burnt and damp musty smell in the air, combined with the coldness, making this a place where no one wants to stay.

William Hermann, who was nearly seventy years old, pushed away the assistant who tried to help him, staring at the mass of things curled up in the black corner.

“What are you doing!” Hermann suddenly rushed forward and grabbed a young police officer who was holding a black body bag. His eyes were bloodshot: “What the hell are you doing! !”

James’ eyes were also bloodshot, but he still stepped forward and stopped the excited old Hermann: “We need to take it back for an examination to confirm his identity.”

Why is James Rance here? Because there was a charred body there, and James was a detective in the homicide division.

Hermann let go of the nervous police officer, and stepped back dejectedly.

“Let’s not hinder the work of the police.” Zach held the old man’s body: “Let’s go to other places to talk.”

In the soft sound of something that was being wrapped in the plastic bag, Hermann couldn’t bear to watch a group of strangers put his son in a plastic bag like a thing. The old man pressed his hands on his cheeks, and there were quite sobs.

Zach held Mr. Hermann’s arms and helped him out of the warehouse.

As he left, Zach turned his head and gestured to James expressionlessly.

“Do you also think this is Connor Hermann?” Detective Coulson patted his partner who was obviously out of form today, and pulled James back from looking at the two leaving. But he wasn’t looking at Hermann, but the vampire who gestured to him coldly.

It was Zach who called the police to find the body (of course, anonymously), it was also Zach who notified Mr. Hermann, and it was Zach who recommended Detective Rance to Mr. Hermann. The one who found this place, naturally, was also our vampire Zach.

The memory that Ryan had had before he died was of no use to the vampire, at least, he always thought it was a basement! In the end, it was the banshee Alice, who found this warehouse after repeatedly ‘watching’ Connor’s death.

According to the information currently held by the police, this was Connor, and it has been confirmed. The first was the testimony of the students at the party, especially that Lola saw Connor was grabbed by a man in Inan dress in [Ivy Club]. Originally, the clue was broken here.

But the warehouse manager who just came in for the call confirmed that there was a man who fit Lola’s description and rented the warehouse. Because this warehouse was used to accumulate damaged goods, no one usually paid much attention to it. The manager just took the money and didn’t ask the other party’s purpose in renting it.

Of course, Zach did not let Mr. Hermann get in his van, but got into Hermann’s limo. The man who was still in anger and pain did not say where he wanted to go, so the car drove out of the warehouse’s place and drove into Becky Street without any destination.

“Mr. Hermann, maybe now is not a good time. But I want to ask…” looking at old Hermann who was holding the whiskey in one hand and staring out of the window in a daze: “Do you still remember…”

“Tell me.” Mr. Hermann turned his head to Zach, “Tell me how you found Connor!”

Hermann’s eyes were not friendly!

This morning, Hermann was still joking with his wife who was twenty years younger than him: victory, party, 18-year-old celebrity, female admirers of the same age… These things will make young Connor engage in some ‘activity’. But until noon, when Connor still had not returned, Hermann began to worry.

After all of Connor’s friends said they didn’t know where Connor was going, Hermann called the police. The disappearance of the son of the entrepreneur who raised the entire Barton industrial development was not something that could be neglected. Therefore, the police moved quickly, and all those who had an interaction with Connor at the party were called in for questioning. And Lola, who had been looking for him, also entered the list and provided the biggest clue.

Because of Lola, Hermann and Mrs. Barton had a brief exchange. Mrs. Barton still had some doubts about the matters handled by the Grande Funeral Home. Zach refused to share the process of handling Kyle, so Mrs. Barton was not sure that Connor’s disappearance had nothing to do with Kyle. So thinking of letting the Grande Funeral Home bring this thing to an end, Mrs. Barton recommended them to Hermann.

Hermann originally just wanted to give a try. Although he made a phone call, he didn’t have much hope for it. However, he didn’t expect to see his son’s body in only two hours!

So, it was understandable that his tone at this time was not friendly!

Our vampire was not used to being interrupted, but powerful men and women are not the same. They are more direct and threatening, unlike Mrs. Quinn and Mrs. Barton who like to be implicit.

Zach’s lips curled up. It seemed that he needed to change his way to speak to this old man.

“Mr. Hermann, didn’t Mrs. Barton tell Mr. Hermann our rules for handling business? Our customers will give out their requests, and we will give them results. Apart from that, we will not answer any questions.”

Mr. Hermann stared at Zach, his knuckles turning white while holding the wine glass. Compared to people his age, Hermann was much younger, and Connor’s existence could clearly prove that… Also, for example, his heart still allowed him to gulp down the whiskey.

Zach kept smiling, letting the man keep staring at him, waiting for him to succumb to his rules.

“Okay!” Mr. Hermann closed his bloodshot eyes, and pushed the smiling person out of his field of vision: “only the results!” He leaned against the soft backrest and raised his head weakly: “You can go now. You will receive my check tomorrow.”

Perhaps he had figured it out. Knowing it now is no different from waiting for the police investigation results a few days later. Today he got enough information, and he had to go home to tell his wife who was still worried at home.

Hermann’s limousine stopped by the road.

Zach nodded slightly, but his purpose had not been achieved yet, and he was not ready to leave just like this: “Mr. Hermann, please let the car continue to drive. I haven’t finished yet.”

“What else do you want to say!” Hermann suddenly opened his eyes and roared at Zach angrily! In his opinion, if there was no such person, Connor would be just missing now instead of being a charred corpse.

“When Mr. Hermann called me, I asked if Mr. Hermann was looking for Connor? Or did Mr. Hermann want to punish the person?” Zach kept smiling.

“What are you talking about.” Hermann’s eyes narrowed threateningly: “Do you know who did it? !”

The driver of the limo looked in the rearview mirror. After Hermann briefly signaled, the limo started again, still driving without purpose.

“Is this important?” Zach felt the movement of the car. “The sketcher of Barton Police will soon draw the appearance of the murderers. Mr. Hermann will be notified of their identities by the police when Mr. Hermann gets home. But then? APB? And then arrest? Mr. Hermann, no one does not know William Hermann’s son, no one does not know the star, the quarterback of the Beavers. Even so, Mr. Hermann’s son is still lying in the corner of the warehouse, and the murderer didn’t seem to want…”

“Enough! !” Herman’s eyes gleamed menacingly, and once again interrupted the man in front of him! He has captured the meaning of the other party! Connor’s body was left there. Obviously, the warehouse was one street away from the sea, so the body could be thrown into the sea, destroying all traces, but the murderer did not do this! This means that the murderer did not intend to conceal it. Maybe at this time, the murderer has already left the city of Barton and disappeared without a trace!

“No need to say it!” Hermann glared at the person in front of him, his shoulders were already shaking slightly, that was because of anger, “What can you do? !”

Zach put away his smile, lowered his head slightly, put one hand on his chest, and made a very ancient gesture of a moment of silence. This is a vampire expressing his pity for the misfortune of others.

When Zach raised his head again, his light green eyes looked at the old Mr. Hermann: “This is not a matter for Mr. Hermann to consider. As I said before, as long as Mr. Hermann gives the request, we will give Mr. Hermann a result. Other than that, we will not answer anything.”

“I want them dead!” Hermann glared at Zach, his slightly wrinkled cheeks were shaking in anger.

The vampire nodded.

This was what the vampire wanted. Someone had attacked the Grande Funeral Home, and the vampire was not going to let it go. Interrogation? That’s just foreplay. He wants revenge and let those hunters pay for it. But he still needs a reason, a reason that would stop an old Hank, and Benjamin from changing his mind.

‘This is a request from a client, why should I refuse it?’

If you ask me, why did the vampire suddenly become a bad guy? No, no, he has never been a guy. Every decision and behavior, they were all done under the influence of others in the Grande Funeral Home. He needs to accommodate the werewolf Benjamin’s overflowing sympathy, take care of the fragile nerves of the Banshee Alice, and abide by the oath to old Hank to guard the Grande Funeral Home.

Now, let us see, where is Benjamin? Where is Alice? Where is Old Hank? There is only one vampire who is ‘glowing’ because of a large amount of food intake before leaving home.
