I Am A Prodigy

Chapter 23

Capital and Hengdian Studios were both considered the holy land for countless aspiring actors.it enabled many people to achieve their dreams in show business.

The minivan drove steadily along, moving through the crowd into Hengdian Studios.

Along the way, there were people dispersing the crowd to open a path for the minivan.

Here, celebrities of varying fame come and go all the time. The arrival of the minivan did not garner much attention from the crowd.

“Hehe, everybody let’s welcome Princess Xiao1!”

Director Li had long been waiting in the studio. The crew members lined up, showing their respect while welcoming Xiao Feifei.

That was the status of an A-list superstar.

“What do you think? Many beautiful ladies right? Don’t get distracted now,” Miss Lin teased Ye Lingchen.

After that, she kindly pointed out who was who for Ye Lingchen, “Those to the South are girls from the Capital Film Academy while those to the north are from Jinling Film Academy. Those located East and West are also from various media colleges.”

Xiao Feifei tagged along to join in the fun. She thumped her chest saying, “If you fancy any of them, just let me know. I’ll matchmake you!”

Ye Lingchen could only shake his head in response.

Credit must be given where it was due. Hengdian Studios lived up to its name as the birthplace for beauties on the screen. Along the way, there were countless beauties lined up.

Those pretty women that were an uncommon sight in public could be found all over this place. Noble, cute, proud, pure, and an endless selection of other varieties, each with their own uniqueness.

“Brother Ye.”

Right at that moment, Director Li walked over and took out his phone. “Brother Ye you really have the potential to be a superstar. Just a simple video and it’s a hit.”

Xiao Feifei came over as well.

The content of the video was about last night’s incident with the porcelain bumper. From the time the old man was lying on the floor to the point Ye Lingchen grabbed his phone and ran. It was just a short one minute video, yet it caused a great commotion and went viral overnight.

The number of likes on TikTok had already exceeded one million. This incident had also gone to be on Weibo’s trending topics.

[Discovered porcelain bumper killer, Mr. Robber!]

[This brother is amazing. Mommy won’t have to worry about me running into porcelain bumpers again.]

[I’ll keep it short. This is a pro.]

[Mr. Robber of the underworld. Ruthless without fancy words.]

Countless comments were all praises in unison. Furthermore, a lot of people had started naming Ye Lingchen as Mr. Robber.

Recently, incidents of porcelain bumping growing out of control, to the point of being the cancer of society. The appearance of Ye Lingchen’s video led to the explosive reaction from the entire community. It directly delivered a critical blow to the world of porcelain bumping, leading to countless people showing their cheerful support.

“Hello there, the great Mr. Robber with a million fans. Can I have your autograph?” Xiao Feifei smiled at Ye Lingchen.

“Great Princess Xiao1, please don’t make fun of me any further.” Ye Lingchen smiled bitterly while shaking his head. It was fortunate that he kept his face hidden yesterday and nobody would recognize him. Otherwise, it would have been troublesome.

Xiao Feifei knew that Ye Lingchen had no interest in the topic, so she just dropped by for a quick greeting with him and headed straight to the studio for filming.

The character she was playing was the heroine of Legend of the Heroine. In the earlier parts of the series, she would be filmed wearing a white martial artist outfit, sword in hand, on her first adventure to travel the world.

She portrayed the character with a heroic spirit, a heroine with an unmatched beauty.

No wonder she made it as an A-list superstar. She could take on any role. Her acting skills were top-notch.

After observing for some time, Ye Lingchen was bored. He casually grabbed ‘An Actor Prepares’ from the table and started reading.

‘Self-studying An Actor Prepares, acting proficiency +1.’

‘Self-studying An Actor Prepares, acting proficiency +1.’

‘Self-studying An Actor Prepares, acting proficiency +1.’

Ye Lingchen was already used to the notifications popping up in his mind long ago.

“Why are we one person short?” An anxious voice drifted over from some distance.

“Are any of you doing your jobs? Why are we short on people during such an important moment!?”

“Don’t just stand there. Hurry and look for people! We still have to film!”

The set was getting slightly chaotic. Quite a few people showed up, looking left and right.

Right at that moment, one of the people there spotted Ye Lingchen and his eyes brightened up, walking over quickly.

“Why are you still here? We’re about to start filming! We’re just waiting for you!” That person pulled Ye Lingchen along without further clarification.

“I am not…”

“I let you in here to film the scene! Otherwise, I’d have long kicked someone like you out!” That person said as he threw a look at Ye Lingchen.

Ye Lingchen looked at his clothes, it was as plain as one could be.

Those on the set were all either dressed in rich, trendy attire, or they were wearing costumes. It was no wonder others mistook him as one of those extras.

Trying not to cause trouble for Xiao Feifei, Ye Lingchen could only follow along in silence.

“He’s here, he’s here!” shouted the person while dragging Ye Lingchen.

“Hurry and get him changed!” shouted another rough voice.

Ye Lingchen was pushed into a tent with two others changing clothes inside.

He wore full-body black apparel with a demon mask on his face that made him look stealthy.

“Your part is to be the demon mask assassin. After you enter the scene, you will die after receiving a few kicks. Understood?” The person instructed. “Remember, you must not fight back, nor can you hurt any actors!”

Ye Lingchen took up the clothes, then knitted his brows together immediately.

The clothes emanated a foul stench of sweat. Who knew how many people already sweat on it.

“Guys, just put it on. Extras have no rights,” someone said.

“Yeah, just close your eyes and put it on. After this there will be lunch and 200RMB,” someone added.

Ye Lingchen took a deep breath and put it on, then followed the two of them out the tent.

Right outside was a wide, open field. Dust was up in the air everywhere.

It was prepared specifically for this scene.

A large number of extras dressed similarly to Ye Lingchen gathered, waiting for the signal to rush into the scene.

In the middle of the field stood a young man, covered in an armor of gold. His face carried an arrogant and evil smile, stared at Ye Lingchen and the other extras in contempt.

“Get ready—”

Someone signaled from the side.

“ACTION!”

“Attack!”

A group of demon mask assassins cried out, rushing towards the young man standing in the middle of the field.

That young man made a pose with his hands, shouted, then rushed towards the crowd.

His body swaying left and right and occasionally leaped into the air. Although his kicks and punches were all just fancy movements, they looked impressive. Added to that were the living targets all around, in that moment of high spirits, it was a scene worth watching.

Ye Lingchen arrived beside the young man and he sent a kick over, hitting Ye Lingchen squarely on the chest, causing him to backpedal a few steps.

The kick was for real!

Ye Lingchen rubbed his chest, his face rather unsightly.

If not for his recently improved body condition, that kick would be sufficient for him to suffer in pain for the next few days.

“Hey, you over there! What are you doing? Don’t you know how to stay down after getting kicked?” Someone shouted at Ye Lingchen in annoyance.

Very quickly, the second round had started.

Those extras lying around on the floor got up one after another, getting ready for a new wave of attack.

“This time bring weapons along!”

The young man held a staff in his hands, twirled it around casually, then started swinging it towards the extras.

Bang, bang, bang!

Each hit was solid, accompanied by moans of pain.

“Hahaha, that feels great!”

Every swing from that young man was with full force. His eyes were red, clearly relishing the moment, “You’re all trash, trash!”

Ye Lingchen intentionally hid himself in the crowd, trying his best to avoid the staff. However, his actions quickly attracted the attention of the young man.

“Witness my Wandering Dragon Staff!”

The young man turned serious, leaped into the air with his staff raised high, aimed it at Ye Lingchen’s head and slammed it down with full force!

If this hit connected, a concussion would be considered lucky!

“Nice!” The director shouted, “Cameraman, take note of it. This interesting scene must be shot properly!”

However, just as the staff was about to land on Ye Lingchen, he adjusted his body slightly to the side.

The staff missed!

“F*ck!” The young man cursed, pointing at Ye Lingchen, “Are you retarded? Why did you dodge? Why did you dodge?!”

Ye Lingchen stared coldly at the young man.

“What’s with that look?” The young man walked up to Ye Lingchen, then poked him hard in the chest. “I’m talking to you here? Why did you f*cking dodge?!”

“Young Master Wu, I’m sorry.” A bald man jogged over, “These extras misbehaved. How about we change another person and redo your earlier scene?”

“Change?” Young Master Wu fixed his eyes on Ye Lingchen, “I want him!”

“Have him stand still on the spot. I will be hitting him!”

Young Master Wu tested the weight of the staff in his hand, “How did your props team do their job? You call this a staff? Go get me a heavy one!”

The bystanders went silent, giving Ye Lingchen a sympathetic look.

Very quickly, someone came over with a black staff.

“Your eyes seem prideful. What’s this? You want to hit me?” Young Master Wu stared at Ye Lingchen. “Trash will be trash. Even if I were to beat you to death, nobody would dare to collect your corpse for you!”

“Remember, if you dare to dodge again, I’ll break your legs!”

Young Master Wu gripped his staff and moved a few steps backward slowly.

Following that, he leaped into the air, twisted and swung the staff at full force directly at Ye Lingchen’s head.

Sounds of the staff rushing through the air could be heard!

Ye Lingchen stood on the spot. His eyes were calm, as though there was no need to dodge.

This scene would be extremely bloody.

Young Master Wu was exhilarated, with bloodlust showing on his smile.

However, just as the staff was within three feet of Ye Lingchen’s head, he raised his right hand and caught it with his palm easily.

“F*CK YOU!”

Young Master Wu’s smile froze. Just as he cursed, Ye Lingchen held onto the staff and pulled at it with full force.

He lifted his left leg, aimed at Young Master Wu’s abdomen, and sent a violent kick his way!

Bang!

Young Master Wu’s body was like a ball, shot out in a straight line for over 10 meters!

As he landed, his body continued rolling a few turns.

Silence!

Everyone looked at Ye Lingchen who was in the center of the field. They all reflexively swallowed a mouthful of saliva.

This… with just one kick?

How strong is that kick to send someone weighing 150 lbs that far?

A large number of people were covered in goosebumps, with a look of absolute horror in their faces. They quickly rushed over to Young Master Wu and carefully helped him up.

“Young Master Wu, are you okay?”

Young Master Wu’s eyes were bloodshot. His abdominal region was in so much pain that it caused his body to quiver uncontrollably. His eyes locked onto Ye Lingchen.

“Call for backup, I want him dead!!!”
