Chapter 882 - A Wanton College Life
After they wrote the self-reflection letter, Lü Yan and Yu Xiaoxiao had been sticking to her in the morning to distance themselves from Tang Jiayun.
When it was afternoon, Yu Xiaoxiao and Lü Yan actually congregated with Tang Jiayun again.
Shi Qing gave a thumbs-up. She also took her hat off Tang Jiayun regarding this aspect. The latter was truly a ‘talent’. “Rest assured. I know what to do regarding this matter. If you’re not alone in your dormitory when I came in, would I tell you about this directly?”
At the thought of Zhou Jun’s situation, Shi Qing pitied him very much. “Brother Zhai is really vicious. He snatched you away first. Skillful.”
“I see Brother Zhou as my elder brother.” Qiao Nan could feel a headache as she said this. It had not come to her mind that Brother Zhou would like her or have feelings for her.
Toward this matter, Qiao Nan found out about it only after some time and realization.
Hence, when she first heard that Zhou Jun was the instructor who was training Shi Qing, Qiao Nan had a great shock. After all, she could still remember the conversation between Lü Yan and Yu Xiaoxiao during the daytime.
Shi Qing gave a three-minute mourn for Qiao Nan. “Do you want to meet Zhou Jun?” At the same time, Qiao Nan could ask Zhou Jun why he came to the capital although he was a soldier from Ping Cheng’s army. It could not be so coincidental, right?
“No.” Qiao Nan declined. “It’s too awkward. I think Brother Zhou may not know how to face me at this point in time.”
Qiao Nan was not willing to meet him, so Shi Qing would not press on anymore. “Alright, I know. I won’t talk about it anymore. It is already half past seven. Perhaps those three dormitory mates of yours will be coming back soon. I’m going back to my dormitory to sleep. Quickly go to bed if you are feeling tired.”
What if the instructors were to call for a sudden gathering tomorrow morning? It would be best that Qiao Nan slept as early as possible, in case she ** again if she could not restore the strength and energy that she had lost today.
“Okay.” As soon as Shi Qing left Qiao Nan’s dormitory, Qiao Nan latched the door. Thereafter, she leaned back and slept within seconds after her head hit the pillow. She went into such a deep slumber that she did not even sense anything when the Tang Jiayun trio came back.
When the three of them returned to the dormitory, they obviously felt more exhausted than Qiao Nan. After all, they participated in some extracurricular activities.
There was a flash in Lü Yan’s eyes and she gathered her pieces of clothing at lightning speed. “I’ll go and bathe first.” She then squeezed into the toilet and quickly washed up so that she could go to bed.
When she was bathing, Lü Yan felt extremely regretful. Clearly, she had already suffered once yesterday. Why did she fall into the trap again today? She was already exhausted beyond words due to the military training during the day and she still went out with Tang Jiayun to have fun. She was in such fatigue that every piece of her muscle felt so numb; they did not seem to belong to her anymore.
Lü Yan felt so exhausted that she could barely open her eyes.
When Lü Yan finished bathing, she placed the dirty laundry in the sink. She could not even be bothered to wash them as she had depleted her energy. She then lay on her bed as soon as she could
Next, Yu Xiaoxiao and Tang Jiayun washed away the sweat from the body at their fastest speed. Like Lü Yan, they also placed their clothing in the sink. They would wash them tomorrow when they had regained their senses. All of them fell on their beds, feeling exhausted.
Unlike Qiao Nan, the three of them were obviously worn out but they could not sleep immediately due to the activities that they had after the military training. They could still feel much excitement.
Hence, when the trio lay in bed without many movements for one hour, they discovered that they were suffering from insomnia despite being so exhausted!
Fortunately, Qiao Nan saw it coming and fell asleep very soon at half past seven after Shi Qing left, when the dormitory was very quiet.
The next day, when sounds of the whistle could be heard at five o’clock early in the morning, Qiao Nan, who had slept for a full nine to ten hours, woke up feeling very energized. She then brushed her teeth and washed up with combat speed, took down the camouflage uniform that she had washed yesterday, and wore them. “That’s the sound of the whistle for us to gather. The three of you, quickly wake up.”
As Qiao Nan was wearing her clothes, she even tugged at the trio who was sleeping very soundly in bed.
“Don’t be noisy. I’m so tired.”
“I’m exhausted. Let me sleep for another half an hour.”
“Tired!”
When the three of them returned to the dormitory yesterday, it was almost ten in the evening. Coupled with insomnia due to feelings of excitement, they only fell asleep when it was about midnight.
The extreme physical training coupled with such a short sleeping time made the trio feel so bad they could not get up. They were lying on the bed and snorting when Qiao Nan tried to wake them up.
Again, Qiao Nan patted the bed frames of the three of them with might. “Quickly wake up. The instructor must be waiting for us at the field now. I’m going off first!” Qiao Nan could not possibly continue wasting her time to wake her three dormitory mates up and cause herself to be late.
After leaving behind these words, Qiao Nan ran toward the field to gather with the rest at lightning speed.
When Qiao Nan arrived, she saw that the instructor had a digital watch in his hand.
Qiao Nan was not the first one that arrived. However, she saw that there were only four people from the class who were already present. Hence, Qiao Nan’s speed was still considered acceptable. Qiao Nan stood with a prim and proper posture as she looked at the instructor with her pair of eyes.
When about ten classmates had arrived, Qiao Nan estimated the time in her heart. About fifteen minutes had passed since the instructor first blew the whistle. At this moment, the instructor pressed his digital watch once.
At the sight of the instructor’s action, the classmates who had already arrived took turns to heave sighs of relief. They were glad and relieved that they had slept early the night before and could get up from bed today.
It was uncertain how the instructor would punish those who were late.
In the end, when everyone had arrived, almost an hour had passed since the instructor first blew the whistle.
Those who were late looked apathetic and low-spirited. Some even had unkempt and untidy appearances.
The most unacceptable thing was that there was a faint smell of sweat spreading. This smell could truly drive one out of their mind. It was overwhelming!
“Those who were late, run ten rounds in the field.” The instructor’s face was strict and solemn as if he was the King of Hell. “Do it now!”
“Ah!!” The classmates who were late all took turns to let out sighs of fear and shock. “Ten… ten rounds… Is this the start of the momentum that will tire us to our death?” It might even be a problem for them to complete five rounds, let alone ten.
“Those who don’t do it properly, fifteen rounds. Those who refuse to be punished, twenty rounds. Those who were not late, we will immediately start the military training session. Those who are punished to run, after you have finished your rounds, you have to catch up with the speed of the training session. You can have lunch after you complete the training session.”
The instructor’s tone was extremely serious and strict. That firm and resolute tone made these students feel fearful although they could not accept this. “Don’t think that you can let yourself loose and live in a carefree manner. This is a school. It is a place for you to learn and pick up knowledge. Now, you are undergoing military training. You have to be organized and self-disciplined. Today, you are only given a small punishment for major wrongdoing. If you commit the same mistake again, you will be asked to run twenty rounds immediately!”
Many students thought that they had reached a major milestone in life after they had entered college and could bid farewell to the long and suffering student life, that they could now live a carefree adult-life.
Even the requirement set by their parents that did not allow their schooling children to be involved in puppy love before they graduated from high school studies had been withdrawn.
