Chapter 218 - Is She Really Dai’er?
Si Mobai’s face turned icy again the moment he heard Tu Xiupei’s voice. “I wonder where that strange dog barking is coming from?”
The redness on Tu Xiupei’s face immediately disappeared, and she paled. She was stunned for a few moments before she suddenly understood what had happened – the Wargod must have been trying to attract her attention by saying something so awful because Big Brother Jin was around.
It was an irritating tactic, but she had to admit that it was very effective – it had made her notice him.
But since he was so arrogant, she wasn’t going to give him a chance so easily. She was going to give him the cold shoulder and make sure that he knew that she was a phoenix destined to fly out of the Guiyuan Continent. He wasn’t worthy of being her partner, only her bodyguard.
Once she had sorted it all out, Tu Xiupei ignored Si Mobai and walked toward Xi Jin, calling out in a coquettish voice, “Big Brother Jin.”
“I don’t understand why you insist on calling me that.” Xi Jin’s gentle voice sounded distant, and he took one step back.
He had reminded her more than once not to call him ‘Big Brother Jin,’ but she refused to listen and remained very stubborn. He was already supposed to have left, but when he thought about Dai’er, he couldn’t resist the urge to test whether Tu Xiupei was really his Dai’er.
Tu Xiupei froze for a while. Then she remembered that, when he’d looked at her the night before, he’d called her ‘Dai’er.’ An idea popped into her head, so she shyly bowed and said, “I’ve dreamed of Big Brother Jin before, but I don’t remember the details. I suppose Big Brother Jin and I knew each other in our previous lives.”
Her goal was Xi Jin, and she wanted to let the Wargod know right from the start that he wasn’t worthy of her.
Xi Jin nearly stopped breathing, and his body stiffened after hearing what Tu Xiupei had said. There was a fiery passion in his gentle eyes as he looked straight into her eyes and whispered, “Dai’er?”
She’d seen him in her dreams and felt a connection to her previous life – could she really be his Dai’er?
Tu Xiupei saw how Xi Jin was utterly drawn to her and couldn’t help but curl her lips into a faint smile. She had made a good move this round, and it didn’t matter who he thought she was, so long as he fell for her.
Pfft!
Feng Tianlan couldn’t hold her laughter in and snorted. Tu Xiupei was really good at seizing opportunity. In this regard, she wasn’t dumb. But then there were other aspects of her personality that made her look really stupid.
Xi Jin snapped out of his daze and looked up at Feng Tianlan. What was she laughing about?
Si Mobai’s face grew colder as he saw that Feng Tianlan was looking at another man and laughing. He wanted to kill someone right now!
Tu Xiupei saw that both men were now turned to Feng Tianlan, and her heart dropped as a glint of hate flashed across her eyes. She then put on her hostess’s voice and confidently said, “Big Brother Jin, Wargod, this way, please. The dishes for tonight are all ready and waiting for you.”
“Let’s go in.” Feng Tianlan noticed that Si Mobai looked at her quite coldly, and she quickly wiped the smile off her face. She could see a murderous look in his eyes. Was he jealous to the point of wanting to kill Big Brother Jin?
He was highly skilled, but certainly no match for Big Brother Jin. But then again, she didn’t really quite know precisely how highly skilled he was.
Tu Xiupei led the way as if she were the host of the banquet. “Big Brother Jin, this way to the second floor.”
Feng Tianlan watched as Tu Xiupei led them upstairs and raised an eyebrow. If she hadn’t been the one who’d arranged this banquet, she would have thought Tu Xiupei was the one hosting.
“Miss…”
Feng Tianlan saw that Chuling was upset by this and whispered to her, “Go look for Yunzhu and ask her what’s going on.”
Chuling saw that Tu Xiupei had brought them to the host’s table and glared hard at her before running to the back kitchen to look for Luo Yunzhu.
Si Mobai also looked at what was happening very coldly. What were his subordinates doing? Not only were they not protecting Her Highness, but they were also even allowing Tu Xiupei to usurp her position as hostess!
