Chapter 1396 - You Will Be Mine Someday
Jun Xiqing was in a daze, it was as though she had just awoken from a nightmare.
There had been a voice right beside her ear, saying – Kill Lu Yeming! Kill him now!
What had she done?
She couldn’t control herself at all.
Collapsing onto the cold grass, she held her throbbing head in her hands.
At this moment, a pair of gleaming leather shoes appeared in her lowered gaze. Jun Xiqing froze and slowly lifted her eyes, catching sight of a pair of crisp trousers, a black leather belt around a slim waist. Her gaze moved upwards…
His shirt was soaked in blood.
Jun Xiqing climbed up slowly on all fours and reached out to press on his wound, helping him stop the blood.
Switching back to her smiling expression, Bei Yuewu stuck one hand on her waist, chiding him. “How dare you dream of having me after killing so many people all these years? Do you think I don’t know that you stole my son from me? I want nothing more than to stab a thousand holes into you!”
She was greeted with silence.
Yuan Ming stared at her in shock before quickly recovering, his eyes lighting even more. How else could he have loved Bei Yuewu for so many years?
Then he laughed loudly. “Yuewu, I already said 20 years ago that you would be mine someday! As long as you follow me, I will let your daughter-in-law go. How does that sound?”
Bei Yuewu raised her shapely brows and said, “You already said that this is for my daughter-in-law. Isn’t protecting her my son’s duty then? Why is that my problem? He’s trash if he’s going to sell his mother out to protect his wife.”
Yuan Ming was utterly speechless.
Lu Yeming had no words as well.
Jun Xiqing could also only look on dumbly.
Yuan Ming’s expression turned ugly. He had waited so many years for Bei Yuewu to appear and was not about to let this opportunity slip by him. No matter what, he was going to get her.
“Yuewu, then it looks like I have no choice but to take you back by force!” Yuewu lunged for her.
Seeing the situation turn on her, Bei Yuewu admitted defeat and ran. Yuan Ming took a metal chain out and threw it in the direction of Yuewu.
Just as the chain was about to wrap itself around Bei Yuewu, a large palm shot out and caught it.
…
Yuan Ming felt a strong aura push against him and took two steps forward to steady himself.
When he lifted his head to take a look, he saw the metal chain in the hands of a tall, imposing figure.
Murong Jiancheng.
The man was standing tall in a black coat, his years in power having honed the murderous look in his eyes. Compared to his younger self, this forty-year-old man was even more dignified and imposing.
Murong Jiancheng’s cold eyes landed on Yuan Ming and he said, “Yuan Ming, you still have your sights set on your sister-in-law after all these years?”
Murong Jiancheng swung the chain back at him as hard as he could.
Yuan Ming couldn’t dodge in time and the chain landed squarely on his face.
Bam! A red mark appeared on his face and he stumbled backward.
He looked pathetic.
Yuan Ming felt utterly humiliated. He had never been a match for Murong Jiancheng.
All those years ago, not only did Murong Jiancheng have zero interest in women, but he was also skilled in combat. People would worship him whenever he appeared and he was the brightest star in all their eyes.
He had once been as famous as Murong Jiancheng and they had been sworn as brothers, but he had never been as good as him.
To make matters worse, he had fallen in love with Bei Yuewu later on but she had fallen in love with Murong Jiancheng at first sight, destroying his love.
All his indignation and hatred burst out of him.
How was he supposed to accept this?
Yuan Ming lifted his head to look at Murong Jiancheng. The entire time he was standing calmly, exuding an aura of an emperor.
His aura was different from Lu Yeming who had only become an emperor halfway through his life. Murong Jiancheng had grown up in the palace and had been brought up to be the rightful successor.
At this moment, a few bullet-proof cars pulled over. Fan Men had rushed over with his men.
Yuan Ming gazed at Bei Yuewu before running off.
…
Now that the villain was gone, Bei Yuewu ran past Murong Jiancheng to Lu Yeming and said, “Son, make some noise if you’re not dead. Don’t make me worry.”
Lu Yeming, who was clearly not dead, was speechless.
Fan Men walked over and stood respectfully beside Murong Jiancheng. “Your Majesty.”
Murong Jiancheng looked at Bei Yuewu.
“Bring Yeming to the hospital immediately.”
“Yes.”
…
In the hospital.
Lu Yeming was pushed into the operating theater as the light outside turned blindingly red. Meanwhile, Jun Xiqing sat on the seats outside the hospital, her nose and eyes red from crying.
It was all her fault.
She was going to die from her guilt if anything happened to Lu Yeming. If he died, how could she bear to keep on living?
