Chapter 1498 - Black Equipment?
“Is anyone tired?” Lu Li asked.
“No!”
They had just rested an hour beforehand, and were riding the wave of adrenaline and excitement of having killed the Red Dragon.
“Then let us continue. Remnant Dream, stay towards the back so you can keep an eye on the equipment.”
Lu Li charged on without rest, leading the way for those who had just been revived. He did not even want to waste half a second. There was no real alternative. The Dragon Slayer’s Roar only had a few hours remaining. It would be good if they could defeat one more Boss.
The third Boss, Broodlord Lashlayerm, was a Drakonid and was Nefarian’s first Drakonid creation.
Nefarian was Azeroth’s scientist, biologist, and geneticist. He focused on researching new Drakonid items, and was attempting to create new forms of Drakonid armies.
Broodlord Lashlayer was one of the more successful creations. He was actually the former guardian of Blackwing’s Nest.
Before the little Red Dragon arrived, Broodlord Lashlayer had been the guardian of the entrance. He was actually a Boss that required a series of consistent, planned attacks before being capable of defeat.
However, there was no plan of attack that could protect oneself against other players for a sustained period of time. As such, when compared to the Red Dragon, Broodlord Lashlayer was just a minor character. The amount of energy that needed to be spent on him was even lower than that which was spent on smaller monsters and trap rooms.
There were three forms of small monsters. One was the Death Claw Dragon Team Leader, which appeared to be a mini-Boss, despite being in charge of two soldier-like Death Claw Dragon members, and two older, more experienced members.
If you thought that the Death Claw Dragon Team Leader was the most powerful, you would be making an incorrect assumption.
There were two possible reasons as to why such a powerful Death Claw Dragon Team Leader held the title of a mini-Boss, while the members of his were only considered small, insignificant characters. The first was because the Death Claw Dragon Team Leader was a relative of Nefarian. The second was because his little sister had married an important figure.
Lu Li’s entire team was destroyed here.
Regardless of what group it was, if they did not know how to attack, they were bound to be wiped.
Two Death Claw Dragon members knew how to use Area of Effect Fireballs, and were able to discharge them in rapid succession. An attack would often result in between 40 to 50 Fireballs flung through the sky.
Even with 50 Fireballs, each person would on average be struck by one or two…
However, to calculate in this manner was naïve. No one determined that the Boss’ 50 or so Fireballs would rain down on top of the players. If that was the case, then those with greater defensive capabilities would be able to withstand more than one or two.
In reality, those who were lucky would not even be subject to a single Fireball. However, if you were unlucky, you could be hit by four or five. Thus, in one instance, ten or so people died. Amongst the chaos, the group very quickly fell victim to the Death Claw Dragon’s second wave of Fireballs.
Lu Li was familiar with this attack strategy, and thereby managed to escape unscathed.
After returning, he used Goblin Jumper Cables to treat the wounded. After repeated Revives and heals, he eventually managed to get the entire team standing again.
“It seems that there are two small groups. If the parameters of the battle are cast too widely, then it will easily cause another wave to enter. Bearded Zaza, go and pull over the monster. We will wait in the little Red Dragon’s room. When the time comes, we will control a Death Claw Dragon. We need to first kill the others before we sort them out,” Lu Li said.
This was the most appropriate way to resolve the issue.
Although it would waste some time, it would be far less than the time that would be wasted if their entire group was to be wiped.
Killing a few small monsters would be an easy task.
Remnant Dream was sent to loot the corpses after, and found a few Synthetic Gems.
One would use Fire-related magic to increase the damage rate by 50%. A Synthetic Gem that could remain active for 30 seconds was already a fairly good item. When embedded inside weapons, it would add a special, explosive effect. With this Synthetic Gem, the explosive effect of the fire would reach a whole new level.
30 seconds was enough time to use fire magic to tip the match into their own favour.
Lu Li left Fat Monkey behind, who did not have permission to enter the Instance Dungeon. However, this did not affect his capacity to receive equipment. He was, after all, a competitor, who might even compete in the Donghua Cup. Although the other two Clubs did not lack firepower, their players were not the official users of it.
As for other Synthetic gems, they weren’t as difficult to come by. After adding Strengthening Stones, Lu Li followed the structure of the group, and their occupations, to sort them into different formations. Drizzle Court and Peerless City were all beneficiaries of this arrangement.
There were two normal Skill Books. The third was a Frost Nova Enhancement Book.
This was a Mage’s ultimate power. Lu Li had just obtained a Synthetic Gem. If he had taken this Book too, he would have been labelled unkind. The agreement between the three guilds would essentially become a dual pact. After briefly considering it, Lu Li gave the Gem to Water Fairy, so that she could be the one to stress over it.
There were four rare items. Lu Li was intent on getting his hands on some Red Dragonblood.
It wasn’t because this was especially rare and expensive. At least for Lu Li, he was unaware of its use. However, he knew that in his previous incarnation, people were willing to pay a sky-high price for it.
Red Dragonblood could only be extracted from a Red Dragon body. The higher-levelled the Dragon, the more likely that it would be extracted.
However, Red Dragons could not be killed easily. Some players still wanted to kill the Queen of Dragons, Alexstrasza, but that was a pipe-dream. Killing Alsace would be more achievable.
As for the other Red Dragons, the ones more famous than the little Red Dragon included the likes Claustraz (Krasus).
This was an even greater flight of imagination. As Queen Alexstrasza’s youngest companion, Claustraz was a rare magic-prodigy. Amongst the human camps, he presented himself as “Krasus”, and managed to elevate himself to become one of Dalaran’s six high-level Mages. Killing him was even more difficult than reaching the heavens.
The little Red Dragon was, in reality, the spouse of the Queen, and was also quite powerful. Had he not fallen to such a low level, other players would not have had the chance to kill him.
As for the drop rate of the Red Dragonblood, Lu Li had never heard of Little Red Dragon dropping this item.
Because Lu Li had voluntarily offered the Frost Nova to the others, when he asked for the Red Dragonblood – this rare material with no known purpose – both Drizzle Court and Peerless City quickly agreed. Both were impressed by Lu Li’s ‘generosity’, which made them feel that they were not strangers. Lu Li was prepared to share things with them, so they naturally had no objection.
Barely anyone wanted the four pieces of Gold equipment, or the three pieces of Dark Gold equipment. Lu Li decided to divide them according to the relative sizes of the three Clubs.
Of course, as the organiser and commander of the group, Lu Li was not shy about taking a larger percentage for himself.
Then it came to the Legendary equipment. The sight of a T2 Warrior Belt Mould was enough to make others satisfied. This was because many were Warriors who knew that they would never able to have the equipment itself, and therefore wanted to satisfy their curiosity of seeing it in person. Lu Li gave some of the Legendary equipment to Azure Sea Breeze – no one would object to this. After all, Azure Sea Breeze was largely responsible for the defeat of the little Red Dragon.
In reality, no one would object anyway. This would remain the case so long the unfairness was restricted to Azure Sea Breeze.
Then, there was another Legendary item.
This item made Lu Li complain uncontrollably.
The items today seemed strange. First, there was a Mage Synthetic Gem, and now there was something even better, but it was for Defensive Paladins. Unless, they wanted him to give it to Wandering?!
Then, he would really be armored up with black-colored equipment!
However, he considered the topic of discussion tonight – the black-armored, black-handed team leader who led the charge to kill the little Red Dragon!
