The Great Thief

Chapter 1515 - Felstone

During the time of the Highlord Alexandros Mograine, High General Abbendis, Grand Inquisitor Isillien and Highlord Mograine established the Crusade. At that time, the Scarlet Crusade was quite a prestigious group.

Of course, this all changed when Mograine died.

Recklessness, stupidity and extremism were now part of the Scarlet Crusade’s label.

However, the group still wielded significant power.

It could be said that in the Battle of the Plaguelands, the Scarlet Crusade was a force to be reckoned with.

Their numbers were comparable to Lordaeron’s population. However, after the battle, the people of the Crusade were all affected by the fear of being made redundant and abandoned. To counter this fear, the Scarlet Crusade used an evil oath, which was bound to fail.

This attracted a large number of warriors to join their ranks, but after the fighting was done, they were only capable of making a living off their swords.

These people needed a powerful group to be able to show their strength. Furthermore, the works of the Scarlet Crusade also needed powerful warriors.

The Scarlet Crusade’s biggest problem in their recruitment was identifying whether or not an individual was one of the Undead. This was because the Inquisitor was nearly killed by his own people. This group of people were unbelievably crazy about the Undead.

If they were Undead…

Then they must all die!

This also included the Forgotten Ones that were stationed near the Undead barrier.

Lu Li looked into Bourne’s eyes and seemingly understood something. Bourne was not an ordinary farmer. He was aware of the Scarlet Crusade’s situation, but he had already made a decision.

Kill them all – the Undead, the people who should have been buried into the ground a long time ago.

“There’s some people. They are already dead, but they are still fighting for the living. How respectable,” Lu Li could not help but say as he looked at the back of Bourne.

Bourne did not turn around and left.

The quest scroll indicated that the quest had been completed, and a new one had already begun.

If the previous quests were all practice-grade quests, the aim of them would be to examine whether or not Lu Li had the potential to be a scout. Now, Lu Li was beginning to receive military quests.

“Scout the area of the Felstone Fields for the Alliance and clear out any obstacles on the roads”

Felstone Fields reminded Lu Li of a quest that involved the Felstone family. The reward of that quest was a Shadow Resistance Scroll, which would be quite useful in the fight against Nefarian.

The Felstone Fields were quite close to the Undead barrier. This place was an Outpost for the Horde. For the sake of avoiding trouble, Lu Li and the others decided to ignore the shortcut. Who knew if they would run into Horde characters and be seen as enemies?

This time, the Horde and the Alliance were working together to defend against the Scourge’s expansion. Although they were working together, it was because desperate times had called for desperate measures. The bad blood between the two groups had not been forgotten at all. On the other hand, the bad blood would become more intense and emphasised because of the pressure from the Scourge. No matter the Alliance or the Horde, both sides had impulsive warriors.

They group quickly arrived at the Felstone Fields.

The Felstone family had lived here for a long time. This used to be a place where the people would gather to celebrate with feasts and parties. It was also a place where the farmers’ children would receive training, but now, it was crawling with the Undead. Crumbs from a dinner party littered the grown, showing evidence of a previous celebration. It seemed like they had been harvesting at that time, but unexpectedly, the Undead arrived at their doorstep.

On the east side of the Felstone Fields, there were two small houses. Lu Li and the others found Janice Felstone, one of the female owners of the place, but she was now a spirit. She wasn’t an Undead; her corpse was lying on the bed and had already decomposed into a pile of bones.

The spirit sat quietly in front of the dressing table, staring intently at the mirror on top of it.

However, there was no reflection in the mirror as the spirit didn’t have a physical body.

When Lu Li and the others arrived, Janice Felstone reacted calmly. She didn’t have anything more to lose. She had already lost her life, her family and her land.

“We are adventurers. Is there anything we can do to help?” Water Fairy asked. Lu Li’s Charm stats were too low, so they feared that he might not activate the quest.

“I still remember that fateful night when our happiness was shattered into millions of pieces. Fresh blood filled the night air. Killing. Screaming. Swords clashing with other swords. My husband, John, planned to rush out and bring back a horse so that we could leave together…” Janice Felstone began to explain.

“Did he run away by himself?” Cain’s Left Hand couldn’t help but ask.

He was habitually a pessimist. In Ruling Sword, he was a figure known for being pessimistic.

It was possible, since couples could split up when they were met with great difficulty. During the Scourge’s invasion, it would be normal if John ran away alone and abandoned his wife.

“Impossible,” Janice Felstone denied as she shook her head.

“Then what can we do for you?” Lu Li wanted to move on. He didn’t feel the need to debate with a spirit.

“Help me send out a package. It is downstairs, on a table,” Lady Felstone requested. “I remember that I need to do this. I must do this for the Felstone family to have hope once again.”

“Where to?” Lu Li asked.

Janice Felstone could not remember anything.

Lu Li couldn’t do anything and brought them to leave the second floor. As expected, they saw a package on the table. Perhaps they hadn’t seen it before going upstairs. It was quite creepy, but since this was a game, everything was explainable.

Lu Li took the package and saw that there was a note underneath it.

While the note had a place written on it, unfortunately, it wasn’t a detailed address. However, they at least knew that this package needed to go to Stormwind City and be delivered to Emma Felstone.

“I’ll go and turn in this quest first. You guys wait here for me, or you can go and clear some of the Undead around here,” Lu Li said. This quest was given to everybody, so anyone could complete it and it would count as the whole party’s. The rewards given would also be individual rewards.

Naturally, no one objected.

Lu Li transformed into a crow, then flew straight into the green clouds of the Plaguelands’ sky.

Soon after, he quickly arrived at a popular tavern in Stormwind City.

After paying for his glass of beer, Lu Li received the information that he needed.

If only the name was known and they were looking for a person, then they needed to look for Royal Factor Bathrilor at the census area in Stormwind City. Bathrilor had a talent, which had been developed through his years of service in the census.
