Chapter 115 - Bronze Ability & A New Little Monster
After Wang Dong loaded all the job listings into the app, Su Yang sent the download link to the part-timers’ chat group. He told everyone to register with their real names and they would be able to select and complete jobs on the app on their own after that.
Although it started as a part-time job among students, with the official introduction of the app, it raised a lot of interest among the chat group. Astonished, everyone started to install the app out of curiosity and started testing it out.
Su Yang told Deeny to monitor the statistics from the back-end and collect the user feedback.
The next morning, after he woke up, he turned to the [Lucky Disfiguring Brick] that he had taken out the last night.
Ever since he smashed his face the first time, the brick stopped glowing, and now with the cooldown reset, a new layer of luminosity covered it. That meant that Su Yang could ‘torture’ himself once again.
He summoned the system for a quick look. The Bronze Mission that required him to last more than two minutes in the spar with Pan Zhaodi was marked with a “completed” tag.
He earned himself a Bronze Point and the lucky brick was usable again.
Su Yang always thought the plain and simple point-adding effect was lame.
‘Can’t the system show something grand or outstanding instead of just a glimmer?’
Right after the thought popped in his mind, his palm suddenly felt painful as if he had been cut by something sharp. He let go of his hand by reflex and the fruit knife fell onto the floor.
When the fruit knife fell on the floor, Su Yang heard a meek ‘ouch!’ in his ears.
He peered down and realized that the fruit knife had plunged into the floor, so only the handle was left sticking out.
The handle had transformed from plastic to a silver metallic material. It looked shiny and grand, but something on the handle did not match the image. There was a small flower carved on it. It seemed like a hunk with a Hello Kitty tattooed on his arm.
Su Yang grabbed the handle and pulled the knife out. The blade had not changed at all.
He shook his head and asked, “Can you speak?”
The meek voice sounded in his ears again, “Yes, I’m speaking. Who are you?”
“I’m Su Yang. Are you the knife in my hand?”
The voice of a girl answered, “I’m in your hand! I can’t see anything! All I know is that something has caught me.”
‘It can’t see me?’ Su Yang sized up the little knife carefully and looked around his room.
‘The room is well-lit, so why can’t it see me? Is something wrong with this little monster’s eyes?’ He could not help but wonder.
