Chapter 123 - Won The Lottery
Soon, 21:15 arrived. Su Yang took his ticket out and sat in front of the TV. All six little monsters were there to witness the grand event as well.
As the big sister of the house, Deeny sat on the other side of the couch as obliged and leaned toward Su Yang. Little Hus was beside his feet. Pool also got himself a stool and sat beside Su Yang.
Gru planted Sanque in the pot and it had the best seat in the house with Gru beside it. Since Gru could shrink and grow at will, he would never block the view of others.
As the youngest in the family, Little Lady Knife was beside Gru. Her blade was moving around, listening to whatever she could since she could not see.
Su Yang looked at his ticket. The combination he bought was 1.5.7.13.19.31. The number on the blue ball was 3.
The two-colored ball lottery has a total of 33 numbers, six random red balls would be drawn together with a blue ball. If all the numbers matched, he would win the first prize which was at least five million.
The two-colored balls were spinning in the lottery machine on the TV.
The host talked ceaselessly and tirelessly. Su Yang really wanted to fast forward it, but it was a live telecast. After the host finished, they finally moved on to the drawing session.
Su Yang glared at him. “Since when did you say that?”
Little Hus said nonchalantly, “I said it in my heart.”
Despite already being mad after missing the top prize, Little Hus had to sprinkle salt over his wounds. Su Yang pointed at Little Hus and said to Little Lady Knife, “Lady Knife, poke him!”
Little Lady Knife turned to Su Yang. “Brother Su Yang, I don’t think it’s that good to…”
“It’s fine. You can’t hurt him anyway. Just make him feel the pain.”
The little knife nodded adorably. “Right!”
She jumped off the table and swung a blade furiously at Little Hus. She even screamed, “Ada, ada, ada, ada!” with her meek voice as she launched a barrage of jabs at Little Hus. It was cute and cool at the same time.
However, the cute little knife did not land a single blow on Little Hus.
Little Hus looked at her nonchalantly as he continued digging his nose. “I knew this would happen.”
It was then that Gru stepped in while swinging its twigs. It ‘Gru-ed’ at Little Hus.
Little Hus looked askance at the moving twig and said with a smirk, “How many times do I need to tell you that no one understands you? Besides, even if you slam me on the ground, I won’t feel pain.”
“A mute and a blind, come catch me if you can,” Little Hus mocked.
The moment his voice subsided, Gru ‘Gru-ed’ angrily and extended its twigs. It grabbed Little Lady Knife’s handle and thrust it towards Little Hus.
Gru precisely stabbed the little knife into the husky’s butt and Little Hus jumped up like a loaded spring. He covered his butt and hopped away, but Gru did not want to spare him.
Together with Little Lady Knife, they chased Little Hus all around the house and the husky bolster’s painful squeals could be heard from time to time.
Su Yang finally grinned when Little Hus got what he deserved. He let the little monsters fool around since Little Lady Knife could not hurt Little Hus. Besides, Little Hus could really use punishment.
Then, Su Yang picked up the lottery ticket and put it into his book. Regardless of the prize, it was his first time winning a lottery with his first purchase.
Since his dream of winning the top prize was destroyed, he decided to call it a day. He went back to his room to wash up and read some books about internet marketing and management before bed.
However, right after he came out from the bathroom, Deeny notified him of a message, “Master, you have a message from WeChat.”
‘A message from WeChat?’
Su Yang pulled up his phone panel and noticed that it was Lin Jiali. The lady had not chatted with him for a while ever since he had pretended to be her fan on campus and asked for her autograph.
Ever since she disappeared that day, Su Yang’s Bronze Mission had been on hold.
Su Yang opened WeChat and saw a message from Lin Jiali.
[Are you asleep?]
The message was followed by a sticker of a cat peeking out from the corner.
Su Yang crawled onto his bed and replied: [Zzz.]
Lin Jiali replied almost instantly with a sticker of a frightened cat whose eyes were as big as its face. Her message followed right after the sticker. [How can you reply to my message if you are asleep?]
After that, another sticker that showed four hamsters slamming the table with the phrase ‘asking for trouble’ above their heads followed.
‘This crazy woman…’
Su Yang replied: [What’s up?]
[Are you free? I have something to talk to you about.]
