Mr Fu, I Really Love You

Chapter 823 - By Right, You Should Be Pledging Your Allegiance to Me Now

Could it be that Lin Ran had gotten together with Gu Shaoting as she had hoped? Was she… afraid that Lin Nuan would feel awkward when she saw Gu Shaoting?

Actually, although Lin Nuan used to have a marriage agreement with Gu Shaoting, the number of times they had met in the past could be counted on one hand. They had basically never spent any time alone together…

Most of the time, both families’ parents were around, and everyone was sitting and eating together!

Lin Nuan had a stuffy personality, and Gu Shaoting was a man of few words too…

They did eat alone together under their families’ arrangement, but basically, the two of them were really just eating. There was nearly zero interaction, with Gu Shaoting only asking Lin Nuan for her preferences and foods that she didn’t eat when they ordered.

They were fiancé and fiancée in name, but when they sat down together, they went about eating by themselves. They had a tacit understanding not to disturb each other.

Lin Nuan remembered that Lin Ran once went to the Gu house to make a din, to confess to Gu Shaoting. Lin Nuan had always thought that Lin Ran was merely trying to snatch back everything that belonged to her to begin with. Could it be that she had really fallen for Gu Shaoting?

“This time, at Dad’s birthday, you just said that Mom says you guys are eating as a family. I’m barely considered a member of the Lin family, but what about Gu Shaoting?” Lin Nuan smiled and purposely pressed on. “Have you gotten together with Gu Shaoting?”

“No…” Lin Ran answered quickly. “It’s Mom who said he’s coming over. I don’t know what’s going on! If you’re curious, you can ask him yourself…”

Was Lin Ran telling her that Gu Shaoting was also going because she was afraid that Lin Nuan would feel awkward, or was she afraid that Fu Huai’an would mind and thus revealing it in advance?

Lin Nuan couldn’t resist smiling. She didn’t know much about Gu Shaoting, but she knew he wasn’t a playboy. He was just a little aloof!

Liang Mulan likely had the intention of pairing Lin Ran up with Gu Shaoting by asking him to go to the dinner. If Lin Ran was truly fond of Gu Shaoting, the two would be rather compatible if they were to end up together.

“Are you afraid I’ll be awkward?” Lin Nuan asked Lin Ran.

“I’m just telling you about it in case your husband minds that you two used to have a marriage agreement! Whether you feel awkward or not, that’s your problem. If you’re frank and aboveboard, why would you feel awkward?” Because Lin Nuan’s words were spot on, Lin Ran’s embarrassment turned to anger. She feigned magnanimity in her voice as she said, “If you have the time to let your thoughts run wild, why not use it to think about what to get Dad for his birthday! Hanging up…”

Lin Nuan heard a beep on her phone. She lowered her gaze, smiling slightly as she locked her phone screen.

Lin Ran’s attitude had a visible change after she accepted Ji Yun…

For instance, in the past, when she mentioned Lin Jingquan and Liang Mulan in front of Lin Nuan, she would possessively address them as “my mom” and “my dad.” However, now, Lin Ran addressed Lin Jingquan and Liang Mulan differently in front of her.

The incident in which Lin Nuan got injured protecting Fang Yan had blown up on the internet, and because of it, there were favorable comments about Lin Nuan.

The staff of Jinjiang TV Station’s “Talking with Lin Nuan” knew that Lin Nuan was injured, so they took good care of her when she was recording the show.

The guest for today’s show was the female actress Peng Yanzhi, who had risen to popularity because of a Qing Palace drama last year.

Lin Nuan had looked at Peng Yanzhi’s information and crammed her TV drama “Vying for the Throne.” Although Peng Yanzhi was a newbie, her acting was indeed pretty good. It was no wonder then that she managed to capture so many fans after the drama was broadcasted.

When Mu Taotao was helping Lin Nuan do her makeup, she said that she saw Peng Yanzhi and Zhang Ruomin, winner of the Best Actress Award, sitting in a car together at Jinjiang TV Station for a show recording. The nosy her even took a video of them!

Lin Nuan appeared helpless. Where did Mu Taotao pick up this habit of taking videos at whim?

“Sister Nuan, I tell you, if I play this video, it would certainly fetch a high price. You didn’t see Zhang Ruomin and Peng Yanzhi’s mannerisms. If I didn’t know better, I’d have thought that Best Actress Zhang and Peng Yanzhi were lesbians!”

Mu Taotao kept her ears peeled and found out that Zhang Ruomin had been invited to appear on a variety show at Jinjiang TV Station. The show was taking place in the Jinjiang TV Station building today, and the assistant director of the variety show had just come over and said hello to the director of “Talking with Lin Nuan,” saying that the theme of their show was treasure hunting, hence their guest might come over later. He asked for cooperation from the crew of “Talking with Lin Nuan” and said they could choose to use the scene or edit it out after.

A newly popular TV starlet was acquainted with a megastar like the winner of the Best Actress Award. Then there was the fact that the two of them didn’t belong to the same agency yet behaved intimately like a couple. Mu Taotao’s nosy heart was tempted. She planned on seeking more information after she was done with Lin Nuan’s makeup.

 Lin Nuan was rendered speechless.

Lin Nuan had never paid much attention to such gossip, but she was totally familiar with the name Zhang Ruomin.

That was especially so since Zhang Ruomin had proposed to Fu Huai’an at an award ceremony. Lin Nuan still sort of minded that…

Lin Nuan’s phone vibrated. Mu Taotao, who was fixing her hair, held a hair straightener in one hand and picked up Lin Nuan’s phone to hand it to her.

Lowering her head and seeing that it was a message from Fu Huai’an, she tapped on it.

‘Fu Huai’an: What time will you be done with the show? I’ll pick you up so that we can eat together.’

Lin Nuan’s fingers grazed the edges of her phone, a smile ghosting the corners of her lips. She knew that Fu Huai’an was in Jinjiang today. She tapped her warm fingers against her phone.

‘Lin Nuan: Zhang Ruomin, the winner of the Best Actress Award, is at Jinjiang TV Station to record a show today too. Aren’t you afraid of running into her?’

Lin Nuan had just locked her phone screen when the phone vibrated. She lowered her head and swiped her phone.

 ‘Fu Huai’an: Jealous?’

Lin Nuan couldn’t resist laughing softly. She replied with a shaking head expression.

‘Lin Nuan: Asking when you obviously know! By right, you should be pledging your allegiance to me now.’

 Fu Huai’an responded incredibly quickly…

‘Fu Huai’an: I’ll go to the set and pledge my allegiance in person.’

Lin Nuan smiled even more vibrantly. What little unhappiness she felt dissipated into thin air, and there was a sweetness in her heart.

“Sister Nuan, are you texting Mr. Fu? Looking at your expression, I can tell that the sugar content is very high!” Mu Taotao joked with Lin Nuan.

Lin Nuan didn’t deny it. Seeing Mu Taotao set down the hair straightener, she glanced at her wristwatch, shook the information papers resting on her lap, and got to her feet. “I’ll go to the recording set and look for the guest to go through the questions with her…”

Mu Taotao placed the styling tools into the makeup box, then turned around and said to Lin Nuan, “Okay, Sister Nuan, you can go with Sister Nainai first. I’ll go find out more information on this gossip before going over to watch your show recording!”

Lin Nuan had already reached the set. After waiting for ten minutes, she still didn’t see the guest appear. It was only five minutes from the start of the recording. If they still didn’t go through the questions now, they might not make it in time.

She was about to ask Miss Xia if the questions had been communicated with the guest’s manager when the director frowned and got someone to ask Peng Yanzhi to hurry over to go through the questions with Lin Nuan.

Lin Nuan sat in the show host’s position with a notebook laid open on her knees. She was holding a pen and writing something on the information papers in her delicate handwriting.

Peng Yanzhi arrived late in high-heel shoes and a light pink gown that was a little loose. She apologized to the director, then smiled sweetly as she sat down opposite Lin Nuan.
