Chapter 1020 - The Unfit Theory
1020 The Unfit Theory
Qiao Nan was in so much pain that she was in tears. She lowered her head and stepped on Ding Jiayi with all her might.
Once Ding Jiayi felt the pain, she loosened her grip on Qiao Nan’s hand. Qiao Nan immediately moved away. “I didn’t beg you to give birth to me! Are you sure you gave birth to me and not picked me up from the streets? You regretted having a daughter like me but I have never wanted to admit that I have a mom like you. You think of me and want my help only when something happens. When your life is good, you can’t wait to kick me away. To me, you giving birth to me is a great mistake!”
Qiao Nan had never hated herself for being Ding Jiayi’s biological daughter as much as today.
Even when she was knocked down by a car in her previous life after Ding Jiayi pushed her to the road, she only felt bitterly disappointed then. She was thinking that she had repaid her life to her mother. As such, she could be freed thereafter.
Although she and Ding Jiayi were mother and daughter, they did not have any kinship feelings for each other. So be it. She did not care anymore.
However, besides giving birth to her, Ding Jiayi refused to give her anything. On the contrary, she was so greedy that she wanted to control her life over two lifetimes. She wanted to take everything from her and simply exploit her until she was reduced to nothing. She would then disdainfully and hatefully look at her and dump her away as if she was thrash. On what grounds could Ding Jiayi do that?!
“I am a wretched girl. Yes, I don’t gain your favor. I am the greatest mistake in your life. Please don’t look for or talk to me then. Don’t you have a capable, promising, pretty, and smart elder daughter? You can look for her if something happens. You just have to hug and protect your favorite daughter. Won’t that do?”
She was not envious of Qiao Zijin for receiving all of Ding Jiayi’s motherly love at all. Regardless of how close they were and how much Ding Jiayi doted on Qiao Zijin, her brows would not arch a little.
However, why? After much difficulty, she was finally having a peaceful and tranquil life. Why did Ding Jiayi always have to appear and destroy it? Why did she have to bring her endless suffering and humiliation?
The corners of Ding Jiayi’s eyes were red and she was smiling grimly. “Yes, I like your sister. I dote on your sister. Wretched girl, are you fit to talk about or compare yourself with your sister? You are not as good-looking as her. You are not as smart or as blessed as your sister. A person like you doesn’t have any good fortune at all. Yet, you have the shame to continue with your studies? Listen to me carefully. You are not fit to attend college. You are not fit to have a man. You are not fit to receive happiness. All these belong to your sister!!”
Only her favorite daughter could have all these.
Qiao Nan could not be compared to Zijin in any way. She did not resemble Ding Jiayi in terms of looks and character. In addition, others treated her a hundred—no, a thousand times better than they would Ding Jiayi when the latter was young. How could she possibly like such a daughter?
She watched helplessly as the happy life that Qiao Zijin had once looked forward to gradually became that of Qiao Nan.
At the sight that Qiao Nan was now more dazzling than Qiao Zijin, that she received top-notch grades and the liking of both her teachers and classmates, and even met, dated, and going to marry a man with such a high status, Ding Jiayi could not wait to destroy everything that Qiao Nan had.
The more glorious Qiao Nan was, the more Ding Jiayi seemed to have seen her younger self, the one who was dull and always quietly standing aside like a shadow as she watched her parents dote on her younger brother. They squandered the treatment, love, and protection that she yearned so much for on her younger brother as if he was a precious treasure.
Under Qiao Nan’s glory, Qiao Zijin felt increasingly unfair and dissatisfied. At the sight of this, Ding Jiayi seemed to have seen her younger self who felt indignant that her parents wanted to sell her so that they could have money for her younger brother to get a wife.
That should not be the case.
Why was it that all the good things and people in the world belong to the younger child in the family? Why couldn’t they belong to the elder child?
Wasn’t China the country that was most particular about rules and regulations? Didn’t they say that the elder one should be the one inheriting everything during the ancient times?
Even the emperor’s throne—didn’t they say that it should be passed down to the elder and not the younger one?
Since someone had given all that supposedly belonged to her to someone else, she could only rely on herself to snatch it all back.
Her life could only be as such. However, she must help Zijin watch after and guard everything that belonged to the latter. She could not let them be robbed by Qiao Nan, even if it was just a little of it.
“Qiao Nan, to me, you should not exist in this family. Zijin should be the only child of your dad and me. Besides Zhai Sheng, she should be the most outstanding and promising child in the quad. She should be the top scorer in the middle school examination and college entrance examination. She should also be the one getting engaged with Zhai Sheng. You should not have appeared. You should not have shamelessly robbed everything from your sister!”
It was as if Ding Jiayi had been possessed by her past. She constantly intertwined her past with Qiao Zijin’s experience.
In her mind, Qiao Nan had robbed everything that she had now from Qiao Zijin.
If she had not given birth to Qiao Nan, Qiao Zijin would be the only child and daughter in the family.
Zhai Sheng liked a lady from the Qiao family. As long as Qiao Nan was gone, he would definitely fancy Qiao Zijin, not to mention that Qiao Zijin was so much more outstanding than Qiao Nan. There was no reason that Zhai Sheng would not like Qiao Zijin.
Without Qiao Nan, Qiao Zijin would be Zhai Sheng’s fiancée. Qiao Dongliang would not have left the army either. At this point in time, he would definitely have become a battalion commander.
With the Zhai family as his in-laws, it was also a sure bet that Qiao Dongliang would be promoted to regiment commander eventually.
That was right. Qiao Nan’s birth was a mistake that should not have existed.
Ding Jiayi looked at Qiao Nan coldly. “I gave you this life. I dislike you and you are not willing to acknowledge me as your mother either. If you let Zhai Sheng marry Zijin, you don’t need to address me as your mom anymore in the future. I also don’t need you to give me money or support me. Don’t glare at me. Everything that you have is robbed from Zijin. I am asking you to do this so that you can return everything to its rightful owner, lest you commit too many sins.”
Ding Jiayi used Zhai Sheng as a condition to propose the transaction of severing the mother-daughter ties with Qiao Nan.
“Hahahaha…” Qiao Nan thought that the ‘unfit theory’ that she heard from Ding Jiayi earlier was already absurd. She did not expect to hear more nonsensical and shameless words thereafter.
Qiao Nan was crying and laughing at the same time. She was laughing so hard that she was holding her tummy as she shouted in pain. “Hahaha, so funny! It’s too funny! It’s so funny that my waist is going to break!”
When her face was full of tears of laughter and eyes so dry that there were no more tears, Qiao Nan then straightened her waist. “I know. You always think that I owe you a life and I should obey whatever you say.”
“I have already given you a solution that will solve the problem forever. There is only one chance. I hope you can cherish it.”
If Wei De and Zhai Hua’s marriage could benefit Zijin, she might as well let Zijin marry Zhai Sheng and enter the Zhai family directly.
