I Might Be A Fake Cultivator

Chapter 1038

The Sword Burial Necklace was still absorbing swords relentlessly.

A strange occurrence then took place, which caused An Lin and Lan Xiaoni’s expressions to shift dramatically.

“The ground is shrinking?” Lan Xiaoni’s eyes widened, and she whipped her tail instinctively to rise higher into the air, thereby taking her further away from the ground.

“This is probably a fake ground…” An Lin’s lips twitched.

The ground began to shrink and disappear into the blue hole, as if the whole world were being sucked into the necklace. As for where all of this matter was going, An Lin did not know.

The only thing worthy of celebration was that the deceased swords stabbed into the ground weren’t fake.

As the earth shrank, the entire space around them also seemed to be gradually shrinking.

An Lin could even see the murky grey sky quickly sweeping toward them, as if the world was compressing around him in an effort to crush him.

After all of the deceased swords had been absorbed, An Lin quickly put away the Sword Burial Necklace before unleashing his Divine Flames and Holy Flame to combat the converging sky!

Lan Xiaoni’s features turned pale with fright, and she immediately unleashed a massive wave into the sky.

However, the waves crashed into An Lin’s flames and evaporated into water vapor.

The temperature of An Lin’s flames were also adversely affected as a result.

An Lin: “…”

Lan Xiaoni: “…”

“If I could allow you to die, I would definitely kick you out without a second thought,” An Lin said with a serious expression.

Lan Xiaoni hung her head with shame as tears welled up in her eyes again.

Boom!

The compressing space around them made contact with An Lin’s flames before instantly vanquishing them.

So powerful!

An Lin drew a sharp intake of breath.

He was just about to unleash his Origin Energy of the Netherworld in order to fight for his life when the space around him completely compressed and engulfed himself as well as Lan Xiaoni.

Another burst of dizzying spatial transfer ensued.

When An Lin reopened his eyes, he discovered that he had already arrived in a sealed corridor.

The corridor was quite wide and was constructed from bluestone. Countless dark blue flames lit up the corridor from both sides, revealing a series of Spirit Fish Clan and Heavenly Turtle Tribe statues along both sides of the corridor, all of which wore different expressions.

Some of the statues were either smiling or chortling, or had fearful or twisted expressions… Some of them had such wide smiles that the corners of their lips had already reached around to their ears, presenting quite a ghastly sight.

Claustrophobia, deathly silence, abnormality, horror…

All types of atmospheres wafted through the air.

Lan Xiaoni’s reaction upon seeing the mermaid statues was even more violent. Her breathing had accelerated drastically, and she was slowly sidling up to An Lin.

An Lin was a little annoyed by this. “Get away from me! You stink like seafood!”

Lan Xiaoni almost threw up a mouthful of blood and retorted with a furious expression, “That’s not the stench of seafood! That’s my bodily fragrance, do you understand? How can you use such crude words like seafood to describe my enticing scent?!”

The mermaid princess finally couldn’t repress her anger any longer.

He could look down on her, but how could he insult her alluring scent?!

An Lin was not enraged by her outburst. Instead, a curious expression appeared on his face. “But you smell like the sea, except more delicious. Isn’t that the smell of seafood?”

Lan Xiaoni’s teeth chattered with rage.

Suddenly, she noticed an operative word, and she retreated a few steps before letting loose a fearful scream, “Ah… You can’t! Even though I’m beautiful, that doesn’t mean I taste good!”

An Lin looked at Lan Xiaoni with a confused expression. What was wrong with her? She was always either screaming or crying, and none of her words made sense! Was she retarded?!

He hadn’t noticed just how much emotional trauma the poor mermaid princess was suffering from upon being referred to as seafood.

Lan Xiaoni felt like An Lin was using this description on her as he wanted to eat her!

An Lin shook his head before continuing down the corridor.

He also touched some of the statues to find that they had all been constructed from copper, and there was nothing special about them.

He did consider taking all of these statues with him, but that would be going too far, and it might leave the owner of the tomb with a bad impression. As such, he decided that he would only take the best treasures.

The two of them didn’t have to walk far before reaching the end of the corridor.

They arrived in a circular chamber where there were two tightly shut doors and one key.

Above one of the doors was a plaque with the words “Tomb Treasure Vault”, while the plaque on the other door read “Tribal Secret”.

It was clear that they could only choose one of the two paths.

A scorching light appeared in Lan Xiaoni’s eyes upon seeing the Tribal Secret door.

She had never forgotten her mission to fight for the future of the Spirit Fish Clan! It was quite clear that the Tribal Secret door would lead her to information that would decide the fate of the Spirit Fish Clan!

Lan Xiaoni grabbed the key and held it tightly in her hand before turning toward the Tribal Secret door, as if she were looking at the door of hope.

She slowly made her way toward the door before a hand clamped down firmly on her snowy white shoulder.

“Oi, where are you going? That’s the wrong direction.”

A calm yet commanding voice sounded from behind her.

Lan Xiaoni’s body trembled, and she turned to the man behind her, who had a firm expression on his face.

“B-but treasures can be found anywhere, the future of a tribe is the most important thing,” Lan Xiaoni argued.

It had taken her a vast amount of courage to speak those words.

A cold smile appeared on An Lin’s face upon hearing this. “I don’t give two cents about the future of your tribe. I’m only here for treasures…”

Lan Xiaoni’s eyes widened with incredulity. “You… Did Gu Yu not make an agreement with you? Did it not ask you to return with the secrets of the Heavenly Turtle Tribe?”

Gu Yu had personally delivered An Lin here, so Lan Xiaoni refused to believe that there was no agreement made between the two of them in advance.

“There was indeed an agreement. Gu Yu told me to grab all of the treasures I can and take photos of anything undecipherable to me before delivering those to it,” An Lin replied with a nonchalant expression.

Lan Xiaoni was in shock.

What a lenient and thoughtful demand!

Lan Xiaoni almost shed tears again at the huge disparity between the two of them.

She had the future of her entire tribe on her shoulders, while An Lin was just here to loot this place!

But how could she give in?

She was fighting for the future of her tribe! This was an honor in itself, and she refused to back down!

An Lin pointed at the Tomb Treasure Vault door and issued a stern command, “Hurry up and open that door!”

“Alright!” Lan Xiaoni nodded obediently before making her way toward the Tomb Treasure Vault door and opening it with the key.

An Lin was too powerful.

It would not be wise to go against him. She had to endure this humiliation for the greater good!

The two of them entered through the door and passed through a narrow corridor before arriving at an extremely cavernous space.

A statue of a male member of the Spirit Fish Clan over ten thousand feet tall stood at the very center of this space.

Its features were extremely handsome, and it had long, curly hair that reached down to his waist. It was holding an intricately crafted staff in its hand.

After the two of them arrived at the cavernous space, the statue’s eyes suddenly turned to look directly at An Lin and Lan Xiaoni.

An Lin’s heart tightened as he was struck by the feeling that he was being watched by a certain power.

Lan Xiaoni let loose a cry of surprise. “He was the Spirit Fish Clan High Priest who was buried here, Xi Haizi!”
