After a good night’s sleep, Pei Ge rose groggily from her warm and cozy bed. Her mood quickly improved when her eyes were graced by the warm sun rays outside her window.

Hearing her daughter’s voice, Zhang Manhua, who was making breakfast in her apron in the kitchen, poked her head out and grinned. “Ge Ge, you’re up! The congee is ready; quickly wash up and have your breakfast.”
She could only oblige to her mother’s order.
Noting the man’s cloudy expression, she tightly pursed her lips together.
“I said that our contract should’ve already ended.”
The air in the car turned severely cold after she repeated herself.
She took a deep breath and balled her hands into fists, trying to resist the man’s intimidating aura.
“I’ll give you back the 500,000 yuan today, and that should end our contract, but I won’t quit my job since you did help our family a lot.”
She calmly made her stand and did not falter at the man’s chilling aura.
They were people from different worlds and should not get embroiled in each other’s lives.
She had no intention of asking him for help in the first place. Everything occurred simply because she was left with no choice. Now, all of that was over.
The words she could not say made her heart ache and her face turned slightly whiter.
“That’s not allowed! I don’t agree to it!” He stared her down with his gaze so cold it was scalding.
“Pei Ge, what right do you have to rescind the contract?!”
