Chapter 583 - Does this annoying fellow like her?
For some reason, she felt nervous.
Before, she would rather die than appear in front of the man in such a revealing dress, but now, wearing this evening gown that exposed her back and her chest, she especially wanted the man to see her and let him… notice her.
“What’s the matter?” Lily asked when he noted her flushed cheeks and slightly wavering gaze.
She returned to her senses at the stylist’s question and took one last look at herself in the mirror.
Looking at her unfamiliar reflection, she breathed deeply, lifted her dress train, and headed to the door.
It had to be said that she looked stunning in her get-up.
Under the stylist’s makeup skills, which could practically be called plastic surgery, the body that had some fats here and there looked petite right now.
“Pei Ge, I’m telling you this: don’t even think about it!” With a grim face, he gripped her wrist tightly.
He grip was vice-like, for fear of her disappearing from his life.
That was what would likely happen if he let go.
Just the thought of her disappearing for good in his life made his heart ache dully.
A little stunned by his adamance, she stared at him wide-eyed.
Searching his face, which was as grim as the bottom of a pot, a thought popped in her head.
Could it be that this awkward yet arrogant annoying fellow… liked her?
She recalled that, in primary school, there was such a boy.
He lived near her house, so they went to kindergarten and elementary school together.
Because of that, she saw him as a very close friend.
However, one day, when the other kids asked him if he liked her, he gave them a reply, which dripped with disdain.
“Who likes that frail, little crybaby?! I hate her the most! If my mom didn’t ask me to take care of her, I’d never walk with her! I’m a real man! I don’t enjoy playing with her at all!”
She remembered that, after she had heard the boy’s response, she cried her eyes out as she ran back home. Afterward, she never went to and from school with that boy again.
When it was time for their graduation, though, the boy unexpectedly appeared before her and told her that he liked her…
This man… Was he like that awkward, little kid? Did he actually like her, too?
Could she have hopes for that?
“Do you—”
