Chapter 1210 - Nothing Works
Chapter 1209 – Nothing Works
But, Tang Yun had the same type of cold hands as well! Lin Yi didn’t pay attention back then, but it seemed now that there really was a problem! But wasn’t Tang Yun fine? Or did Tang Yun just have cold hands since birth?
“For the methods regarding treatment… They exist, but they’re not practical right now.” Old Lin sighed, “This is a life we’re talking about, after all.”
“What methods? Tell me, we’re in a rush here, Old Lin! You’ve become so draggy!” Lin Yi rushed him helplessly.
“First, you need to find someone whose practitioner art has the light aspect of the sun- this person would have to move their qi slowly into her body’s dark aura regularly. It wouldn’t solve the problem entirely, but it could extend her life! This person, however, must be someone above Sky Class!” Old LIn said, “However, this sort of method has its limits. As first, the Sky Class will be able to hold it at bay, but as the years go by, the dark aura will get stronger, and it’ll take even more effort to suppress it- until it becomes impossible at one point!”
“Hm? Old Lin, the Art of Dragon Mastery I’m practitioning- isn’t that a light aspect art? Then my qi should be able to work on Xiaoxiao, right?” Lin Yi remembered that the first time he used his qi on her it turned out to be effective. Why did it not work the second time? Did he miss something?
“Your Art of Dragon Mastery is exactly that, but you musn’t try it! Otherwise you’ll lose your life!” OLd Lin quickly warned LIn Yi, “You’re not strong enough at all, and it wouldn’t work. You give her your qi now and you’ll get sucked dry- all your qi will become a delicious feast for the dark aura!”
“Ugh… I already got sucked dry…” Lin Yi said awkwardly.
“What! Already… Sucked dry..?” Old Lin froze, his tone getting worried, “Yi, you’re serious?”
Lin Yi froze upon hearing that tone, as well- in his mind, Old Lin was someone who was never surprised, always composed and poker-faced. Even the last time he got hurt, Old Lin never panicked, either, only telling Lin Yi to come back to the village to hide things out. This time, it was clear that he was worried!
This touched Lin Yi- the old man always looked as if he didn’tcare, but once things went wrong it was evident that wasn’t the case.
“Yes, my strength level is zero right now,” Lin Yi said.
“You’re not dead yet? Are you man or ghost?” Old Lin asked.
“Not dead, I’m alive,” Lin Yi didn’t know if he should be amused.
“As long as you’re not dead!” Old Lin breathed out in relief, “You can get your strength back through practitioning, but nothing’s possible when you’re dead! Good, good, you didn’t die!”
“…” Lin Yi was a bit speechless, “I have experience from last time. When I was in Yanujing, I got sucked dry too, but because of that I broke through after practitioning! I think that this time will probably allow me to break through, as well- I’m around Mystic mid phase peak’s bottleneck already, I’ll be able to burst through!”
“Wha-!” Old Lin’s eyes went wide upon hearing the words, “You brat, you used her to play levelling up? Are you trying to give me a heart attack?”
“It’s not levelling up… It’s just that I was close to breaking through, and after getting destroyed and regaining strength again, it was easier to push through with the flow…” Lin Yi smiled bitterly.
“Fine, the point now is that you can’t do this yet,” Old Lin said seriously, “Even if you get all your strength back and give it to her, repeating the proecess, it wouldn’t help. Your qi will get eaten up by the dark aura, making it stronger!”
“I see…” Lin Yi felt rather troubled- his good intentions had backfired? All that qi he gave Xiaoxiao, not only did it not benefit her, it was making things worse? As for getting a Sky Class with a practitioner’s art with a light aspect… He couldn’t make someone, not right now. The old man said that this would only extended her life, after all, it wasn’t a permanent solution! And so Lin Yi moved his attention to the second method, “Old man, since there’s a first method there are other ways too, right?”
“There are. There’s a legendary fruit called Fire Spirit’s Fruit- it’s considered a fruit of pure light, encompassing the light qi of the earth and skies. One helping and it will hold down the dark aura for more than ten years! Of course, it varies depending on the person. Some will only get seven or eight years instead of ten, but this is the more solid method,” Old Lin said, “Much safer than the first one, too!”
“Fire Spirit’s Fruit? I’ve never heard of that before, what is it?” Lin Yi blinked.
“I don’t know either,” Old Lin’s words were like a bucket of cold water.
“Ugh…” Lin Yi wanted to bark at this guy- why did he tell him this if he didn’t know? Wasn’t this useless then? Lin Yi held back his frustration, “Old man, why’d you tell me then, if you don’t know?”
“I read an introduction on this type of fruit from an ancient text, it’s an optimal item to hold down the dark aura, but I have no idea what this thing looks like or where I can find it,” Old LIn sighed, “I would’ve went searching if I knew how, I wouldn’t have waited so long!”
The old man was right- he would’ve went to find it already if he knew how. Lin Yi didn’t think about that because of how rushed he was.
“Then wouldn’t this be just a legend then? It’s unachievable?” Lin Yi asked, troubled.
“Yes, unless you can get a Fire Spirit’s fruit and let her try it,” Old Lin nodded.
“Is there a third way?” Lin Yi asled.
“A third way… I guess so… Find a top tier book of practitioner art of a dark aspect, and by the time she reaches Sky Class she’d be able to use that dark aura for her own strength!” Old Lin said after thinking about it.
“That’s…” Lin Yi was speechless- putting aside how difficult finding that would be, how was she supposed to level up in the city like this, where there’s little amounts of qi? And to Sky Class..? The most important thing, however, was the fact that she was unconscious! How was she supposed to train? Lin Yi couldn’t help it, “Isn’t all this bullshit then?”
“It is bullshit, I said it from the start, I can’t do anything!” Old Lin sighed.
