The Brilliant Fighting Master

Chapter 55

Ning Ping’s shout could be heard from very far away.

Others were curious as to how Jiang Chen had offended Ning Ping and where Zhang Shichao was.

He ran away. Elder Li shook his head out of pity. This wasn’t Ning Ping’s fault. Jiang Chen’s performance exceeded everyone’s expectations.

Luckily, since Jiang Chen had shown his ace in the hole, he was in a more vulnerable position currently.

There was still a long way to go until the end of the trial. Jiang Chen only had a slim chance of survival.

“I would have been able to kill him if he didn’t have the spiritual armour,” Jiang Chen thought to himself.

Although Ning Ping was in the beginning of the late stage of the Gathering Yuan State, Jiang Chen had mastered the full spirit of the sword.

Since he was unable to see what had happened in the tree hole, his conclusion seemed logical.

To his disappointment, Jiang Chen went in the opposite direction like a sly fox when Ning Ping came very close.

Then he saw two people in the place Jiang Chen was headed for.

“We could have a chance if he collides with them,” Elder Li thought.

It was already night. Jiang Chen noticed a bonfire ahead.

He approached carefully and found Su Qian and Shen Huan were there.

They were sitting by the bonfire shoulder to shoulder, exchanging sweet nothings. Jiang Chen almost thought he had made it out of the trial ground.

Suddenly, Jiang Chen stopped and stood still. He didn’t even dare to breathe. He had stepped onto something unusual.

He grew up in the Hundred Thousand Mountains, so he was sure that there was a trap trigger near.

After adjusting his center of gravity, he leapt back in a hurry and was more than ten yards away with only one jump.

There appeared a wooden shelf full of spikes where he had been standing. If he hadn’t been careful, his body would have been pierced through.

“What was that?!”

Shen Huan and Su Qian immediately came from the bonfire. They were surprised to see Jiang Chen there, especially Su Qian.

“There isn’t even a warning for the trap. I almost got killed,” Jiang Chen sneered.

Traps for beasts usually had warnings to avoid people being hurt by mistake.

“You were sneaking around. We wouldn’t have done anything wrong even if you had been killed!” Su Qian said angrily.

“At the trial ground, the greatest threat is human beings,” Shen Huan didn’t feel sorry, either. His eyes were icy cold.

“All right. I don’t want to waste my time with you. See you around.”

Jiang Chen shrugged his shoulders and intended to leave.

But to his surprise, Shen Huan stopped him and asked, “Are you Jiang Chen? The guy both Zhang Shichao and Ning Ping want to kill?”

“So what if I am?” Jiang Chen answered his question with a question.

Shen Huan beamed with joy. His eyes were filled with intention of kill. He said, “You’ve heard it, too. There are many benefits to killing you. Maybe you also have a flag of the natural law with you.”

“You want to kill me?”

Jiang Chen was amused. He looked over to Su Qian. She didn’t speak, standing behind Shen Huan silently.

“Do you know why he made that promise? Because even he is unable to kill me, let alone you. By the way, I killed Zhang Shichao.”

“Ha, you killed Zhang Shichao? Do you think I’m stupid? Do you think you’ll scare me by saying this?!” Shen Huan didn’t believe him at all. He drew his spiritual sword out of its sheath immediately.

“If you want to risk your life, I’ll lend you a hand,” Jiang Chen smiled.
