The Brilliant Fighting Master

Chapter 164

After a day and a night, Jiang Chen formed three holy points successfully, then slept to recover his energy.

He had planned to rescue Shui Sheng after waking up, but to his surprise, Mo Li’s guys found him first.

“Someone is inside!”

Jiang Chen heard a great disturbance from outside. He pushed the door open and saw a group of people had intruded past the gate and walked into the yard.

Everyone stared at him when they saw him standing at the door.

“It’s him, the one who exchanged for the fierce black metal,” a guy shouted in surprise.

It turned out that the Mos hadn’t given up when they lost track of Jiang Chen. They had been searching the City of Wolf and finally found him.

The square was in the same state as some days ago. There weren’t many people, but there weren’t just a few either. They were wandering around the cage, some feeling remorse or empathy, some even gloating.

Jiang Chen’s arrival didn’t catch anyone’s attention, not until he came up to the cage.

“Jiang Chen?”

Two youngsters showed up before him. They were Xu Tao and Han Qianye. Jiang Chen had saved them once.

They were staring at him as if he was a ghost.

Jiang Chen ignored them and kept walking, then saw Tan Yun standing under the cage, looking up and speaking. “Shui Sheng, what should I say to you? You didn’t have to stick up for him back there. You didn’t help Jiang Chen at all, and now you’ve ended up like this.”

Shui Sheng didn’t answer. Maybe she didn’t want to. Maybe she wasn’t able to. It was silent in the cage.

Tan Yun flew into a rage. She crossed her arms over her chest and said, “Do you think you’re the only noble person in the world? You’re honest and upright, while others are just worms in a ditch? Let me tell you one thing: this is how it works in this world. Your kindness is nothing but foolishness!”

“I’ve seen the dark side of the world, but I still believe in the good of humanity.” Shui Sheng slightly moved her head. Her voice was weak and hoarse, but as unshakable as a mountain.

Tan Yun was struck dumb. She suddenly kicked the food she had brought and said angrily, “I’m interested to see how you’ll look when you starve to death. Bah!”

Suddenly, Tan Yun sensed someone behind her. She was given a scare and hurried to jump away.

When she was about to look back to see who it was, she was slapped across the face.

“Jiang Chen!” Shui Sheng called him immediately.

“Jiang Chen?”

Tan Yun was covering her face where she had been slapped. She couldn’t believe it, but she did see Jiang Chen standing there, as upright as a sharp sword.

Whoosh!

He threw his sword out and the cage was open. Shui Sheng fell, and he caught her in his arms.

“Look out!” Shui Sheng shouted with her last bit of strength left.

This square had been a trap for a long time.

The machine-operated snake dashed over fiercely. Machines throwing bolts appeared out of nowhere and put the whole square under siege.

Jiang Chen flew into the sky as the spear-like bolts were shot at him. They were moving extensively at high speeds, covering the whole sky above the square.

“He’s so fast!” Tan Yun exclaimed.

Yet Jiang Chen continued to move even faster. He flew high enough that all of the bolts hit nothing.

Jiang Chen took Shui Sheng to an isolated peak and put her down. He fed her some panaceas and treated her.

“Wait for me here,” Jiang Chen said after finishing everything.

“Where are you going?” Shui Sheng asked, confused.

Jiang Chen stood up and looked at the City of Wolf that was far away. He said, “To get revenge for you.”
