Chapter 232
Jiang Chen had studied the Icy Heart Formula. He had regarded it as a challenge and intended to crack its side effects.
The result was disappointing; he couldn’t crack it, because the Icy Heart Formula wasn’t meant to be practiced by human beings. It was the Icy Spirit’s method.
The Icy Spirit was a prehistoric species. Although they looked similar to human beings, they had a mysterious power that enabled them to develop rapidly, like monsters, so they were seen as nobler than human beings.
In short, human beings couldn’t control the Icy Heart Formula. If they forced themselves to practice it, they would be controlled by it in the end.
Jiang Chen had released his research results to the public in his previous life in the hopes that people wouldn’t practice it blindly, because its practitioners would not only change into completely different people, but would stop feeling completely!
Jiang Chen was anxious when he learned Li Xue’er was practicing the Icy Heart Formula. He wished he could return to the Natural Law School immediately to stop her, but she had been spellbound. She didn’t have another choice.
If she couldn’t get rid of the devil inside, she would lose all of her progress, her meridians would be frozen, and she would become useless.
“Fine! I’ll take the class-six breakthrough panacea. I do deserve it for what I did in the Realm of Beasts!”
Jiang Chen grasped the panacea and strode towards the door.
When he walked by a lotus crystal lamp, he accidentally saw the reflection of Li Xue’er’s face on it. He turned around with a rush, but she had closed her eyes.
Was it an illusion?
He had seen her expression change in the reflection.
But, crystal wasn’t a mirror. Its reflection had a certain level of distortion. Jiang Chen wasn’t sure.
As soon as he walked out of the palace, he immediately flew away from the Peak of Ingénue.
When he was already very far away, he looked back and took another glance at the Peak of Ingénue.
That’s alright. I don’t have time for relationships anyway.
He knew he was over his apprentice sister. It was impossible to be together.
…
…
The school leader called Jiang Chen over on the day before his departure.
He pushed the door to let himself in when he got to the Palace of the Natural Law. He found the palace different from what he had imagined. There was only a small hall and two small doors, one on the left and the other on the right.
“Go through the door on the left. Follow my holy awareness.” He heard Su Xiuyi’s voice.
Jiang Chen went into the door without thinking. Behind the door was a narrow and crooked passage. He walked for a while and heard the sound of gears.
There are too many changes in this passage. I could spend my whole life in this labyrinth if no one was leading the way.
Jiang Chen was surprised, but fortunately, he soon saw a door ahead of him.
He pushed it open. The abrupt light made him very uncomfortable.
When he moved his hand away from his eyes he saw something astounding.
Outside the door was a cliff with an open view. He could see a magnificent landscape of mountains, rivers, and an endless sea of clouds. The sunset was on the other side of the world. He was looking at it horizontally.
Beside the cliff was a kiosk.
Su Xiuyi was sitting by a stone table, waving at him.
Jiang Chen walked over and saw a few jars of liquor and an extraordinary knife on the table.
“You’re the toughest guy I’ve ever seen. You walked out of the Realm of Beasts. That’s awfully impressive,” Su Xiuyi said.
