The Indifferent Young Master’s Flash Marriage

Chapter 15

Upon hearing Jiang Xuecheng’s question, Su Wan realized she was indeed hungry. Besides the breakfast she took with Jiang Xuecheng, she had not had anything today.

Su Wan touched her stomach awkwardly and under Jiang Xuecheng’s cold look, spat out honestly, “I only had breakfast with you at the hotel today.”

Jiang Xuecheng stood up. He walked closer to Su Wan. Su Wan felt uneasy when she was enveloped by his huge shadow.

What was this man trying to do again?

 1

Just as Su Wan was making blind and disorderly conjectures, she heard Jiang Xuecheng’s calm voice, like a river flowing.

“Do you prefer Chinese or Western meals?”

Did he mean he was going to bring her to a restaurant?

Seeing her hesitance, Jiang Xuecheng frowned. He bent down and placed his palms on the couch. Looking Su Wan directly in the eye, he said, “Don’t test my patience. Tell me quick.”

The man forced Su Wan into a narrow space. His scorching hot breath was so near, Su Wan was unable to adapt.

All Su Wan could do was lean closer to the couch. Although this did not help with the situation, she turned her head to the side slightly and exclaimed softly, “Chinese meals.”

When he had her reply, Jiang Xuecheng released his hands. “Wait twenty minutes in the living hall for me. If you are bored, you can watch the television or read magazines.”

Then, he left. Su Wan saw him walking toward a winding corridor and in a while, he was out of sight.

So, he did not plan on bringing her out. Could he have meant to cook for her?

 Jiang Xuecheng can cook?

 1

Even if he could, it was not important as they were both not close. They had only known one another for two days.

This awareness came as a big surprise for Su Wan. When she thought of the check she had torn into pieces, this luxuriously furnished mansion, coupled with the Koenigsegg Agera R, Jiang Xuecheng’s family background was something not to be underestimated.

A man like him was willing to personally cook for her?

Su Wan’s heart faltered and she suppressed this weird feeling of hers.

Su Wan swept across the tidily arranged business magazines and military-political magazines on her right. Then, she decided to watch the television.

She switched on the huge LCD screen on the wall of the living hall. News about the latest incidents that were happening in Jiuzhou was on air.

Su Wan was speechless. First, there were the business and political magazines, then, it was the news channel focusing on Jiuzhou. This man’s private life was rigid and boring.

Su Wan shook her head and switched to another channel broadcasting dramas.

The LCD was showing a young couple walking on the street under one umbrella. The girl’s eyes were brimming with happiness and she stood quietly on her tiptoes to plant a kiss on the boy’s lips. The boy caressed the girl’s hair and both of them continued walking abreast.

3As Su Wan watched this, she felt upset. She sighed and switched the television off, curling herself up on the couch.

Suddenly, a fragrant aroma filled the air. Her stomach started rumbling again.

Su Wan saw Jiang Xuecheng arranging the plates and chopsticks on the table. Jiang Xuecheng took a glance at Su Wan and said, “Aren’t you hungry? Come here.”

Su Wan couldn’t resist the temptation of the food any longer. She followed her inner voice and walked toward the Ebony Gold Nan table.

Due to the limited time, Jiang Xuecheng did not prepare a rich meal.

The table was lined with a hand-embroidered table cloth with a plate of assorted bean curd, a plate of poached beef, and a bowl of fresh green vegetables atop. Unfortunately, it was bitter gourd, which she disliked.

2Smelling the tempting aroma, Su Wan wanted to start eating but dared not move as Jiang Xuecheng was watching by the side.

As if sensing her worries, Jiang Xuecheng excused himself placidly. “I’ll go and get something. Go ahead and eat first.”

Su Wan had no more qualms after Jiang Xuecheng left. She immediately went for the beef.

Su Wan was unlike girls who went for low calorie diets. She had been a meat lover all this while and was the type who couldn’t live without meat.

 2

What went beyond her expectation was Jiang Xuecheng’s exquisite culinary skills. It was not inferior to hotel chefs’.

Su Wan ate with satisfaction. Her previous depressed emotions had all disappeared, leaving only her love for the bowl of beef.

Just when Su Wan was shoving big mouthful after big mouthful of food into her mouth, Jiang Xuecheng returned. Su Wan was terrified and immediately sat up straight.

Jiang Xuecheng caught the sight of gravy on the corner of her lips and saw the almost diminished beef. He said faintly, “I didn’t think you would be so picky. Finish up the vegetables.”

Su Wan blushed. Succumbing to Jiang Xuecheng’s projection of natural dignity and power through his face, she obediently took a few pieces of bitter gourd into her bowl and swallowed bit by bit.

Jiang Xuecheng put the now empty glass in his hand down and poured himself another glass.

Su Wan snuck a glance at Jiang Xuecheng. The man holding the goblet was a natural aristocrat, elegant and noble. The dark red wine set off his cold appearance, bringing out the devil in him. He was so good-looking, it made her dizzy.

Su Wan looked away unnaturally. She took a glance at the wine bottle by the side.

After reading the label, Su Wan couldn’t resist from letting out a stunned remark. “Is this the 1992 Screaming Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon?”

It might be only a small bottle but the price was close to a million yuan!

Although Su Wan had always been well-off, compared to this man, it was like a dwarf meeting a giant.

Jiang Xuecheng raised his brows in surprise. “It looks like you know what’s what.”

Su Wan was not very happy being looked down upon. “Please, I’ve studied in Dong Chen Country for three years, don’t underestimate my English.”

Jiang Xuecheng stopped himself from commenting on Su Wan’s explanation. Her foolish image in his heart had been carved and could not be restored easily.

When he did not answer, Su Wan smiled awkwardly. She probed courageously, “Mr. Jiang, where are the clothes I was previously wearing?”

“I’ve thrown them away,” Jiang Xuecheng replied.

“What about my mobile phone? Have you thrown it away too?”

 “You’re smart.”

 4

Looking at Su Wan’s sad face, Jiang Xuecheng was not pleased.

“Are you stupid? Can a soaked phone still be used? S City is in chaos these days. If I had not checked your location, you may have been sold to who knows where!”

 4

So, the person who answered her call was him. Now that she recalled, Lin Fei’er’s and Jiang Xuecheng’s names were close to one another in her contact list. It was raining at that time and the sky was dark. She had called the wrong number…

Su Wan knew she had made a blunder and was ashamed of herself for misunderstanding Jiang Xuecheng. She had thought he kidnapped and wanted to rape her.

 1

Su Wan obediently listened to his lecture, hoping Jiang Xuecheng would forget about the fool she made of herself today.

Sigh! Why did she feel like Gu Zihang and Su Yurou’s betrayal had been put aside after meeting Jiang Xuecheng?

This man was definitely her predestined jinx.
