The woman was lying unconscious on the gurney with a face as pale as a sheet of paper.
Egger felt his heart being squeezed by an invisible hand.
“How is she?”
Looking up, the gaze from his deep blue eyes was like that of the cruelest wolf in the grassland. He glared at the nurse as though he wanted to eat her up alive.
The nurse began to shake just like the doctor earlier when she received this man’s glare.
“S-She…” The nurse stammered from shock.
She was tongue-tied for a moment and could not muster a coherent answer the moment she saw his dashing face contorted in a cruel grimace, which was akin to that of a man-eating beast.
That was because the other two babies’ condition did not look well, indeed.
Despite being born at the same time, the eldest child in his arms was fair and likeable just a big rice ball.
The other two babies, meanwhile, looked like sickly kittens with faces in an unhealthy shade of purple.
Their bodies and heads were too small as well.
One look, and people would know that these two were not very healthy.
“Sir, please give me back the child. You should accompany your girlfriend to the ward first. We’ll check these three babies first.”
The nurse took the child away from him thereafter.
Seeing the nurse’s receding back, Egger remained silent for a moment as his brows knitted tightly together.

Walking beside Pei Ge’s gurney, he entered the ward and took out his phone. He dialed a pediatrician whom he knew…
