Chapter 379 - Were My Tears All for Naught?
When Tang Jinyu asked the unexpected question, Jian Qi was shocked.
“Why do you ask, Instructor Tang?” Jian Qi remained calm. “Didn’t you tell us about them before we came?”
“All I did was greet the person we will be working with out of politeness!” Jian Qi looked at Tang Jinyu with a serious expression. “Are you jealous, Instructor Tang?”
“Shouldn’t you be asking me about the invitation sent to me by the Eagle Organization?”
As Tang Jinyu looked at Jian Qi, he began to speak coldly. “Well then, you better start explaining in detail. How did you end up receiving an invitation from this organization? Moreover, the Eagle Organization has always presented itself as a security company to outsiders. You seemed to have known immediately that this was a mercenary organization. I’m very curious as to why you were able to find out about such confidential information only after spending a few days in military school. Besides, you did not seem surprised by the appearance of this organization earlier. So, tell me, Jian Qi, how do you know about the Eagle Organization?”
After listening to the series of questions from Tang Jinyu, Jian Qi looked dazed.
What did it mean to get out from the mess one made only to get into more mess the same person created?
Jian Qi would be the prime example!
‘Instructor Tang, why must you have such a meticulous mind?’
Jian Qi finally knew why this person had been moved away from the frontlines to the back to become a strategic commander.
He was unusually smart!
It explained why he asked her to come out this far!
Jian Qi could not help but glance at the edge of the cliff as she gulped.
If she did not give him a satisfactory answer, would he kill her and obliterate the traces of murdering her?
When Tang Jinyu saw her plentiful facial expression, he could not help but frown. “What are you thinking about?”
“I was thinking if you would push me down…” Jian Qi began speaking meekly.
Tang Jinyu furrowed his brows. When he noticed that Jian Qi had clearly stopped being arrogant, he could not help but frown a little.
Had he frightened her?
Since Jian Qi was very good at observing other people’s facial expressions, she immediately knew what she had to do when she saw his facial expression right then.
“Wah…” Jian Qi cried out as tears immediately started rolling down her cheeks.
To her, pretending to cry was a piece of cake. Even the Oscars owed her a trophy for her splendid acting skills.
Originally, Jian Qi already had a soulful physical appearance. With her distinct facial features, and spectacularly beautiful eyes, she had a pitiful look in her tear-filled eyes. When she stared at a person, she looked very much like a large, adorable pet that had been mistreated.
“Acting Queen, that’s enough!” Tang Jinyu frowned and said in a deep voice.
However, Jian Qi began crying even harder because of what he said.
Tears streamed down her face as if she had been put through a lot of misery.
The frown on Tang Jinyu’s face became even deeper.
His harsh tone had become somewhat gentler. “I’m not yelling at you. Why are you crying?” He sounded helpless.
“Alright, stop crying.” Tang Jinyu took a deep breath as he pursed his lips in a fatigued manner.
“Little Tang Tang, you were furious…” Jian Qi said as she directly reached out with her hands to hug him, wiping her tears and snot against his chest.
Tang Jinyu sighed before patting her back. “Stop crying…” He said in a very soft voice.
While Jian Qi hugged him, she began to smile. A barely noticeable look of victory appeared in her eyes.
If she had known crying was this effective, she would have cried every single time to get her way with him!
After a while, Tang Jinyu sensed that the girl in his arms seemed to have calmed down. Therefore, he pushed her away and looked at her. “Now, can you answer my earlier questions?”
Jian Qi. “…”
‘Damn!’
‘Were my tears all for naught?’
‘I wish a lightning would strike me and kill me on the spot!’ Jian Qi cursed in her mind.
However, as soon as she did so, the sound of loud thunder could be heard before a terrifying thunderbolt flashed across the sky.
Jian Qi. “…”
