Chapter 169 - Jiang Xuecheng’s Suggestion
Jiang Xuecheng darted a look at the people coming and going. He didn’t mind feeding Su Wan in public but he didn’t wish to force her. So, he passed her the spoon and lunch box very quickly.
After Su Wan absent-mindedly ate three to five little dumplings, she wanted to put the lunch box down.
She kept looking at the door of the intensive care unit which was still tightly shut, obviously still unable to be rid of worries. Hence, her food seemed tasteless.
Jiang Xuecheng saw Su Wan’s load in her mind and there was a certain command in his deep voice. “Finish it, don’t be wasteful.”
Su Wan knew Jiang Xuecheng didn’t like her to go against his wish. She took the spoon which she just put down and had to eat all the remaining dumplings in the box.
Only when Su Wan finished eating did Jiang Xuecheng start asking about the accident.
“What happened today? Didn’t you come to accompany Lin Fei’er for a pregnancy test? How did she meet with an accident?”
At the mentioning of this, a surge of emotions welled up in Su Wan’s heart. Her eyes were slightly red and her dry eyes were now wet again.
“Don’t cry.” Jiang Xuecheng’s tone was serious. Seeing Su Wan sobbing, he felt helpless and he softened his tone of voice. “You won’t look pretty if you continue crying.”
Su Wan held Jiang Xuecheng’s hand. Her hands were covered by his wide hands and she felt her emotions slowly calm down.
She tilted her head and forced her tears back. Then, she narrated what had happened today intermittently.
Su Wan’s voice was not loud but it was enough for everyone present to hear clearly.
Even Jiang Xuecheng, who was usually indifferent, frowned after hearing about the incident, not to mention Lin Fei’er’s biological parents. Mr. and Mrs. Lin’s heart raged like a storm. It hurt so much that they found it hard to breathe!
Actually, Mr. and Mrs. Lin had heard Li Peng narrate it once earlier on but Li Peng had touched on it lightly and tried to make it less serious.
On the other hand, Su Wan as an onlooker and Lin Fei’er’s best friend, would definitely stand on Lin Fei’er’s side. Her words showed her detest toward the behavior of the scumbag Li Peng.
When Su Wan’s voice died down, Mr. and Mrs. Lin’s body trembled. They didn’t want to quarrel openly with Li Peng now and could only sigh.
Mrs. Lin’s tears kept flowing and as she lay on her husband’s shoulders, she said, “My poor daughter, why did she have to meet with such incident…?”
Mr. Lin was sad but as the pillar of the family, he could only console his wife by saying, “Don’t be afraid. Fei’er will recover, she will definitely be okay.”
Jiang Xuecheng’s eyes swept across the old couple who were crying and then landed on Su Wan, who looked extremely worried.
Su Wan was a person who was loyal to her friends. If Lin Fei’er’s condition worsened, he was afraid Su Wan wouldn’t be happy in the near future.
Su Wan looked down with a heavy look.
“The doctor said that although Fei’er is out of danger, she will only wake up in a day or two. Even if she wakes up, she has to lie in the hospital for two months or so and the doctor is unsure as to how much she can recover.”
Jiang Xuecheng caressed Su Wan’s hair and consoled her gently. “Since it’s a long-term battle, you must pull yourself together. If Lin Fei’er wakes up and sees that all of you are sad, it wouldn’t be good for her recovery.”
Su Wan nodded gently. She clenched her fists and hoped she could be stronger.
Life must continue and one could not collapse just because of some setbacks.
Su Wan would tell Lin Fei’er the same. She hoped when Lin Fei’er woke up, she would still be the same smiley girl.
Jiang Xuecheng looked at Su Wan and then at Lin Fei’er’s parents. He stood up and walked towards them.
“I have a suggestion, would you like to consider it?”
Lin Fei’er’s parents were taken aback. They stared blankly at the handsome man in front of them helplessly.
Although it was their first time seeing Jiang Xuecheng, Mr. and Mrs. Lin knew this was a man who looked young but was powerful in Jiuzhou.
Mr. Lin responded first. “Mr. Jiang, please tell us your suggestion.”
Jiang Xuecheng looked at the door of the intensive care unit which was still shut and spoke calmly.
“If you’re willing, I can help you to transfer Lin Fei’er to the affiliated hospital of Zhao Hua University.”
As soon as this was said, everyone went into an uproar, especially Lin Fei’er’s parents. Their bodies trembled with joy.
If Zhao Hua University was said to be the most outstanding university in Jiuzhou, then the affiliated hospital of Zhao Hua University would be the best three-star hospital in Jiuzhou!
The doctors of Zhao Hua Hospital were all famous. Most people couldn’t make an appointment even if they wished to, let alone be admitted for this kind of emergency cases!
Lin Fei’er’s mother wiped her tears. Trembling, she held her husband to support herself. Her lips trembled from excitement. “Mr. Jiang, really?”
“Of course.” Jiang Xuecheng nodded indifferently.
Hearing his promise, Lin Fei’er’s parents were overjoyed. They were stunned for a moment and Mrs. Lin lowered her head, about to bow and thank Jiang Xuecheng.
Su Wan woke up from her joy. She quickly held Mrs. Lin on behalf of Jiang Xuecheng.
“Xuecheng and I are only doing what we can. Aunty, you don’t have to bow.”
Mr. and Mrs. Lin looked at Jiang Xuecheng gratefully. Then, Mrs. Lin held Su Wan’s hand and said, “Thank you, Wan and thank you, Mr. Jiang. Thank you, really thank you.”
“You’re most welcome, Uncle and Aunty. Fei’er will recover soon.”
Su Wan gave her a comforting smile and then tilted her head sideways as she asked softly, “When shall we transfer Fei’er then?”
Jiang Xuecheng’s eyes moved and his pleasant voice was like flowing water.
“I asked Ah Si to contact Zhao Hua Hospital when I was on my way here just now. We can send Lin Fei’er over tonight.”
Su Wan’s body shook when she heard this. She had never thought Jiang Xuecheng would think it through so thoroughly that almost everything had been considered in advance.
Lin Fei’er’s parents were as happy as a lark. Initially, they had thought that the quickest would be the next day but they had not expected Jiang Xuecheng to be far more thoughtful than they were.
Lin Fei’er’s parents knew that if not for Su Wan’s sake, Jiang Xuecheng would not have done anything for Lin Fei’er. Luckily, Lin Fei’er had Su Wan as her best friend.
After the excitement, Mr. Lin was trembling as he asked, “Can we go over to Zhao Hua Hospital together tonight?”
“Yes, but not too many people,” as Jiang Xuecheng said this, he looked at Su Wan. “Wan Wan, let’s go home together tonight.”
Su Wan hesitated for a moment and just when she was about to plead Jiang Xuecheng, Mrs. Lin spoke first.
“Wan has watched over Fei’er for so long and must be tired. She has to go to work tomorrow, so she should go home tonight.”
