The Indifferent Young Master’s Flash Marriage

Chapter 226 - Nobody Forced Her To Drink It

Jiang Xuecheng’s lips were pursed into a cold and hard line. He looked at Jiang Zhiyuan steadily. His eyes were fixed without moving away.

“Do you still remember the bottle of perfume that An’ning gave Wan Wan this afternoon? She drank it and ended up here.”

Jiang Xuecheng paused and he shifted his eyes, which were as sharp as a knife, to Jiang Haoxuan.

“Of course, nobody forced her to drink it.”

This sentence was undoubtedly a slap to Jiang Haoxuan’s face. Jiang Haoxuan snorted coldly but trembled as Jiang Xuecheng stared. He swallowed his words which had reached his mouth.

Luo Xiuxiu was shocked upon hearing this. She stumbled backward and stabilized herself.

“Since nobody forced her, why did An’ning try to hurt herself like this?”

Jiang Xuecheng nodded at Su Wan who was behind him. Su Wan was slightly taken aback but immediately understood what he wanted. She rummaged through her handbag and took out the identification report from Zhao Hua Hospital and passed it to him.

Su Wan looked at Jiang Xuecheng who was in front of her. She was very touched and it showed on her pretty face.

She felt satisfied and happy to have a man defending her like this.

Holding the identification report, a cold light flashed through his bottomless eyes. He threw the report forward and spoke indifferently, “Take a look yourselves.”

Luo Xiuxiu picked up the piece of paper and when she saw the words on it, she couldn’t help widening her eyes.

After she read the contents, Luo Xiuxiu held the paper tighter. Her usual smile had faded from her face and her look was completely tense.

After a long time of spacing out, there was a trace of pain and shock on Luo Xiuxiu’s wrinkled face.

“Xuecheng, is what’s written here real?”

Jiang Xuecheng looked up slightly. He swept across Luo Xiuxiu’s dull appearance calmly and with his tone still as calm as ever, he asked, “Do you think there’s a need for your grandson to lie?”

Luo Xiuxiu’s face was tight and her eyes were full of disbelief.

Jiang Zhiyuan, who was by her side, saw her look. He took the paper from her hand and browsed through the information very quickly.

The shocking contents came into view and he pursed his lips. He was a man who had seen all kinds of storms. Although his fingers trembled slightly at first, he had now regained his usual calmness.

Xu Ziyao and Jiang Wei’s doubts increased and so they surrounded Jiang Zhiyuan and went through the identification report.

When those words entered their brains, both Xu Ziyao and Jiang Wei were stunned.

How could it be? How could Sheng An’ning do such a contemptible thing?

At the thought of that gentle girl, coldness appeared on Xu Ziyao’s and Jiang Wei’s back. It was only after a good while that the both of them recovered from their shock.

Xu Ziyao and Jiang Wei looked at one another and couldn’t help showing a trace of bitter smiles on their lips.

Jiang Haoxuan looked terrible. When he saw the seniors’ reactions, he knew they had believed seventy percent of the identification report.

If this was the case, it would not be favorable to An’ning.

No, he could not allow this to happen…

Jiang Haoxuan walked forward anxiously and kept shaking his head like a rattle drum.

“Father, Mother, Grandfather, Grandmother, all of you have watched An’ning grow up. Don’t you know her well? She’s a person who dared not even kill an ant, how could she do such a thing to Sis-in-Law?”

Jiang Haoxuan took a deep breath. He came forward to hug Xu Ziyao’s arm and there was bitterness in her throat.

“Mother, you can’t judge An’ning just by a report! What if this was someone’s plan to frame her?”

Su Wan’s look turned cold. This was the first time she saw a man abusing one over the shoulder of another and this person was Jiang Xuecheng’s little brother!

Xu Ziyao’s eyes swept across Su Wan. She let go of Haoxuan’s hand, “Haoxuan, how old are you now? Why are you crying like that?”

Sigh! Her little son was deeply in love with Sheng An’ning…

However, it was an unrequited love. If the person whom Sheng An’ning liked was Haoxuan, the seniors would not worry so much.

Xu Ziyao reprimanded Jiang Haozuan in a tone of a loving mother. Su Wan felt upset. She didn’t know how much her mother-in-law had taken in Jiang Haoxuan’s words.

Just when everyone had a load on their minds, the door of the emergency ward opened. A doctor wearing a surgical mask walked out.

The doctor took off his surgical mask. There was sweat on his forehead and he looked tired after the emergency operation.

He put down the medical records and looked up at the people in front of him. He then covered the excitement in his eyes gently.

He was considered lucky today to see everyone in the most powerful family in Jiuzhou.

However, he didn’t know what the relationship of the girl lying inside with the Jiang family was.

Jiang Zhiyuan walked forward quickly and with deep anxiety in his voice, asked, “Doctor, how is An’ning?”

Sheng An’ning was the granddaughter of his subordinate. Years of comradeship affected the heart. Even if Sheng An’ning really did such thing, it didn’t do any harm to Su Wan. Instead, she had hurt herself.

To Jiang Zhiyuan, it would be best to turn great trouble into little one. However, his grandson, Jiang Xuecheng, was too stubborn. He was afraid great effort was needed to convince him.

Jiang Haoxuan dashed towards the doctor. “Is An’ning alright? Doctor…”

The doctor nodded respectfully at Jiang Zhiyuan before looking at everyone present. His tone of voice was heavy but more so with rejoice.

“It is most fortunate that the patient was sent here in time and there was no delay in treatment, or I’m afraid the patient’s life would have been in danger. Her condition is stable now. Her blood pressure and temperature have returned to normal but you must take good care of her. Don’t let her be jarred and ingest such a toxic liquid anymore.”

Jiang Haoxuan’s tight heart relaxed that instant. He let out a long sigh and seized the doctor’s hand excitedly.

“Thank you, doctor.”

The doctor smiled humbly. “You’re welcome, Master Jiang. This is our duty.”

Xu Ziyao, who had been silent, suddenly asked, “Doctor, has An’ning recovered? Does she need to be admitted?”

The doctor looked at Xu Ziyao, who was dressed in a cheongsam. There was amazement in his eyes. It was rare to see such a beautiful and scholar-like woman like Xu Ziyao.

It was only for a moment before the doctor shifted his eyes away. He explained softly, “The patient is still weak. We’d suggest keeping her here one night to be monitored just in case. Of course, it wouldn’t be a big problem if you must bring her home, but someone has to watch over her.”
