Chapter 259 - You Can Call Me Mr. Chen
At a dim corner, Su Yurou was sitting beside the garbage bin and the mysterious man was standing under the street lamp. The light that shone on him was like a halo.
Indistinctly, there was an air of strange and unpredictable mystery.
Su Yurou sneezed. She had been in the rain for too long and had now caught a cold. However, the man was holding the umbrella for himself and had no intention to shield her from the rain.
Su Yurou seized her hands tightly. The man in front of her was tall and giving her lots of pressure.
Although she couldn’t see him clearly, Su Yurou could clearly sense that his eyes were examining her coldly.
“It’s not important who I am. The most important thing is that I can help you.”
The man’s voice was hoarse and it didn’t sound like his actual voice. He seemed to have changed his voice on purpose to achieve a certain objective.
Upon hearing this, Su Yurou’s slender body trembled. The cold rain flowed down her naked body and she was in an unkempt state.
“Could you please give me a set of clothing?”
Looking at the man who was examining her from above, Su Yurou felt more and more embarrassed. She finally suppressed her anxiety and tried requesting.
The man was silent for a moment. Then, he took out his windbreaker gracefully and threw it directly at Su Yurou.
The gesture of throwing was casual without any sympathy. Su Yurou felt the pain when she was hit by the windbreaker. However, she was extremely grateful to be able to get some kind of clothing to cover her body that instant.
The raindrops were flowing on Su Yurou’s pale face. She opened her hazy eyes and peeped at the man who threw her the windbreaker.
Under the black windbreaker, the man was wearing a similarly simple black shirt. Even though he did not show his face, there was an air of indifference about him.
He was such a strange man…
Su Yurou draped the windbreaker on her body immediately and wore her high heels. Then, she slowly stood up and brushed her completely wet bangs back.
“Thank…thank you sir.”
After tottering to thank him, Su Yurou looked at the breathless man lying on the ground beside her. Detest flashed through her eyes.
Suddenly, Su Yurou recalled the disgusting man trying to rape her just now.
She snorted coldly and couldn’t help kicking him several more times.
The man holding the black umbrella merely stood coldly by one side. He stared at what Su Yurou did but did not express his views.
After half a minute, Su Yurou finally realized a problem. There was no blood on the man with the square face. How did that man kill him?
The more Su Yurou thought about it, the more frightened she was but her heart slowly became firm, probably because the man had just saved her life.
“Sir, there must be a reason you saved me just now. What value do I have to you? What do you want me to do?”
Su Yurou started speaking with a relatively gentle voice but the more she said, the more she became anxious.
Even Su Yurou did not realize that she had a strange feeling for the man who rescued her at this critical moment.
It had been too long that nobody affirmed her value and this man seemed to have become the only way for her to prove her existence.
Hearing Su Yurou’s longing, the man’s cold eyes turned toward her and examined her from head to toe, as if digging and finding out how she could be of use to him.
Through the sunglasses, Su Yurou could feel his cold aura. Without realizing, she felt like escaping from the bottom of her heart.
Su Yurou trembled slightly and tried hard to squeeze out a smile and keep calm when being examined by him.
Even if this man was a devil from hell, she would definitely not miss this opportunity.
She had no way to retreat!
She had been abandoned by Gu Zihang and her father was about to be jailed. It had not been easy for her to claim kinship with Master Lei but he had also been arrested. As for Sheng Yuan Group, she had been excluded by Su Wan and Du Huimin.
Hence, the appearance of this man in front of her had as if become a turning point! No matter what, she would not let the opportunity slip away.
The man looked at Su Yurou quietly and then commented indifferently, “You and you cousin sister, Su Wan, are not the same at all.”
What did he mean?
Hearing the tone of disdain, Su Yurou could imagine a sneer appearing beneath his sunglasses.
Su Yurou’s expression stiffened. She took a deep breath but the jealousy and anger in her heart were still hard to contain.
“Sir, why do you want to compare me to that b*tch? If you think I’m useless, you don’t have to mock me like this!”
Before Su Yurou’s voice died down, she did not hear his refute. Suddenly, she thought he might not like Su Wan and she had misunderstood him.
As she thought, grievances which appeared in her eyes had very quickly turned into tears. Coupled with the face of her being bullied, she showed a strange look which could make a man’s heart waver.
Unconsciously, she bit her lips and lowered her head slightly, showing her slender and fair neck, with a bit of innocence.
The man looked at Su Yurou. His eyes were deep and there was a slight mockery in his indifferent voice.
“Don’t pretend to be pitiful in front of me. It’s not necessary.”
Su Yurou’s weak look suddenly changed. She tried hard to recollect herself and keep calm. Her voice was soft but composed.
“Sir, I believe you don’t like Su Wan too? Just tell me your purpose directly. I’ll try my best to do whatever I can.”
The man looked up calmly and then said faintly, “I’ll contact you when there’s a need. Just forget you’ve met me today.”
Su Yurou’s face fell. When she saw the man turning around and about to leave, her face turned pale instantly. She went up to him quickly.
“I know this request is too much but sir, could you please help my father? I…”
Her voice was hasty and filled with supplication.
The man’s voice was indifferent. “Why should I save a useless fellow?”
Su Yurou bit her lips and knew that she was imposing. She asked, “Then, how shall I address you?”
Just when Su Yurou thought the man would not answer, the man which was about to disappear at the corner, paused and a voice came from the wind. “You can call me Mr. Chen.”
