Chapter 1323 - I Have A Certain Eccentricity
Gu Mengmeng didn’t ask them to get up but just laughed. She was not exhibiting any signs of anger, but Miranda and the old foxes were feeling so oppressed that they could barely breathe.
She waved a hand. “Lea, put me down.”
Lea did as he was told and put Gu Mengmeng down. He and Elvis then flanked her on both sides.
Gu Mengmeng circled past Miranda and stood in front of the stone chair. She smiled before giving a straight punch.
With a loud crack, the stone chair shattered into shards of broken rock. There was no way it could be pieced together again.
The sudden noise startled Miranda. She huddled inwards and stared at Gu Mengmeng fearfully.
The elders were also astounded. They had no idea what Gu Mengmeng planned to do.
Gu Mengmeng patted off the dust from her hands. “I have a certain eccentricity. I don’t like others to touch my things. If someone has done so, I will destroy the thing together with that person. Since this was Miranda’s first offense, I have just destroyed the chair and spared you. Next time… I will squash you even more thoroughly than this chair.”
Miranda shivered uncontrollably on the ground. She gazed at Gu Mengmeng with tear-filled eyes.
Gu Mengmeng smiled. “There’s no need for you to be so scared. I am not an unreasonable person. Since you like this chair, take it with you. I am giving it to you on behalf of the Beast Deity. You must treasure it properly. If you lose even a piece of rock, it would be a show of disdain to the Deity. Come over and get your present if you understand me.”
“I…” Miranda stared at the pile of rocks as tears flowed down her face. She wept like a pear blossom dripping with rain. With the elegance of a fairy, she gently wiped the spots beneath the corners of her eyes. She said grievously, “Ah Ya, quickly help me explain to the Great Messenger. She has really misunderstood me… I…I wasn’t coveting her seat… sob sob sob… Ah Ya, what are you doing? Hurry up and help me explain…”
Gu Mengmeng put one finger to her lips to make a quiet gesture. Only when Miranda shut up did she continue speaking, “You cannot reject a gift from the Messenger. No matter what you have to say, you must accept the gift first. Remember, you must personally carry away each and every piece of rock. If you continue stalling with your nonsensical whining, I will take it that you are dismissing the Beast Deity.”
Miranda bit her lower lip as her eyes fell on Lea’s face, only to see that he had no intention of helping her. Instead, he was gazing appreciatively at Gu Mengmeng. A poisonous hate flashed across her eyes, but she managed to suppress it the moment it appeared.
She once again bowed low on the ground. “I thank the Great Messenger for her gift.”
With that, she started gathering those pieces of rock, all the while acting weak and mistreated. Tsk tsk tsk, she really knew how to tug at heartstrings.
Gu Mengmeng shifted her attention to the elders, her gaze landing on Elder Eugene, who had comforted Miranda earlier. With a faint smile, Gu Mengmeng said, “Elder Eugene, you have not answered my question. Were you referring to my Lea when you mentioned about the ‘Deity’s Most Favored Son’ earlier? Mmm?”
Elder Eugene trembled all over as he lowered his head. He did not dare to meet Gu Mengmeng’s eyes.
