The Indifferent Young Master’s Flash Marriage

Chapter 278 - Unexpected Discovery

In a special ward in Zhao Hua Hospital, only Jiang Xuecheng and Su Wan were inside. As no one talked, the ward was very quiet. It was so quiet that one could hear a pin drop.

Jiang Xuecheng sat quietly on the chair and felt he had never been so scared before.

He thought he was scared enough yesterday. When he rushed back to S City from A City yesterday, flying a helicopter he had not flown for a long time, his mind was only on Su Wan.

He told himself he could not be a bit late, otherwise, Su Wan might be raped by Gu Zihang, that scumbag.

However, today, sitting here, he didn’t know how to guard Su Wan. He could only accompany her quietly and continue to monitor her conditions.

Everything seemed normal. There were no strange fluctuations on the ECG monitor not far away.

Jiang Xuecheng’s deep eyes landed steadily on Su Wan.

All of a sudden, scenes of him and Su Wan appeared in his mind. Just like what Sheng An’ning said, he and Su Wan had known one another for only several months.

Fate was sometimes subtle. Some people are unable to get close to one another even if they spent a lifetime together but for some, once they meet, they would never want to let the other go.

After some time, Jiang Xuecheng saw that the liquid in the intravenous bag was empty. So, he called the nurse in to replace it.

After the nurse changed the liquid, she measured Su Wan’s temperature once again.

When the nurse saw the thermometer, she couldn’t believe her eyes. Pleasantly surprised, she waved the thermometer in her hand at Jiang Xuecheng

“Mr. Jiang, the temperature of the patient has reduced! Her temperature is now close to the normal temperature of the human body!”

The nurse’s excited voice entered Jiang Xuecheng’s ears. He was slightly taken aback and when he looked at the thermometer, it showed 37.7 degree Celsius.

Jiang Xuecheng darted his eyes to look at Su Wan, whose eyes were still closed. He pursed his lips lightly and said, “It looks like this medicine is working.”

The nurse smiled slightly and felt touched when she saw how Jiang Xuecheng kept watching over Su Wan so closely, not moving a step away from her.

He was such a handsome man and he loved his wife so much. She felt as if she had hope for love again.

“Mr. Jiang, don’t worry. Looking at your wife’s rate of recovery, I think she should wake up today.”

Jiang Xuecheng squeezed a smile and nodded faintly.

The nurse couldn’t bear to disturb him and Su Wan. So, she went out of the ward quietly.

The white light shone on Su Wan’s face. She was deeply asleep. Even without make up on her face, her face was still delicate and soft and not a single flaw could be found when one looked at it closely.

However, Su Wan was too quiet, just like a picture of a great beauty, making people think it wasn’t real.

Jiang Xuecheng knitted his brows slightly and pulled Su Wan’s blanket upward a little. Then, he lowered his head and placed a gentle kiss on Su Wan’s forehead.

Wan Wan, please get better soon.

For the first time, Jiang Xuecheng knew that waiting was a kind of torture. He sat here and every second felt like years to him.

Jiang Xuecheng tidied the messy hair on Su Wan’s forehead. Then, he stood up and walked to the window.

He took out his mobile phone and called Aunty Fang.

“Aunty Fang, please cook some pumpkin millet congee and some bland vegetables. Please ask Ah Si to send it to Zhao Hua Hospital in two hours.”

Jiang Xuecheng didn’t know when Su Wan would wake up but Su Wan had not eaten for so long and he was afraid she would be hungry. So, he asked Aunty Fang to prepare some food.

Aunty Fang was stunned. “Young Master, are you sick?”

Why was the young master in Zhao Hua Hospital?

When there was silence on the other end of the phone, Aunty Fang regained her senses immediately. “Oh, is Young Madam sick? What’s wrong with Young Madam?”

Hearing Jiang Xuecheng’s voice, he sounded full of energy and did not seem like he was sick. Moreover, Aunty Fang knew Jiang Xuecheng was not staying with his parents. So, she thought of Su Wan.

Although Aunty Fang and Su Wan did not spend lots of time together, she liked this smart girl. In front of Aunty Fang, Su Wan had always been well-mannered and did not put on an air of a young madam.

To Aunty Fang, Jiang Xuecheng had been alone for many years. Now that he found someone to accompany him, she felt relieved.

Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng were a perfect match.

Jiang Xuecheng let out a soft sigh and then replied, “Wan Wan is indeed sick. Don’t worry, Aunty Fang, she’ll get better soon.”

After ending his call, Jiang Xuecheng sat on the chair once again. For a moment, he didn’t know if the words he uttered just now was to console Aunty Fang or himself.

Jiang Xuecheng’s eyes landed on Su Wan. When he saw her left hand dangling out from the blanket, his looked changed.

That hand was long and delicate. The back of the hand was smooth and under the light, her skin looked much fairer.

Jiang Xuecheng’s eyes flashed. He stood up in a reflexive manner and walked toward the side of the bed. He then reached out for Su Wan’s left hand.

He held her hand a little tightly.

A few days ago, Su Wan had attended the trial at the Intermediate People’s Court of S City. That day, her hand was scratched by Su Yurou’s sharp nails.

Su Yurou scratched hard and even after two or three days, Su Wan still had a few dark red scab marks on the back of her hand.

Jiang Xuecheng could still remember that the scar on her left hand was still vivid when he bathed Su Wan yesterday.

However, it was gone now…

Jiang Xuecheng remembered joking with Su Wan when he applied ointment for her that day.

“Xuecheng, how nice would it be if I have no scar left after injuries, just like you.”

What did he say?

If this ability could be transferred, he’d be willing to transfer it to Su Wan…

Jiang Xuecheng never believed in strange forces and spirits but at that moment, his heart raced all of a sudden.

Jiang Xuecheng remembered seeing a shallow crescent scar on her right knee. It wasn’t very noticeable if one didn’t look closely.

He had once asked Su Wan about it and she told him it was from a childhood fall.

Jiang Xuecheng’s eyes deepened. He slowly lifted Su Wan’s dress and his eyes fell on Su Wan’s right knee.

The skin was extremely fair.

There was indeed nothing on her knee. The shallow crescent scar was no longer there…

For a moment, the ward was so quiet only the sound of breathing could be heard.

Jiang Xuecheng slowly pulled Su Wan’s dress down. After a long time, he was still spacing out.

Jiang Xuecheng exhaled a long breath and slowly returned to his chair. Looking at Su Wan’s quiet sleeping face, he slowly calmed down. Then, he carefully sorted out the events in the past two days.

If something wasn’t right…

It was Su Wan biting her shoulder and then drinking his blood last night…

Could his blood have this power?

In doubt, Jiang Xuecheng frowned. He put his hand on his shoulder.

There was no pain there because of his excellent healing ability. Even the bite marks could hardly be seen.
