Chapter 80 - A Windfall
While Lu Xuan’s powers were far below what they had been in his past life, so much so that he was less than one one-hundred-millionth times what he had been, that blade had only had a rudimentary level of sentience to it, making it a precious blade with a will instead of a true power item.
That blade was, at most, a divine weapon.
As such, suppressing it would have been easy for him. It would have been ridiculous to even think that that bit of bloodlust could have affected Lu Xuan.
Nonetheless, that blade was still a handy weapon to him at the moment.
While the power of modern firearms was undeniable, he felt cold arms suited him better than firearms would have on a variety of occasions.
The third piece after those two was a piece of ginseng, which was larger than the 300-year-old piece Lu Xuan had gotten from Ling Huang. It sported a greater number of roots and looked more humanly shaped.
“This thing must be a king of ginseng, at least 500 years old.”
Chen Nian grinned sheepishly and did not mind any of it, retreating to the side as he did so.
A group of men in black appeared near the warehouse not long after that. The one taking the lead was none other than the Chief of the Sha City’s branch of Special Task Force, Wang Junming.
However, Yun Sheng—the Chief of the Fu City’s branch of Special Task Force—was present as well.
Lu Xuan was rather surprised to see the two of them present at the same time.
“Mr. Lu.”
Both of them greeted him.
The men they brought had begun to clean up the scene, disposing of the dead bodies deftly while working with the police.
“How come the two of you are together?” Lu Xuan asked.
“I just happened to be attending to something in Sha City, and I heard about this having to do with you, Mr. Lu, before I was able to leave. So here I am,” Yun Sheng knew that Lu Xuan was suspecting something, so he answered right away.
“That so, eh?” Lu Xuan nodded and proceeded to tell the two of them what just happened.
The two of them frowned hard immediately. A case with just one Martial Arts Legend would have been very tricky, and that particular case had two involved.
“Would the case this time be a lot of trouble?” Lu Xuan put his backs behind his back and asked in a laidback manner.
Yu Sheng paused for a bit and continued, “Truth be told, Mr. Lu, it wouldn’t have been much of a trouble if it was just the Flying Dragon Sect. They had been only on the Special Task Force’s blacklist, after all. Killing a Martial Arts legend from the sect would have definitely been of great help with no loose ends. The case with Master Ying, on the other hand, will be tricky instead.”
