Chapter 1469 - Her Image Was More Or Less Completely Ruined
Gregory nodded his head, frowning all-along as he said, “This kind of matter…..has not happened before, I really don’t have any experience. And moreover, you were the one who sent Miranda up the mountains so I’ve to hear your opinion.”
Gu Mengmeng smacked her lips and said, “Bring me to her.”
Gregory glanced at the outside and said, being put on a spot, “The wind is too strong outside and it’s very cold. Moreover, I’m scared you will feel discomfort when we come back up again….”
Gu Mengmeng shook her head and refuted, “It’s fine, I’m already used to the height, I won’t feel as uncomfortable as the previous time. Moreover, if Miranda became pregnant during the last winter, I really can’t just ignore her like that.”
Gregory did not probe any further. He just took an extra beast skin and wrapped it around Gu Mengmeng tightly before carrying her on his back. Then, he tore the beast skin into large slits and tied her to his back without affecting her comfort so as to prevent her from fainting and slipping off him.
If this happened in the past, he would had said in utmost confidence, “I can always catch you in time no matter how many times you fall off my back”, but now….
He could not take the slightest risk because a chance in a ten million others may injure her, he did not dare to challenge it at all.
Honestly speaking, Gregory’s way of tying her to his back made her quite comfortable.
Of course, Gu Mengmeng was not a masochistic person, she merely just felt a sense of safety after being tied to his back, just like putting on the seat belt when sitting the roller coaster.
After everything was settled, Gregory carried Gu Mengmeng out of the cave and reminded her again before flying off, “If you feel any discomfort, tell me immediately, don’t put on a brave front, do you understand?”
“Yeah.” Gu Mengmeng answered readily.
Gregory warmed up his shoulders before spreading his wings and leaping towards the skies.
Gregory’s feathers covered Gu Mengmeng up completely until she had no idea what was happening outside her sight. She just knew that Gregory’s flight was very steady and every time he flapped his wings, she could clearly feel the blood vessels in his muscles contracting and relaxing in an obvious and powerful manner.
His motions stopped suddenly and that was when Gu Mengmeng knew that Gregory had arrived.
The feathers in front of her eyes were kept into Gregory’s skin and she resembled a gigantic baby being tied onto his back.
How should he put this…
Her image as the Messenger of the Beast Deity was more or less completely ruined.
It seemed like the Birds tribe would never view her as their Goddess after seeing her today, the Second Beauty next door might even have a greater aura than her now.
Gregory untied the beast skin string, flipped open the beast skin like how he would peel an onion and finally, a Gu Mengmeng piping with hot steam came in sight.
Her clear fair skin was tinted with redness and it was hard to differentiate whether it was due to the heat or bashfulness.
She struggled out from the beast skin and was already in the state of a vicious cycle.
Anyways, she could never salvage her image even if she were to act cold for a million times so she completely gave up on getting back her pride.
When Miranda saw Gu Mengmeng, she was clearly given a huge scare as she stood rooted to the spot, not able to move a single inch at all. Until she saw Gu Mengmeng turning her head to look at her, she then backtracked profusely, stepping backwards while shaking her head as if she saw a ghost. At the meantime, sh pleaded with a quivering voice, “I….I’m very obedient, I never escaped from the Motou Mountains before….please have mercy on me, I’ll never dare to pester Ah Ya again…I didn’t escape…..I didn’t….”
Gu Mengmeng face-palmed, she felt that she might had created a serious mental trauma for Miranda when she broke her wrist back then but she did not know that the reason why Miranda was so scared of her was because she overheard her narrating The Ten Greatest Punishments of the Qing Dynasty.
